Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Samurai 8 and Yozakura doing great this week :shout

But damn, 6 series with 10 votes after the excluded ones kkkk, Guardian of the Witch had the biggest drop between the new series, 15 positions, Zipman was the one before with 9 positions, i expected to do a bit better than this.

By far the best Dr. Stone ranking until now and Mashle is the best well received new series between the five.

Well, Chainsaw Man and Dr. Stone were crazy good last week, no wonder they are first and second.

I try to read each series so I voted, think they were excluded though.
Your votes were among the excluded votes, yes.

The rule is, a user must have at least 30 posts and be one month old in order for their votes to officially be counted.

A good measure to combat trolls. No hard feelings.

16. The Promised Neverland 166 - 9 Votes
17. Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san 194 - 7 Votes

18. ZIPMAN!! 9 - 4 Votes

You know, considering this forum, I thought certain series would be higher and others would be lower on the list. A lot of people hyped up Jujutsu Kaisen and We Never Learn, but they're near the bottom five. Kimetsu's in the middle of the pack as well (compared to the love it's getting from the anime community) and MHA's been in the Top 5 for a good while. Samurai 8's near the top, despite all the recent arguing. Though 7 through 13 were all within one vote of each other, so eh.

I have no bias against any of these series (hell, I'm happy that HeroAca's scoring well), I just find this interesting.

Damn, that 6 ties. Now I kinda get why Buranchi and Shinuki reminds us this time about the voting, considering that a 7th and a 15th position are only separated by 2 votes, which with a much larger amount of voters, all that section could be different.

So, this is the highest position S8 ever got on our polls. It's getting some buzz lately, huh?

So, here's a question to liven up the thread; Are you guys satisfied with Jump's current direction?
No, I'm a Nakano hater and if I could put 'Nakano hater' as my title on this forum, I would. :gatling
But seriously, I don't like how he discarded the 'victory, effort, friendship' thing but we've got some good series under him, so I guess it's okay.

That wasn't Nakano. It was Heishi.

That said, the fact that Jump discarded their motto is...interesting. Any ideas as to why?

I'd like to illustrate something with the people that are wanting to openly discuss plot details, in regards to the poll.

CSM and Dr. Stone are both ranked highly this week because of Power being awesome and the revelation regarding Senku.

Now, see what I just did there? I explained why those series ranked well without spoiling anything, and everyone who reads both series knows *exactly* what I'm talking about.

You guys can easily do the same thing.

These were some pretty unexpected results. Granted not reading half the stuff on this list means certain series surely have stellar chapters each week that I'll never be aware of, but seeing a few of these so low was surprising. We Never Learn with only 10 votes was a big surprise to me as I thought the chapter was fantastic. I also thought Undead Unluck would've been in the middle somewhere, not tied with Witch. I'm also curious to see how long Mashle will be able to get such high rankings each week. Glad to see Yozakura up higher than usual, it was a nice and solid chapter.

Is this what you mean by direction, in regards to the motto?

Or do you mean, like how CSM can exist in Jump currently, when prior years it might not have?

Kinda both? Nakano did state he doubts Chainsaw could've ever been in the magazine prior to the general shift in direction.

Oh, well then, yeah. I'm definitely a fan of the new direction.

I'd like to think most people are.

Worth noting Nakano also clearly considers Kimetsu and Act-Age among the shift, per interviews.

Well, we are voting for the 15 to 19 pages that are released that week and not the series or the current story arc as a whole (at least thats what everyone should do) and while I still enjoy KnY, I think single chapters of it have been pretty unsatisfying for a while and I have never voted for it. And I also found the last issue of the magazine extremely well rounded with great chapters from almost every series.
It also seems like many are still sleeping on Jujutsu because of the time and circumstance of its launch. Irregular and for a time dropped Edited Mangas, then Viz picking it up late.

I agree that Act-Age certainly fits the bill, I'm not sure about KnY, though. In my opinion, there's nothing in it we haven't seen in prior WSJ series.

But, maybe I'm overlooking something.

Slam, you're always one of the discounted voters. You're insanely close to meeting the criteria. You might as well just knock those last three posts out before the next poll. There's a few other voters that are in similar situations.

Wasn't this the same reason they turned Isayama away with his AoT prototype. They must have been kicking themselves over that and contributed to this decision. Neverland probably wouldn't exist without that either, although it's been fitting the classic Jump mold more and more with each arc.

Yeah, there's really nothing in Yaiba that we can say "wow i never saw that before on Jump", it's just more dark than the usual, also Gotouge likes to kill a lot kkkkk
