Kubo we know is planning something, though maybe in Jump+ rather than wsj (if it's a full series at all)
Matsui Yuusei I think maybe mentioned planning a thing? I don't remember
Amano Akira's done some oneshots, feels like she's planning on coming back
also feels like it's about time for Shinohara Kenta to make a new thing
Shinohara did mention he was planning something new, right? Or did I imagine it. Anyway, I hope that's the case.

Shouldn't it be about time for Naoshi to come back? With the current romcoms in the line-up ending and all that.

Yup, that was the last thing he mentioned before deleting his Twitter. If I recall correctly, in a recent interview he did while the Astra anime was airing, he talked about returning to his comedy roots with his next series. I really hope that he comes back soon in some form, his writing sensibilities are something that Jump is kind of missing right now in my opinion.

Who're the authors most likely to return in the near future? Like, not ones we want back, but have a strong chance of doing so in the next year or so.
Slightly hoping for another Yoko triumphant return

- Yozakura : Still doing pretty good IMO. It might finally survive. Hopefully it will continue with a new serious arc.
- Mitama : It was okay but nothing extraodinnary
- Zipman : It feels like the end for that one. Too bad as the art was really great.
- Aggravity Boys : Still wery into that one, every chapter is really funny to me !
- UxU : Great chapter but nothing much to say about it.
- Mashle : Loved the double page in this one and the chapter was good !
- GoTW : Still think it has potential, looking forward to how it goes even if this chapter was not that amazing. However the art is still really good !

Look the writing in WNL has been lacking, but there's no doubt in my mind the right girl won, which saves the series from a bad rating for me. I would've been hurt by a different result. The best girl is clearly sensei, but they don't get to win, just like Seishirou Tsugumi had no shot in Nisekoi.

Hopefully a decent romcom comes up. Something to brighten up the magazine.

This....sounds intriguing. Either this is full-blown ecchi or something more wholesome a few ecchi scenes scattered around. Can anyone clarify? I'm interested in picking it up.
I just read the two first chapters when it came out and afaik it has 0 ecchi. It's about an ultra clever girl with powers I think, that fights with other girls with powers and then there's the MC involved because, iirc, the FMC is in love with him. And so, he ends up in scary fights or whatever. It has no translations, and doesn't seem to be doing good popularity and sales-wise. It seems like an usual fluffy and pure rom-com.

Oh boy I hope Shinohara comes back soon! He's one of my favorite mangaka. The thing I like about his series in particular is his long term planning. To me, it always feels like he manages to show story progress at just the right time, like the placement of the flashbacks in Sket Dance and the crew's revelations in Astra. I love his art and humour too

Anyone know any prospective authors from one-shots and what not who could fill the gap? Haven't seen many romance one-shots in Jump lately.

Pretty sure with WNL ending soon, WSJ will want to fill that gap. So I expect one shots and romcom serializations soon.

We have people from the Romcom Festival, excluding Nisio Isin, Tsukuda Yuuto, Saeki Shun and Yamamoto Ryouhei. The rest could pop up maybe: Hanada Tomoya, Nakayama Michiru, Tonogaya Miyuki (I wish to have this mangaka, I like a lot their art), Tatefuji Tomohiro or Kawaguchi Yuuki.

And aside from this, begging for Date to get something.

As a big fan of harems like Nisekoi, WNL and Quints, I think writing an ending to that type of story is really hard to do, and harder to satisfy the audience. I don't think any of these manga do a particularly bad job with this, Quints in particular had a pretty good ending imo. Obviously harassment of the author isn't ok, but a problem is these series profit off of fans' obsessions with generally one of the girls, so things getting bad is probably to be expected unfortunately. I don't think Tsutsui or anybody else writing the perfect harem ending that perfectly wraps up all of the girls' arcs would make insane fans happy, they're going to be assholes either way, a shitty end is just an excuse to lash out.
For the people who hated with boiling rage to the author and didnt expect it for the ending of nisekoi cuz

onedera didnt get chosen
are actually dumb, it was too obvious since I read the first chapter, plus seeing it as ur typical generic harem series, their dynamics just too strong and iconic. So I wasn't surprised at all

That romcom one shot from Shun Numa was quite funny, wouldn’t mind seeing that in the magazine.

Lmao, going by volume covers, Uruka is the one actually featured most on those covers.

That sounds terrible. Doing that in a movie is dumb enough in my opinion, but to end the whole manga that way would be beyond awful. I'm still baffled by what Horikoshi is doing with the relationship between Deku and Bakugo, but to think he would go to that length with it just weirds me out.

Yeah, I would have rather liked it if they just stayed rivals instead of a "friendship" where one guy is a ginormous jerk and the other can't drop fast enough to his knees to worship the very ground said jerk walked on. Like at least make Bakugo less of a freaking butt or give Deku enough grandstanding to say f u to Bakugo or something like that. But this whole "Bakugo is so great." or "Kacchan..." is just so weird and then reading this about Deku handing over All for One to Bakugo ´who a) hated that Deku got such a cheat code so why should he want it when he wants to become Nr.1 hero due his own power and b) Deku has yet to even fully control said quirk just feels wrong on all scales.

Personally, I always got the feeling that Horikoshi wanted to do some more with Bakugo, giving him an arc similar to Endeavor’s, but Bakugo ended up being way too popular as he currently is. He still dominates popularity polls, outscoring second place 2 to 1, even without screentime. I think Hori might’ve wanted Bakugou to be seen as unlikable but he was better received than expected, so you have situations like this weird friendship/rivalry going on. That’s how I see it anyways, who knows what’s actually going on.

As for the end of the movie, I like the idea of the climax, though I don’t like the actual act itself. I’d explain, but it’s spoilers.
