MHA is quite under, but still came out on top with a 20k difference damn. Gotta keep an eye on the following weeks. TPN and HQ are much closer than I expected lol. Really good stuff for JJK and CSM, crossing fingers for CSM to cross 100k next week already, and JJK should cross 200k by week three.

reminder that HQ have SE as well, which while it improves sales a bit, it also take away from normal sales a bit

Kishimoto's already had a huge success and got overconfident and didn't put enough effort into making his new series fun.

You should be hugging Zipman guy, on his second total flop.

I don't really think the word effort should be used, even more when it's to a mangaka. He didn't made a good series but I doubt it was something effortless.

Yeeee I asked like two weeks ago if the upcoming volumes would be affected by the Coronavirus. I see these numbers are very irregular compared to previous volumes tbh. They could've done more. Now, let's see how it goes for the following weeks.

Yes. I mean it is disrupting everyday lives... I would say sales would be a bit different under normal circumstances...

It probably is affecting sales. People probably are buying more digital now, which we won't see.

In JP the same is happening with video games, with consoles selling much less and games also having smaller sales.

I thought that may of been the case but CSM's boost & HQ's performance made me somewhat doubtful. Although a few hundred drop in volumes sales could be probably because of the virus.

I mean, one can still be happy with one's own creation even though it doesn't find commercial success. I think he can easily still be happy with S8, if the manga overall is what he wanted it to be.

I don't see it though, games are still selling, consoles are still selling (problem is mostly going to be the fact that stock for that comes from out of japan IIRC so once they run out - that's going to be an issue), certain series are even going up by a fairly good margin (see JJK, CSM)

You could even say schools being closed means kids/teenagers need to fill more of their time with manga/games

There might be an impact but so far it really does seem negligible to me

This worries me a bit as well but tbf 1k copies is basically considerable fluctuation, I was expecting it to grow tho
