did anyone notice that somehow sanemi's slash looked like um1's but with fewer little slashes? it looked cool. also that twin head snake slash. and giyu can also use constant flux with one hand?

maybe the 13th form was not used in its entirety but tanjiro knowing the precise execution and the correct dance sequence did improved his performance in the fight.

tanjiro's dad told nezuko that tanjiro is about to die, maybe there's a plot twist in the next chapter and nezuko will somehow save the day. i mean literally haha
Which chapter did tanjiro dad tell that to Nezuko?I don’t really remember

I fail too see what point Nezuko rushing here and Kanao being absent

Kinda dissapoint with all of this

Series has dissapoint me.

I think that tanjiro will be possessed by muzan somehow and that nezuko and probably kanao will try to save him.

That's a good idea , even if right now I think that it's over.I mean Muzan is literally burning.

Did Gotouge do something to hurt you so much? Jeez I see you here every week absolutely trashing on the series..

Besides that, I don't understand why you want characters to die; killing relevant characters for the sake of it, or for shock factor (as you seem to be implying) is one of the worst plot devices you can use. Death isn't the only way in which a fight's stakes is increased, the demon slaying corps have sacrificed so much individually for this fight. It's also naive of you to expect a WSJ series to have a dark, downer ending when the purpose of many shonen is to give an underlyingly positive, hopeful message on themes of family, friendship, etc.

And since when was KnY not a mainstream shonen itself? KnY has always taken and used fairly common shonen tropes in its story; just because something is 'generic' doesn't mean it's bad, I hate it when people use that argument.

You also say you wish Tanjiro's 13th form was more effective on Muzan, but again KnY has never been about individual strength so to asspull a power for our shonen protagonist that would allow him to take him down would go against all the themes of teamwork and collective struggle embodied throughout this manga.
Just forget it, some People just want The author to follow what they expect and anything that isn't in their headcannon is trash.

Ah, I bit i forgot to comment on: Muzan getting his by cars. I've always wondered when KNY takes place and figured it was sometime around the 1890s at the latest... but if there are cars then then that means it's probably sometime in the early 20th century.

And.... is tanjiro dead? I suppose he has to be at least somewhat alive if his red blade managed to do something here.

Because he hasn't been seen since he sunk into muzans fat belly.
He seems to have delivered the final blow in the official translations. Speaking of which, it’s out. There’s also a possibility that he got out cause in the second to last page, it looks like there’s a limb popping out of his belly.

Edit: It’s not a limb. It’s just his burnt belly.

This also has issues because then whatever the author does becomes unable to be criticized since it's their decision/intent (I've already seen such a defense as "well, Muzan was intended to be boring!").

Has to be some sort of balance.

Just gonna pull a MiB ending.

Agreed, the two extremes tend to be blind fanboying and blind hating; it's inevitable that KnY has flaws and it's healthy to admit that, but at the same time a couple flaws don't make a manga absolutely unreadable beyond all doubt lol

I really like this finale. The struggle is real to stop Muzan from escaping. He even tried going underground of all things on top of that flesh shield. Some real creativity and desperation were shown here by Muzan. This might not even be the end of Muzan's fight, Muzan may have his real body stuck inside the giant baby flesh thing and make a last ditch effort to fight for a minute or two as his body slowly disintegrates. Maybe since he is the progenitor demon, even sunlight won't kill him instantly. I just have a feeling that to make it fit the Shonen feel of the manga, Tanjirou will use some sort of 13th Form finishing technique to defeat his real body. He may need a little bit of help from Nezuko too, if her demon powers still persist for a little while after she turns human/isn't fully human yet.

Muzan has definitely killed a lot of characters in this fight. It might not seem like it, but that's because if he really did kill everyone mid fight it would have spiraled out of control. Many of the Pillars are all bleeding out and pretty much doomed to die of their injuries, and even if they live through the fight, them using the Mark was already a big sacrifice to their lifespans. It all means that if they let Muzan escape here, the whole Demon Slayer Organization will totally collapse and soon later, Muzan would certainly send out some new Upper Moons to mop up whatever was left, as enough of the Pillars would be dead that there would be nothing they can do now that their base has been found. Basically, Muzan escaping is the same for them as them all being defeated by him. It is some really well done high stakes stuff. The only thing he would lose out on would be getting Sun Immunity from Nezuko, but it would still be a permanent loss for the demon slayers and he would proceed in his objectives with little fear of the humans trying to stop him again for a long time.

Another excuse Toyoharu could use to have the battle prolong a little longer in the same way would be if the drug meant to turn Muzan into a human actually worked and turned him human enough that the Sun stopped killing him once it hit his real body, but his Demon powers also began to vanish over time. It could cause an interesting character crisis if he suddenly sensed he was becoming mortal in exchange for being able to fight for a little longer, which to him, would make his whole battle immediately become pointless whether he won or lost. But I think it would be less climactic if he lost the will to fight and was defeated because he stopped giving it his all anymore. Tanjirou will probably beat him with 13th form as he is fighting and burning up from sunlight and etc. I think that whatever Toyoharu goes with will probably be very very good though, this whole manga has really been one of the best Shonen I've read.

After rereading the chapter a bunch of times, what the hell did Muzan do to blow both Iguro and Sanemi away, along with blowing off Tanjiro’s arm, and keep blowing a massive amount of air, enough to make it a struggle for Tanjiro to keep hold of his blade and be blowing both his and Giyuu’s hair back.

That Giyuu-Tanjiro panel... I had Goku-Gohan feels.
It's really great seeing them like this and remembering their first interaction in the first chapter, they have come so far together.

Very suitable for Muzan to die in the form that reflects his true inner self, a big crybaby. This should be the end of him, I don't think the characters there could pull anything else if something suddenly happens. I'm curious to see how Tanjiro will keep going from his wounds, and for Nezuko to show up already.
