@Ustegius Children of Men was one of those dystopias I talked about, that isn't in-your-face sci-fi but which I had on my list. I just BARELY left it off. Such a fantastic film.

BR 2049 was better than it had any right to be. But after rewatching both again lately, I still prefer the original. Oh, spoilers.

Glad Alien got higher than Aliens tbh. I always liked the first one better. Same with Terminator > T2.

I wonder if this means Star Wars (A New Hope) got higher than Empire. Because that's another I will agree with, in that case.

Back to the Future is one of those almost laughably well executed films. Rewatched it a couple of months back and I'd forgotten how much of a 101 in dramaturgy and foreshadowing it is.

--- Double Post Merged, Apr 12, 2020 ---

Btw I let this slide earlier but anyone who hasn't seen Moon should go and do that asap. Preferably without reading up on it beforehand. I tend to list it among my favorite indie films. It's a gem. Luckily not that hidden of a gem anymore since it seems to be finding more and more attention, but still. Any chance to plug it, I'll take it.

[Erinyes]

Wow I am surprised that Her ended up being shared and not Truman show, expected the opposite but i can see why people dont exactly see this as an SF.

Both solidly in my honorable mentions list. Excellent picks.

I got a soft spot for cute little robots

@Ustegius Children of Men was one of those dystopias I talked about, that isn't in-your-face sci-fi but which I had on my list. I just BARELY left it off. Such a fantastic film.

I included it after I read on that Cuaron himself considered it a sci-fi creation. And his creative guideline to the art department was that the film should be completly 'anti-Blade Runner'. So obviously I needed to have both on my list.

Nothing but solid picks now.

Though like I said, Terminator > T2.

[Brandish μ]

Idk man, T2 is pretty fucking good. I a great feat for a sequel to reprogram the original villain and object of terror to a father figure. And he went out like a booossssssss!

So many good choices! I was sitting on the fence with Iron giant and Lilo and Stitch. Went with the latter so I'm glad to see Iron Giant was nominated by other people

Don't we all though. Walle-E is adorable.

I have a soft spot for hot huge robots, too!

[Brandish μ]

I still haven't seen Interstellar.

Everyone trashes it. So it might be one of the better Nolan movies.

The Prestige was pretty good thought it might register here.

You're not wrong. I love both, but I do prefer the more horror take of the original.
