They most likely are not going to publish something like To Love Ru or Word´s End Harem because that would probably make them a +18 app in the Goodle Play and Apple Stores, in fact IIRC there was a chapter of I think Chainsawman that wasn't released in the apps, only on the website.
I don't think this situation is exclusive to over here. I heard that in Japan, World's End Harem and Saotome Shimai ha Manga no Tame Nara were taken off the IOS version of the Jump+ App because Apple no like teh lewd.
I don't really read many One-Shots, I mostly read One-Shots from authors I'm already interested in (So no rookies).. Because a lot of times the One-Shot is like a pilot for when the maaga is actually serialized.
I think Shokugeki No Sanji would have worked super well like imagine if this continued for other series, like Shokugeki x Naruto and thee ramen vending man makes some delcious ramen and provokes a foodgasm in a customer haha, stuff like that, I think maybe a volume of Shokugeki x (Different WSJ Series) would have been fun.
Cross Epoch would have been nice as a volume collection too, maybe Oda and Toriyama could have made a chapter per year or something haha and we would have a volume worth of content by now.
Those are never gonna happen but I think Build King hopefully will get serialized, perhaps maybe next year after Tite gets his time to shine (I think maybe Jump has like this yearly thing going on for super well known authors returning, so next year is probably Shimabukuro's turn).

Exactly, Apple is super conservative when it comes to lewd stuff in their store, so yeah I can only imagine that's the main reason no Mature series (As in ecchi/******-esque) will get published in Jump+ or MangaPlus.
Finally! Hopefully this cheers some people up during these times, early One Piece is very charming in its own weird way haha, also this had already been posted by Netflix and then they randomly removed it.. My guess is that they wanted this to be released worldwide with dubs from all around the world but some dubs were stopped.. For example here in Mexico, the Latin American dub was stopped due to Covid19, but maybe they finished it or something?
Whats the best one shot WSJ has published in the last 10-15 years, in your opinion, that never became a full fledged series? Just name the series and detail why you think it was the best you thought. No need to attack each other's opinion.
The first one that came to mind was Island, from Naoshi Komi, but apparently it wasn't on the main magazine itself. Nonetheless, it still a really great story, I don't even mind it not being a series, it worked very well as an oneshot. I wish the author went back to doing adventure/fantasy stories instead of romcoms. I really liked his non-Nisekoi works.

I really liked Money, Romance and Me (by Samon's author), and Foo Fighter Fuji (by artist of ST&RS and a recent romcom oneshot by Nisioisin).
Matsui's Tokyo Department Store War and Fujimoto's Nayuta (but that was in SQ) had some interesting ideas. And Build King's concept is cool too, but I really hated all the designs in it even as a big fan of Shimabuu's goofy style.
Anyways I haven't read any of the oneshots besides the small number Viz translated which were all by big established creators. The ones I remember are Mario (Kishimoto), Build King (Shimabukuro), E no Genten (Naoshi Komi), Burn the Witch (Kubo), and How much can you kill? (Nisioisin and Ikeda Akihisa).
Of those I guess Build King is my favourite, with the Ikeda & Nisio one being the #2. I'd love to see Ikeda come back with a Jump+ series or something, Rosario was one of my favourite manga but it ended 6 years ago, and all we've had from Ikeda since then (that I know of) is an epilogue and a couple oneshots.
In addition to this one, I highly recommend all of Fujimoto's one-shots, especially Imouto no Ane! He's very great at writing concise stories that have a strong emotional punch. Even the more basic ones feel so distinct and they're all filled with his off-beat sense of humor and comedic timing.
I figured Kimetsu's habit of giving tragic backstories and flashbacks during fights to every character even the villains could be inspired by Naruto or One Piece
I don't understand, how can something be the successor when its 'predecessor' is still running as usual? I can see the argument for Naruto sure but not OP.
Haven't read many Jump oneshots but I really liked E no Genten, but honestly as a big Nisekoi fan I just want Komi back, doesn't need to be that one. THat oneshot by the Samon author was also really funny, would love to see that in the magazine.
Futagami Double by Kentaro Yabuki would be my pick. It's a bit chuunibyou-ish, looking back on it, but at leats it had an interesting power structure and world-building.

I just googled it, I imagine he made it after To Love Ru but before TLR Darkness? Such a shame To Love Ru is a super hot seller because I'd like to see Yabuki make a new action manga, maybe a sequel to Black Cat, he said he probably'd return to the franchise.. My guess is he'd return in Jump SQ.

Also all this talk about favorite one-shots made me remember a series (that was actaully serialized in WSJ).
I read it back when I still read new WSJ manga as it was being serialized and... the name of the manga was K.O Sen, I thought it was good.. and then it got cancelled (big surprise..)
Anyways I did some googling and apparently the author of K.O Sen not only has a finished series in mangaplus Arata Primal (Which I'm solo gonna read now) but also had a manga that ran for like 17 volumes and even had a sequel and sold 2.3 million copies (according to Arata Primal's first chapter in MangaPlus).
Just a random thought I had, glad to see Katsutoshi Murase, a mangaka I had forgotten about is doing good.
Anyone have any final guesses on ToC placements? Or a possible announcement of a series ending? Though I imagine we'd have seen that leaked already if it was happening.
There's been an update to our forum rules to broaden crediting/sourcing to all series news/announcement, etc. Please read HERE
