Did not consideer this, but since we already saw train technology, while this world is not the same as ours they appear to be at an equivalent of the middle meiji era, so maaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe, if you stretch it, we could see 90 year old tanjiro in this landscape?

It is a possibility, but I think it only works with Nezuko, because Tanjiro was not even a demon. see in the spoilers that when he became a human he lost his eye again.

Last chapter was literally everyone all bloodied up after the Muzan battle and them being able to save Tanjiro. Now judging from these spoilers, we're fast-forwarding beyond what happened last chapter.

Prior to the anime the series numbers could barely justify themselves by Jump standards often never making it to the Top 50 AT ALL and exiting no higher than volume 14's 146k in volume sales. This was around the mountain assault arc so the series was likely up for the chopping block in some capacity and Gotouge wanted to wrap things up on her terms.

Sales were 300k per volume at the current lifetime sales not at exit of Top 50 and that's volume 1 which would have had the longest time for sales to accumulate. That's the big difference. Those are legit good numbers, but not the usual Shonen Jump good numbers and it likely WAS popular, but niche popular. It being on the chopping block is speculative since the series immediately went into overdrive after the Red Light District in terms of speeding things along.

What the heck are you talking about? The series was doing 150k FM way prior to the start of this arc and was a top 3 ranker within the magazine. Going back to how it was doing during the freaking mountain arc is literally just grasping at straws, it wasn't getting rushed out, it just ended.

Volume 14 Sold 145k before falling out of the rankings with 13 being 146k. Prior to that, few of the volumes even made it to 100k before falling out of the rankings. It wasn't until the mountain arc which incidentally coincided with the Anime being heavily promoted and airing that the numbers GREATLY increased with 15 being just under 200k before falling out and that was released on the week the Anime aired. The first two to three volumes didn't CRACK the Top 50. It was a middling at best seller by Jump standards with it improving near the end of its life run with some ups when the Anime got announced and then the kick ass Anime which MASSIVELY boosted its profile came out. It sold incredibly well, but to pretend that it was always a major seller is revisionist crap especially when the numerics are so easy to find. Yes Volume 1 had something in the range of 320k, but that's lifetime sales since the time we got those numbers was when volume entered the rankings for the first time when the Anime aired and we got those numbers week of May 6 to 12 of 2019. A solid three years after Volume 1 was published. It didn't exit the rankings with those numbers, but accumulated them over the course of three years followed by incremental boosts leading to massive ones when the Anime aired.

What? The mountain arc didn't coincide with the anime being promoted, that arc ended in 2016 and the anime didn't even get announced until late 2018 and aired in april 2019, the manga was already in the infinity fortress arc by that point. Are you trying to imply the readers went back in time to vote for the series years before the anime aired or something?

The sales were decent (the only series that sold better than it in WSJ by the time the arc started were OP/tpn/mha/HQ/bcn a whopping 5 out of 19), the rankings were great, it was in a very solid spot within the magazine and very far from being in danger, if you think otherwise I suggest not trying to pass it off as anything but your headcanon.

And since you seem confused, rankings and sales are two different things. KnY was a top3 ranker in the toc in 2018.
