It's not. It would be super weird to not give KNY AT LEAST this for its final chapters. I'm surprised they didn't just give it a full blown color chapter with the LCP for the final chapter.
What is super weird is KnY getting two back to back last two chapters because no series ever has gotten them. You could make an argument Naruto did, but those were in the same issue, but no manga has gotten two back to back last two chapters in two different issues of WSJ. Also TIL Hokuto No Ken, Dr.Slump, Kinnikuman didn't get a CP for their final chapter.. And that Dr.Slump ended in Septemer of 1984 an Dragon Ball started in December of 1984... Crazy

Jesus guys, they don't tell the artists "last minute" that they have the LCP. They know this kind of things in advance exactly so they don't find themselves doing them "last minute". This image was made after all the rescheduling was already done and after Oda was already aware of his new situation. Besides as raf told you, the chance that 2 people made that image for the 2 languages is pretty slim.

This situation you're trying to build does not make sense. And as for the "But why is Kimetsu getting back-to-back CPs?", we've had CSM get three CPs in a row for a popularity poll and you're asking why the most popular series in the industry is getting 2 for its ending. Like, does this really need to be addressed?
The Jump you see today was manufactured two or so weeks ago (as is every Jump), Oda was probably told way in advance (maybe even a month or so ago) about OP getting LCP and said sure.

(Also remember that the delay was known to the general public in issue 20, we knew since April 8th-ish there was going to be a delay, so Jump staff probably already knew about this delay since the beginnings of April, perhaps even late March because an issue of WSJ takes around 1-2 weeks from the developing stages until it gets to stores.)

But then all this happened and Oda pretty much lost either all his assistants or some of them at the very least, and thus according to theory told the staff over at WSJ Japan he wouldn't be able to make the LCP for the Golden week issue (Which was changed from Double Issue to a single issue, issue 23).

And as I told you guys it really shows in this One Piece chapter. Like it's not Togashi drawing sketch looking chapters in HxH but it's noticeable.
Some people have pointed out how busy most panels in One Piece are right? Well this week's panels were noticeably blank.. Not a lot of backgrounds or characters and LOTS of close up to faces, almost like a rookie mangaka that only draws faces (or maybe a mangaka that was perhaps in a hurry trying not to miss a deadline with half his normal team or assistants or even working by himself?)..

Here's a comparison I made for the sea, just to give you an idea of how the chapters looks less polished than usual. Doesn't even the sea in this weeks chapters look kinda rough? Less polished? Well it's just a small sample of how unpolished this chapter looks next to the others.

I'm not disputing KnY having the last CP, or even LCP or even a full color as 101nemsesis said, it's deserving of all that and more.. But there's no doubt that lots of patterns were broken here, it's not one or two or three coincidences, is a lot of them.
This is the first time ever I felt something was weird while reading One Piece, the first time ever a manga in WSJ gets two back to back last chapters, and (don't know if its a first time too), but I don't think Mangaplus had had any other errors like this in the past?

I get your point guys, it's easier to just say that mangaplus just made a mistake, but when everything points out towards the same conclusion:
-KnY having two back to back final chapters (something no other series have ever had) even series that were more successful than it (DB and SD)
-Oda's chapter this week being sloppy in the art (No backgrounds stuff like that).
-Oda's letter of hiatus a couple days ago.
-Mangaplus's advertisement for One Piece LCP.
-One Piece not getting the LCP for a double issue (Not like it hasn't happened before, but it's weird, specially coupled with the fact of mangaplus's "error").

It kinda seems weird, lots of patterns being broken here, but whatever if I didn't open your mind to the possibility of this after all these arguments I guess you just don't want to see how all these although circumstantial points out to OP losing its LCP due to Oda losing some of its staff.

I am not even sure why is being discussed really? like do you guys think that the original plan was just a color page for Kimetsu final chapter and that's it?

Quick, stupid question as it's something I never really paid attention to:
If KnY and UU are getting 24 and 25 additional pages respectively next issue, that's in the obvious, literal sense right? As in getting 24/25 pages on top of the usual length of the chapters, so around 50 total?

I don't really feel like making a long post so I'll just go through the points quickly

- It can easily just be that they wanted to give it LCP on final chapter but they couldn't due to a new series starting, so they just settled on giving it LCP on the second to last and still give it CP on the final one as an "apology", I really don't see the issue here, it's popular enough to afford doing it. It's doing Slam Dunk/Dragon ball numbers in an era where Slam Dunk/Dragon ball numbers were thought to be impossible, and even then, you say "even they didn't get these", but slam dunk got the cover and DB got a full color color chapter, so I really don't get what you're talking about.
-Ok, but so what? It doesn't prove OP had LCP at all.
- You could easily spin this as "since OP always gets the LCP on group covers the guy who made the image assumed it was getting it this week as well". Hell, it is just that much easier justifying a single mistake than writing up all the manuscript you have here.

If OP was supposed to get LCP in issue 23 Oda pretty much knew that since sometime in march, maybe early april, it's not a time issue because they would simply know that much in advance since they'd have the issues structured in a certain way. They don't give the artists more workload out of nowhere.

I'm not arguing that Oda isn't having troubles with assistants, but jesus, using a M+ banner which makes mistakes all the time to claim that it is anything more than that is bogus.

Damn, One Piece not getting a LCP during Golden Week really feeling like The Da Vinci Code out here.
Lol this actually made me chuckle haha

Again in a nutshell there are two ways to look at it:
One is mangaplus made a mistake conveniently just putting OP had LCP this week by mistake(btw what a funny way to spell "Kimetsu No Yaiba", that seems like a pretty easy mistake to make, right?).
The other is that it wasn't a mistake, and that OP was scheduled to get the LCP.

Also Ryuusei it's not only about OP not getting LCP on Double Issues, that has happened a number of times.. in fact I think it even happened last year too, is everything else put together.
I would be "defending" this theory if any other manga had had an announcement made "by accident" in mangaplus, because it just makes sense, but it just makes oh soooo much sense when putting together that this series happens to be One Piece which just so happens to be the one series that gets the LCP in double issues 90 which also happens to be the one manga that announced it had had publishing issues and will have more hiatuses from now on.

Of course I understand is easier to make a joke when you have nothing else to dispute to an argument but whatever, I won't respond about this matter anymore.

(btw is mangaplus in French or other languages? I could only find English and Spanish, maybe the advertisement is in other languages too? But if the same advertisement was in other languages then it just solidifies this theory more).

No, most times it's just 24 pages.
This also applies to most manga in their 2nd and 3rd chapter. Also don't worry there are no stupid questions ;) well some are haha

Yes and no, I never said a color page, not a ton of series end with a single color page (Though some do, examples I have in my mind right now: Hoshin Engi and Shaman King), KnY could have had CP or even an entire colored chapter, that's not what is being discussed here really, it's about issue 23, not 24.
You can read my post again, where I stated that literally every manga in the history of WSJ has gotten that treatment (Even manga that were more popular and influential than Kny was/will be) of getting their last chapter with some color pages, .

Ok, I'm going to give it one last post because it's starting to get ridicolous. Even we, on this freaking forum, have known kimetsu was getting LCP this week for 2 weeks and a half before this issue even released. it wasn't sudden, you can just go back to issue 21-22's ToC leak and see that it very clearly says "Kimetsu LCP" on the preview. It stands to reason that the M+ staff knew it even further back than we did. This banner was obviously done recently, because it uses the HQ cover from this issue as the banner image.

If you still don't get it then I don't know, keep your conspiracy honestly, what can I say.

Well, hope you also understand that lots of sound arguments (which I agree with) have been made by other members and I don't have to repeat them over and over again, it would get tiresome anyway. Time to go back to anime.

Bleach got a CP for it's penultimate chapter stating it's the climax and an extended CP (much like a LCP) for its final chapter (4 page color if you include the full color movie announcement). It couldn't technically get a LCP because it was the new round of newbies.
So your point is kinda moot.

I like that there can be variety in what manga gets the LCP in Golden Week. I hope next year My Hero Academia or Chainsawman get that LCP.

BTW I recall Prince of Tennis got LCP in its final chapter, didn't it?

No, might have been an extended cp though.

From what I can see, Prince of Tennis got cover and LCP in it's 3rd last chapter but nothing after that.

Remember the spanish editor that said they were notified that KnY was ending like 6-5 weeks in advance? The magazine probably had planed both LCP and cp this chapter and the final one the cp + 24 pages by then.

Hi everyone! I’ve been on this forum before but haven’t been active in it for awhile now.

a new question I want to throw up is which of the new series that we have do you guys see staying in the magazine and what do you guys think is going to be cancelled? Just thought it would be an interesting topic. I would really love to see Undead Unluck & Mashle to be able to stay.

The only new manga I know it's not going to stay in the magazine is Guardian of the witch I don't think nobody's interested in it

Personally, I'd sell my soul to have Mitama survive, and I like Agravity, UxU and Moriking (so far) enough to want them to live. Mash I'm pretty indifferent on so it could go either way. I'm not too fond of Yozakura or GotW so I don't mind seeing them go, and Bone Collection is too new to say. Realistically speaking, Mitama has been on thin ice for a while, so I wouldn't be surprised if it got the axe for the next round. Yozakura might be able to survive to it's 1 year anniversary but I don't see it becoming a staple. Agravity might be able to turn things around but I'm not super optimistic. UxU and Mash seem to have good odds, but I'd wait until more volumes are out, especially for Mash. GotW seems like the new Zipman, but maybe not U19, and Mori and Bone are too new

Based on ToC placements - Mashle
Lets see what kind of sales it will have.

If it can do something like 30-40k for it's first volume, I think that will be considered a success since it's primarily a comedy.

Undead and Mashle will still be around for a while, I think they could end up sticking around for the long term.

Yozakura and Mitama I feel like are still around because other at risk stuff did worse rather than them doing especially well. I think they'll both end up getting cancelled eventually (since they don't seem to be growing much), though maybe not until their second year depending on how many more new series we get in 2020.

Guardian is almost certainly dead in the next couple batches.

Agravity Boys is maybe the hardest to predict at the moment, since it still seems to be figuring out what kind of series it wants to be so perhaps it'll rise up if it can find that niche.
