A third KnY Light Novel has been announced for a June release:

It appears it will re-adapt the story with the author as supervisor, so there may be several of these in the future. He/she will also make several illustrations for it.
According to the writer's blog there will be two books.

Sounds bloody ripe for a conspiracy theory of Nak & Co. trying to stop Kimetsu from toppling every one of OP's record except lifetime sales.
I mean, lifetime sales is arguably the most significant metric, and KnY is never going to come anywhere close to beating it.

Well, after the fuck-up that Jump made last year with OP's sales, can you blame me for being downright skeptical? It's not a secret among members here that Jump does have some interest in maintaining OP's top dog status. This, on top of Jump being so wildly random with their serializations.

Sure, they've always been this way, but it feels like they're just throwing darts and hope whatever sticks, even more so than past decades. An upside to this approach is that it's a good thing they're willing to experiment, but this ends up with the magazine having more misses than hits than in recent decades. Has there ever been a higher turnover than in recent years in Jump?

Anyway, bottom line, my opinion is that Jump's editorial department is has been wholly inconsistent and just plain badly managed. That is why they deserve any piece of skepticism coming their way.
Just because I am being meta about this doesn't mean I am not with you, brother (just check my signature).
Cue Deus Ex theme, we are getting to the bottom of Nak/Shueisha malice.

Doesn't this put a stop to all those rumors about Gotouge's family issues? He/she is clearly still going to be heavily involved with a lot of things around this series.

True but Kimetsu beating OP for most, if not all, of the other records related to sales is still massively monumental.

If this issue confirms that there will be gaidens by fall, it will totally debunk it.

Damn. Imagine if Demon Slayer got this popular near the beginning of its run. Imagine the amount of sales and money it would have total. Honestly it probably would’ve been able to top stuff like Bleach, Slam Dunk, and who knows what else. Maybe it could’ve even passed Naruto in lifetime sales which would’ve been insane.

LoL, I didn't catch that honestly. My bad.

It could've. But it most likely wouldn't have at the beginning. There were a lot of things that went right for it. The stars just happened to align so perfectly it's like seeing Halley's comet. The art is admittedly not quite to everyone's tastes, that was a major part of the reason people were reticent towards it at first, and even KnY fans can't deny that. The anime improved the viewing by a 1000x, and with the incredibly solid production, it went viral, and thus you have one of the craziest sagas in Jump's history.

Please don't forget that the series caught on because it's story, battles and characters were compelling. Episode 19, which was what went super viral I believe, was amazing because the fights, character interaction leading up to it gave it the right weight. Had it been a poorly done story or a boring fight, it wouldn't have gotten any popularity at all.
No amount of gorgeous animations can hide poorly written characters and bad setups.

Like you said initially, a lot of things went right for it - and together at the right time.

This will be a respectable hit at best, and at worst, a mangled, convoluted mess if the writer is not careful. He's gonna have to make sure he lays down the rules as clearly as possible, and go from there.

It will be interesting to see a female male mangaka duo depicted in a manga (the girl is holding an art book, so she will be the artist?) like this. It offers some interesting space for exploring dynamics, especially if the girl is from the future.

I got a survey pop up on Manga+ asking about the service. Questions including what I liked about the service, what I thought needed improving, how much I'd be willing to pay for a monthly subscription, individual backlog chapters and digital volumes.
There was also a section on what series I'd like to see on Manga+ that included stuff like Yuuna and various unlicensed Jump SQ and Jump+ series (including Ruroni Kenshin)

I know that this week will be like 90% Demon Slayer but I'm so hyped to this man. I hope that this dude go nuts. If I finished the First chapter have no fucking clue of what is happening, then he did his job right. Hahaha

Jokes aside, the art looks really good. Looking forward to this.

If that were the only important thing, the news isn't highlighting the records that Demon Slayers is breaking every week.
Regardless if it's this year or next, it's almost certain that DS will hit 100 million. And that a manga manages to reach these figures in just 4 years, has nothing to envy who in 22 years reached 470 million.

Downloaded the app just to do the survey. Would be great if they got more series on board.

I wasn't saying it was the only important thing, just arguably the most.

Having said that, I'm certain KnY would have beaten OP's lifetime sales if it ran for a few more years. Especially if the movie boosts it further.

That's a pretty bold statement, no other mangas than One Piece ever was able to sell as much after a long run. It's arguably the best written manga of all time. Even Naruto and Dragon Ball sales were starting to go way down at the end. Look at Detective Conan right now... Once was one of the biggest thing in the world and still is (overall sales), but in the past couple years D.C. sales have been pretty bad, because people are getting bored with due to it getting too long, people somehow don't get bored of One Piece.

Why is that everybody is sure(100%)that demon slayer will reach 100 milion life time sales?

It currently has reached 44 milion life time sales and it has 2 volumes left(one currently out and one for the future) even assuming each volume would reach 4 milion copies in sales that's would still be 84 milion copies sold.

Yes it's possible to reach 100 milion (and it probably will and I will eat my words) but its still a bit early to say with absolute certainty that it would reach 100 milion sales.

Also there is no need to drag others down to make demon slayer look good(yes the one piece fandom has shit people in it, but what fandom doesnt) , 470 million is an incridibly high number its the third most sold title world wide(batman and super man are ahead and they started selling from the 1930s).

I understand your point, but I answer it is because it really is the only argument that some One Piece fans grab - since it is the only record that Demon Dlayer has failed to beat, and never will. But DS reminds me a lot of FMA. You don't need to have more millions than other manga for your work to be the best one. Be considered a cultural thing because it marked an era. A clear example is the FMA anime. Over the years I have systematically seen fans choose FMA as the best anime ever. Obviously it is somewhat subjective, but in general you see that the majority choose the same anime, that means that said mangaka and studios are completely calm. Because they have accomplished a job that few have.

Why is that everybody is sure(100%)that demon slayer will reach 100 milion life time sales?
Very easy to answer that question. Because apart from the fact that a movie will be released that will boost sales, there are still 3 more volumes to come out. And probably early next year (2021) DS will reach that number. And to all this add that obviously Ufotable will not release its gold mine and continue with the anime, which in turn will further increase its sales of the manga.
And add to that they will continue to squeeze DS in any way.
Just today they just announced a new DS novel that will be released in June. just after the manga finish.

And not only this that I mention. But they will continue to squeeze DS anyway. Just today they just announced a new DS novel to be released in June. just after the end of the manga.
