Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

The only advantage for Seinen is that you can show frontal nudity and it'll be OK.
Kingdom, Tokyo Ghoul etc all would work just as well in a shonen magazine (not including the nude bits in Kingdom).

Similarly, if CSM was in a seinen magazine, Fujimoto could've probably shown actual frontal nudity instead of tastefully censoring it with angles and poses. And like, that CSM chapter leak which would've been a controversy in a shonen magazine (if it was true). It wouldn't have been a controversy if it was a seinen magazine.

Just things like that.

Before CSM, I would've said the type of violence and the kind of psychological and graphic horror in Tokyo Ghoul would probably be turned by a Weekly Shonen publication (maybe in a monthly like SQ, Gessan or Bessatsu Shonen Mag), but now... maybe not anymore xD

Unrelated side note, but I miss Sui Ishida so much, it's so sad that he got hit with burnout so hard T_T;;

Mitama's still doing well in the ToC, remember Spring Weapon live for over a year despite sales being only slightly better than Mitama's are now and that was with a lot more long runners ongoing (including multiple gag manga). It'd be odd for Mitama to suddenly end after it climbing up to the top 5 and getting promotion on Jump+, when they're got Guardian and Agravity Boys both looking very dead.

Maybe they'll end it based on sales alone instead of Agravity but I still get the feeling they really want Mitama to grow. Plus it's not like Agravity Boys has brilliant sales itself, the difference is, what, 6k compared to 9k? That's better but still not a hit.

It was hard to know when Togashi came back from the hiatus at a normal time.
With the pandemic it gets more complicated, mainly because he is about 60 years old, so he is at risk.
Even with the end of the quarantine in Japan, it doesn't mean that everything is normal.

Togashi is 54. Of course probably still at risk, but just wanted to clarify that ^^

I thought Agravity was at 12k?

Maybe they will see the sales of Mitama this month to see if they will keep it or cancel it depending on its growth.
Maybe Jump wants Agravity at the bottom because its a gag, and it still did get some promotion on twitter due to its official account.

There is a lot of factors for both of them, and idk which one will survive.

>The young writers who support Jump, Jujutsu Kaisen, Act-age... the discovery of newcomers in the crisis-stricken editorial department was a success Oricon.
>The two-year-long series has transcended the limits of manga, but it is also the result of the editorial department's efforts to discover newcomers.
>The editorial department unanimously decided to publish the series "Jujutsu Kaisen" and recorded the unusual sales as a new writer. It also mentions that Akutami was born 1992. The editorial department also realistically think the sales will jump from 4.5mil to 10mil with the anime

There is this trend of romcoms/ecchis always having bad endings.

So it shouldn't be too big of a shock regarding the ending for Yuuna.

The quarantine hasn't ended in Japan? I thought only some areas have eased out of the quarantine but not all yet. I heard Tokyo is on alert again.

As much as I want him to I don’t believe Togashi is coming back. Even if he does it’ll probably only end up being a few chapters. But, I’ll be satisfied if we get even a single chapter at this point.

He’ll come back at some point. He himself said that he vows to finish HxH before he dies.

Do I think he’s going to finish it? Nope. But I do think he’ll come back a few times before retiring or giving up

Hmm...

Do you think there's a chance for volume extra chapters for Yuuna Volume 24? I mean...Miura has drawn up those before with Koisome Momiji. That's what a few from the Yuuna fandom are hoping, to at least provide more closure.

I don't know if you can put Yozakura as a battle shonen.
In 38 chapters he had no significant fights unlike Mashle who in 18 chapters had 3 significant fights.
