Makai's sales have melted my brain, I don't even know what to think other than "please let me read it!"
I wanna elaborate:
Iruma: For a week, it conquered the entire Kimetsu Wall of Backlogs (Volume 20's the latest), barely placing outside of the Top 5 and 70k. That's honestly incredible. I want to see how well Volume 17 can hold with this extremely hot start. It sold 20k more than the last volume. Two days is a while, though, and there's also the lockdown to consider. Even with these factors, I still think the series has grown and will continue to grow, especially with its spinoff also getting off to an amazing start and the anime re-running. Speaking of:
Makai: Again, it's an Iruma collab with some pretty popular YouTubers, so naturally this was going to sell quite a bit. But... it's almost on par with Iruma! Makai's first volume is the second-highest selling first week this year, beating out even Yowamushi and Beastars! We already have a contender for the biggest currently running WSC manga. The BIG question is if it can grow, but considering the fact that the manga sold out almost instantly bodes really well for it!
Boku no Kokoro: Limited edition sales seem rather impressive. Now add the regular edition's Shoseki estimations and you get
67,503 total copies sold, putting it almost right in the middle of Makai and Iruma. Last volume sold 12,790 Week 1 and the volume before sold only Granted, there were 10 months in-between each volume, so plenty of time to grow. But it's no less impressive. And again, it's only going to grow mroe as it keeps getting attention, as it manages to be a top contender for numerous awards.
