Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

To explain quickly the total of votes since i made the change in the traditional poll for this issue, like i said last Sunday, i changed the number of points in the poll from 1 to 3, so each vote in that poll counts as 3 points, if X manga got 5 votes in the poll, each one will count as 3 points, so basically "5x3 = 15", after this i count the total of points for each series in the comment votes taking in count the positions you guys put each series, so if that X manga got 30 points in the comment, i add to the 15 and get 45 points in the total, simple!

UU deserves that placing with that amazing chapter. I truly hope (and believe) it and Mashle will be here for a long time

I'm kinda happy Neverland at least had its two last chapters reasonably well-received here, so it went out in a sorta high note.

So it's not true that's not liked

You have done nothing but yelling about an alleged hatred that Boruto has from the beginning.

I asked you to bring evidence and you didn't.

I asked you to bear testimony of this hate and you didn't.

You only brought sales that mean nothing since we are talking about the initial response which in your opinion was negative.
I've already shown the evidence, you don't want to see it and stay in this chase.

Mengo Yokoyari, the mangaka of Scum's Wish and Oshi no Ko, did some fan art and promoted Agravity Boys Volume 2 release and its Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Award nomination.

Not saying it'll be badly received, just saying there's just no point in hyping it up as a new success yet when flops have gotten the same thing.

I'm pessimistic about all new series, currently Mashle and Undead seem like they'll stick around long term but they're still new, and it's possible they'll stop feeling fresh to readers and fail to grow after this or will have a bad arc that makes everyone stop reading. There's plenty of series that got cancelled around ch 40-70 after a decent-strong start after all.

The way I see it, we generally know by ch 11 or 12 if something's going to survive the first couple batches, but it's not really until ch 40 to 50 that you can tell something's a proper hit or not.
I mean TPN pulled an instant hit but that is ofc super rare. It takes something unique to keep the attention of the readers like for other examples chainsawman

The massive drops in sales with every volume = Disinterested readers.
Implying poor reception.

Not sure why you're going around this logic and debating this when you have followed this forum for years and know this.

Boruto isn't a veteran losing steam, it's simply not being liked by a large portion of the initial number of people who picked it up.
If you like Boruto, that's fine. But doesn't mean the reception one can gauge from the massive decline in sales is anything but positive.

Shoseki Daily Ranking - 6/20

#43 Jujutsu Kaisen 11
#56 Chainsaw Man 7
#85 Jigokuraku 10

Ugh, UU fell out of the 500 again after being in 3XX while Mashle rose and Yozakura entered the 500s again? I really start to think WSJ has given different amounts of prints because it is easier to stay in the Top500 if you got a supply to keep selling from whereas series without such a supply are depending on deliveries to the bookshops and online sales to increase their numbers which is why Yozakura and UU fall out and get back in as the number of their supply either diminishes or rises.

And this is why I don't get the need for a 3 point in poll need because now we got 6 4th places but only 1 5th place with one point. So GotW and WNL both have 6 points when it would be 2 whereas UU and CSM have 18X when it would be around 120-140 which would still be incredible large. I liked the point system more when getting over 100 points is a big deal and not something that happens regularly as you could give your fave manga 18 points in total if you wanted to.
Hope we get to 50+ voters sometime soon~

It’s basically saying Chris is the “heroine”. Have to admit, his artwork is even more convincing to sell it.

That's most probably not the case. One factor that we should look at is that the second volume got an on-hand reprint, while the first one got reprints sent out to bookstores immediately. This means the second volume sold well, but didn't sell as well as they expected so they are being conservative with reprints. On the other hand, Mashle 1 got reprints that will be all sent out to bookstores while still being able to mantain its sales and not dropping out of Shoseki. If Undead Unluck 2 is having real stock issues we would see a different kind of reprint now and reprints that would be going out faster.

I meant it more like mashle got 30k deliveries to stores whereas UU got like 20k, so some stores would have less UU to sell than Mashle meaning over time they can sell more Mashle volumes constantly than of the 2nd Volume of UU, which obviously is not in high demand so resupply happens less urgent there.

There's no logic behind this statement. Going by estimates, Undead Unluck 1 sold a bit over 15,000 copies in a month, while volume 2 sold almost 18,000 copies in two weeks. However, the first volume got reprints ordered a few days after its release and were sent out to bookstores, while it took them two weeks to order reprints for the second volume and those reprints are being stored by the magazine. There is not as much urgency for the second volume.

Jump is out! And with it goes the Guardian of the Witch. Oh, how the table turns. Couldn’t even join the U19 club.

The chapters in Manga Plus just came out, and the chapter for this week's TPGW was VERY strange. I didn't understand the author's objective with this strange rush, has it been canceled already? probably not but i don't know any other possibility than that.

Kinda happy with the direction TPGW’s taking. I think the twist was already in the works from the beginning, I just wish it didn’t take this long to get here. I would’ve had the twist take place one or two chapters earlier.

Magu-chan was....charming, at least. I think it’s going to be gag/SoL, which is not really my cup of tea, and me following the series depends on how it differentiates itself from similar manga.

AT had a standard chapter. It’ll either take a MoW format and stay that way or eventually lead into an overarching arc at some point.

Sooo, Mashle ... I guess this is what people would call FIRE, huh?

I already had this premonition with Magu which was pretty obvious in of itself, but my enjoyment is going to hinge on the blob comletely. With that said, cute magu-blob.

Not much to take from Ayakashi, it was just ... itself.

My interest has been rekindled in Time Paradox. Interesting development.

Really liked this week's TPGW chapter, the twist could lead to a strong, more serious direction and I'm excited. I'm guessing this is the point they begin to explore the Paradox element of the story and I hope it will only get better from here. Some of the side characters are super enjoyable to watch and I liked the wholesome interactions in this chapter.

magu chan looks much more like a slice of life than a comedy gag itself.
I partly agree, I could see Magu-chan going in the direction of slice of life. I really liked this first chapter, thought it was cute. Though I do think it is a pretty similar premise to Moriking, with the alien-creature trying to live with a human, depending on the next few chapters it might not be as much of an episodic gag as Moriking is which would allow it to differentiate itself.

I have to say, Mashle has been consistently improving for me, and the art in this chapter was great, especially compared to the first chapters. Finally Mash has a real competitor - I've been enjoying the serious moments lately and I'm truly hyped for some of the future fights.

Okay, so just got done reading Magu-chan: God of Destruction, and I *really* liked it a lot.

That was very heartwarming, and the dynamic between Ruru and Magu-chan was really refreshing.

It's strange, I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did.

Magu-Chan was actually entertaining. Almost entirely because of the titular character himself, though I also liked a few moments with the female MC as well. I can see this become more heartwarming over time, I guess. Not sure how to feel about that right now, and the art could use some work, but I’m interested in seeing where this goes. Could be pretty enjoyable and solid. 6 or 7 for me? I’m not sure yet, but Magu really made an impression for now.

Yeah, Ayakashi is definitely gonna be a Monster Of The Week type thing. Which, to be honest, I actually don’t mind right now. I know that may be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I think that this format allows to Introduce the world and characters so we can build a connection, which future arcs can leverage. In this case, I still enjoy the relationship between the main leads, and I’m kinda glad that the antagonist seems to be sticking around, as I find him pretty fun. Also curious about the new characters as well.
