Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

It's cool seeing Mashle and Undead still hanging around on the chart on their third week.

Unrelated but had a thought, what WSJ series has the most spinoffs and sequels and such? My guess is Otokojuku since it has

  1. the original
  2. three or four different sequels
  3. a full length prequel
  4. maybe 5 or 6 short spinoffs about random other characters
  5. and I think some gag spin-offs too
Miyashita's like the Fukumoto Nobuyuki of jump, he just keeps having more and more random connected series.
Kinnikuman and yu gi oh probably have the most canon sequels under shuiesha while saint seiya has the most in general. Also while dragon ball doesn’t have a lot of official canon manga sequels other than super it has a crap ton of spin offs. SD, Heroes, yamcha, and gt manga adaptation just to name a few.

Kinnikuman for sure

-Ramenman spinoff (12 volumes, later republished)
-Bunch of Nisei one shots
-Nisei
-Kinnikuman Nisei spin off serialized in V-Jump
-Kinnikuman Lady
-2011 manga
-Also the Kinnikuman one shots in Grand Jump

I'm sure there's more out there.

With a reboot, Kinnikuman can likely hit 100+ million copies in print

All series have faling sales.

And anyway no, haven't you answered my questions yet?

Was there really a negative response in Japan?

For me, no, otherwise it would never have lasted until today.
Yeah, all series' sales graphs look like this clearly

And what does this have to do with it?
The Kimetsu volume 21 leak came from the leaks of this issue, just like the chapters. If the MHA cover is not in this issue how do you expect it to be leaked?

Until now it lasted much longer because of anime than for the manga.
So it's not true that's not liked

And I answer your questions yes.
You want to make me answer you the way you want.
You have done nothing but yelling about an alleged hatred that Boruto has from the beginning.

I asked you to bring evidence and you didn't.

I asked you to bear testimony of this hate and you didn't.

You only brought sales that mean nothing since we are talking about the initial response which in your opinion was negative.

To explain quickly the total of votes since i made the change in the traditional poll for this issue, like i said last Sunday, i changed the number of points in the poll from 1 to 3, so each vote in that poll counts as 3 points, if X manga got 5 votes in the poll, each one will count as 3 points, so basically "5x3 = 15", after this i count the total of points for each series in the comment votes taking in count the positions you guys put each series, so if that X manga got 30 points in the comment, i add to the 15 and get 45 points in the total, simple!

MANGAHELPERS POLL ISSUE #28 (2020) - VOTING RESULTS

1. Undead Unluck 20 - 187 Votes
2. Chainsaw Man 73 - 182 Votes
3. My Hero Academia 275 - 116 Votes

5. Jujutsu Kaisen 110 - 91 Votes
6. Act-Age 116 - 84 Votes
7. Ayakashi Triangle 1 (New Series) - 80 Votes
8. The Promised Neverland 181 (Final) - 74 Votes
9. Moriking 8 - 74 Votes
10. Spy x Family 28 - 65 Votes
11. Mission: Yozakura Family 39 - 60 Votes
12. One Piece 982 - 58 Votes

What the hell are you on about?
The series has been massively bleeding readers literally since chapter 1. It is still massively bleeding readers as we speak. How is this not an index of poor reception?

Unless there's a link with a interview with Nakano or the authors stating something, please stop spreading false claims about why Boruto was moved to V Jump when no one but the authors and editors really knows, btw, in the end is pretty unlikely that the manga would be published for 10 years on WSJ even if it was selling like 500k or something, WSJ is a weekly magazine, not a monthly, by the sales logic World Trigger wouldn't have been moved to SQ but kept on WSJ as a monthly series, Boruto moving for a monthly magazine was just a thing bound to happen.

Sure, I can edit it out, it doesn't make really any difference to my point anyways. Boruto's readership has been freefalling ever since it began in Japan, this isn't news (although some Boruto fans sure are trying their hardest to make it look like that isn't the case by botting m+). Also, World Trigger got moved out because of the author's wishes due to his health, he was offered to keep it on WSJ but go on hiatus IIRC.

Yes, it makes a difference because it's spreading false claims just like people still do about Bleach being canceled because of sales when Kubo himself debunked a long time ago, you don't know why the series was moved to another magazine but is trying to connect into sales to fit a narrative without proof of it.

Like I said, it makes no difference to my point, which is simply that the series' reception was and is poor in Japan (at the very least in manga form), which is why it continously bleeds readers. It does make a difference in general which is why I removed since as you rightly pointed out I don't have proof on the reason it was moved out and should not have thrown it there as an objective fact.
