Magu-chan got an even better second chapter. I guess it'll compete with Moriking since it's the most similar

Lol at dolphin cop.
Also, that's some misleading advertisement you got there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The little girl isn't even that important compare to dolphin cop to be in the pv or colour page.
Tamura new manga's first chapter is somewhat funny in the same way Hungry Marie's first chapter was kind of funny with all the lol random humour. Still has no clue how this will continue, case of the day structure?

I gotta comment more to make my votes worth so some random things.
Act-Age: Love it, the most intense manga in Jump for me and is about acting, always is good some variety.
Agravity Boys: Like it since chapter 1. Some chapters more than other but overall it make me laugh all the time.
Ayakashi Triangle: Whatever the story is always will like to see Kentaro Yabuki doing echi (there whas some talk about Kentaro and doing echi, well there is an interview in the 18 vol of TLR and is pretty clear that he love echi, Hasemi was shocked of how lewd the designs of the characters where when Kentaro show him)
Black Clover: Really really like it. Now that Neverland is gone is the only one along Act-Age with a female protagonist (Yonagi and Noelle)
Bone Collection: A nice read, don't know why some much hate here.
Chainsaw Man: What to say, really like it in the begining but get less and less invested in it whit every chapter. Always some much change and twist that never to enjoy anything because is gone really quick.
Dear Sa-chan: Never see you talk about it, go read it if you like to see people and how the related to each-other in relationships. Is abut cheating but not about the cheating itself but how the people react to it.
Hard-Boiled cop...: I am not a big fan of cop thing really so not fan of the chapter and pretty sure the series in the future. And is funny to see that some don't want/like to see something about cop because so bad thing is happening in USA, there is a big world outside of USA and there is problems pretty much every days and that never stop any series to go out. The rest of the world wil not stop for USA in the same ways USA doesn't do for the rest of the world.
Heart Gear: More than a month since the last chapter, please comeback now that I missed you.
Jigokuraku: The best of the best, hope it gets a good anime soon so it gets more popular and can get a official released here in Argentina.
Later the rest

so i am late on this newbie rank.
so yeah. TPGW is story about dream-struggle and success and not about crime and punishment.. teppei is white knight himself (meta reference)

Magu chan, i like it. a lot. feel like moriking, my taste.
Hardboiled cop and dolphin, not so much but still want to read more,

so for the last 2 new batch this is my ranking
moriking > maguchan > bonecollection (this surprise me) > Hardboiled > TPGW > Ay tri

The VS Battles Wiki will have a field day with Moriking.

Who would had expected insect people to be city block busters?

For the most part, this was an extremely strong week for WSJ series. This week's top 5:
1. Mitama Security - Mr. Commentary for the win! Definitely one of the funniest chapters in the last handful. Please don't end!
2. Undead Unluck - Fantastic chapter. Awesome designs for the new characters, interesting environment, and I love how the series even builds upon a lot of small details people would ordinarily gloss over.
3. Moriking - Really funny chapter here. New character is hilarious, but I'm curious how much bigger the cast can get considering the restriction on the number of kings the author implemented early on.
4. Mashle - Pretty awesome chapter. The page with Lemon gave me the chills first time I saw it.
5. Magu-chan: God of Destruction - Great follow-up chapter to the first one. The childhood friend seems like a pretty nice and funny guy, and Magu's interest in humanity (with his special twist to the wordings) is really funny.

The best of the rest:
6. Chainsaw Man - Wild chapter. Interesting development that, while surprising, isn't outlandish whatsoever. Very well-done reveal.
7. Act-Age - Really good chapter, although I felt sad there for the little girl at first. I'm glad we'll be getting a lot more of her with Yonagi in this arc.
8. Mission: Yozakura Family - I had fun with the chapter even though there was no Mutsumi. This side character is starting to warm up to me, and he almost reminds me of someone from Samon.
9. Ayakashi Triangle - Good chapter. Nice fanservice, and I'm interested to see what's going to happen next chapter based on the ending development.
10. We Never Learn - An alright chapter, but too much oncoming suffering for my taste. Uruka route > Sawako route > Fumino route > Rizu mini-route
11. Time Paradox Ghostwriter - The chapter was alright. The development this chapter didn't do much for me one way or the other.
12. Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin - Kind of a weird first chapter. The art is good, but the plot just seems to random and strange. It's going to take a few more chapters for me to get a better idea of what this series wants to be.
13. Bone Collection - One of its better chapters, with the first half being decent while I felt like the conclusion was a bit rushed. Wish the art was better on this.
14. Agravity Boys - Didn't really laugh at all this chapter. If a 4th series needs to go to make room for the robot series, I wouldn't mind seeing this go.

I thought Cop and Dolphin was meh, there's a lot that that get thrown at you
lulrandom humor, ecchi, delinquents, a daughter-fu, slice of life, ocean exploration, a cult, so I can still see this going the Hungry Marie messy route
Tamura seems to have a better plan so I'll wait and see

also, was the promotional art for Cop and Dolphin a bait-and-switch or will Dolphin-chan meet an untimely demise?

about TPGW development, there's no reason for the mc not to reveal what he knows about Aino and how he did he learn about it and work together with her to stop it, that's what any decent human wold do

New J+ series from the Pochi Kuro mangaka Naoya Matsumoto, Kaijuu No.8. Starts July 3.

Neko Wappa pure comf
Pochi Kuro pure comf x2
so what's this? Ziga: Battle Tendency?

anyhow, please be good

never really get punished for it.
Not really, from Shinjuku to the boonies in Okinawa is a pretty harsh punishment.
It likes exile someone from LA to Alaska.

Imagine if male Arale and his Robo are actually the serious battle manga of this batch. Would be the biggest plot twist this year.

Black Clover: Really really like it. Now that Neverland is gone is the only one along Act-Age with a female protagonist (Yonagi and Noelle)
Did you only start reading the series three chapters ago? Because if so, I gotta disappoint you: Noelle isn't the main character at all.

It's not that don't want/like to see something about cops (quite the opposite, I love cop stories). It's that I don't want to see someone who gets paid for protecting people act reckless and endanger them instead.

also, was the promotional art for Cop and Dolphin a bait-and-switch or will Dolphin-chan meet an untimely demise?
I know it sounds horrible, but that would actually improve the story for me. I can't stand the character, and it would give the cop and the girl a reason to develop their relationship.

Not really, from Shinjuku to the boonies in Okinawa is a pretty harsh punishment.
It likes exile someone from LA to Alaska.
But he's still working as a cop, and he's still putting people in danger. How does the fact that he's doing it in the boonies now make it any less bad?

But hey, if the next chapter is about how the both of them have to face internal investigation for their crazy stunt, I'll take back my words.

I know I better thing to do rather than arguing with people who are oversensitive about current political issue. This is just like when people tried to ban lotr two towers because of 911. Yeah, let's just ban every cop related media worldwide regardless of context just because the USA finally realised their police force are full of evil asshole ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

"How does the fact that he's doing it in the boonies now make it any less bad?"
Yes it does. By putting him a place with lower population density and lower crime rate, the mc is less likely to cause trouble with his reckless behaviour.

Secondly, did he actively assault people for no reason? Should he not knock out the knife guy? Should he not stop those funks from driving irresponsibly and injuring bystanders? Wonder what people like you gonna say when cop did nothing to stop crime from happen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

His behaviour is not by the book (still by the book enough to stop the female officer from arresting disobey people on spot), somewhat excessive (still pretty tame compare to shit like 24) and does put surrounding civilians at risk. But in the end, it gets the job done, just like standard hard-boiled fictions. This is problematic as it condones using the end to justify the means, but do you really expect mangaka of Tamura caliber can tackle this with subtlety? Pitfall of parody is turning into what it tries to parody in the first place. And that is what happened with this manga.

Call me back when he assault people for no reason and gun down people for not following his confusing shouting commands ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hot take.

The AT protagonist keeping the main antagonist as a pet is a stupid decision.

What if he can’t keep that cat in check and he escapes?

I brought up the topic a few days ago. But the topic of the manga isn’t bad, nor is there anything wrong with the mangaka making a manga about reckless cops. It’s all fiction and doesn’t reflect any kind of support of promotion of what happens in reality.

However, I would say ppl feeling like this is a bad timing to release a manga like this is reasonable.
Like for myself, a POC, I legitimately have always been terrified seeing a cop drive past me, so while this whole movement is going on it’s a little weird reading a manga about silly reckless cops.

However, like i said, that not to the fault of Jump, Shueisha, the mangaka, viz etc. it’s just really weird timing. And I wonder if it’ll effect the manga’s chance of popularity in anyway( also, someone earlier said “the world doesn’t stop for the US, without realizing the whole movement is going on Worldwide, including in Japan)

Regarding Tamura's new series. I'm sorta disappointed. I guess I just had high expectations.

Yeah. The series and setting itself is fine. It's barely the first thing to do this.
The timing however is truly unfortunate. WSJ should have waited till the last serialization round for this year. Or maybe VIZ should've waited.
Right now, this series literally does everything that will tick people off. From aggressive cops, the weird notion of shooting (even tho it was for another reason), the take on discrimination and racism etc.

Also, in my opinion, Magu-chan outshines this series. Some of Tamura's comedy moments were great like the "want me to throw you a ball or something, huh!?" And then actually having to throw it for the little girl.
The art was solid. He's definitely improved alot since Beelzebub.

But chapter 1 vs chapter 1 - Magu-chan outshines it with its comedy and wholesomeness.
Also, boob jokes are old. It works when the character is someone like Furuichi. But it doesn't work with the new protogonist.

I rated it 6 (I think) because I feel like there is so much potential in the setting. The first chapter however never really went anywhere. So let's see how the next few chapters go.

Remaining chapters for the week
Time Paradox - I wasn't expecting this. It has my attention now. I'm really looking forward to the next chapter

Chainsaw Man - I dunno if this really means end game but we will see. Things are picking up again super fast.

Mashle - Mashle has been going for semi comedy and semi serious for the past 4-5 chapters now. It's working really well. The double spreads in Mashle are always a treat. The Mangaka loves hinting that he is a good artist in every chapter with at least one panel of solid detailed art.

MHA - Hype. This arc feels like the arc leading up to the halfway point of the story. Excited and hyped

Magu-chan - So far, the ending pages of each chapter have been hilarious. I'm hoping this sticks around (unless the next few chapters just nose dive in quality)

You missed this part of my post:
It's not that don't want/like to see something about cops (quite the opposite, I love cop stories). It's that I don't want to see someone who gets paid for protecting people act reckless and endanger them instead.
Secondly, did he actively assault people for no reason? Should he not knock out the knife guy? Should he not stop those funks from driving irresponsibly and injuring bystanders? Wonder what people like you gonna say when cop did nothing to stop crime from happen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
That's the problem though. He should've stopped the crime from happening.

Instead, he tried to pick a fight with a colleague and then went off to go play ball with a little child in the middle of a police intervention. And the dolphin guy was just standing there with his hands in his pockets, saying "This is perfect" as the car was about to crush a mother and child. They even allowed the driver to get back into the car, without ever seeing his license. Who does that?

His behaviour is not by the book (still by the book enough to stop the female officer from arresting disobey people on spot), somewhat excessive (still pretty tame compare to shit like 24) and does put surrounding civilians at risk. But in the end, it gets the job done, just like standard hard-boiled fictions.
Just because it's common doesn't mean we can't critisize it. A lot of things that were 'normal' 50 years ago are no longer so today.

This is problematic as it condones using the end to justify the means, but do you really expect mangaka of Tamura caliber can tackle this with subtlety? Pitfall of parody is turning into what it tries to parody in the first place. And that is what happened with this manga.
But the funny thing is, he was doing it well in the first half. Cop doesn't play by the rules, gets punished for it and complains that you can't be a proper wild-west cop anymore nowadays. That was good parody, as well as a good message. I really liked that part.

Then in the second part, he screws up again (but much worse) and this time it's considered heroic? Like... why??
