Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

How many and which mangakas do you think they will say goodbye to Furudate-sensei in this week's Jump issue?

I think everyone except the newbies

I don't follow HQ (though I should) but what are the chances that Furudate could just come back with a sequel to HQ? Like the world cup or something?
Would be kinda pointless to me. Cause what we got in the last arc was basically the ultimate match. He has shown us everything volleyball has to offer. A world Cup would just be a boring drag. The characters don't have that much room to grow and we saw all of their growth and efforts pay off in the last match :o

Did Miura ever say goodbye to an author whose series ended? Throughout Yuuna's run, I'm sure I remember noticing that Miura often seemed to not give any farewell messages when others all did.

I recall him and Samon's Shun Numa being the only ones not to say anything when Bleach left.

I noticed a few editors for WSJ series also edit Jump+ series.
Are there WYJ editors who edit Jump+ series as well? If so, is it a situation where Jump+ is almost a bridge between the two demographics and thus editors can work in both their assigned paper magazine in addition to Jump+? Or does it go farther and Shueshia editors can work across all magazines?

Also speaking of newbies, it'll be fun seeing what things are like in 2-3 years' time since we have so many starting at once. It's always interesting to see when we get a bunch of new hits every batch or two, and then a clear gap separating it from the next generation.

In the early 2010s we had Nisekoi, Haikyuu, Saiki, Ass Class, Food Wars and World Trigger all starting with at most 20 issues between two of them, but for the rest of the decade we only ever got 3 hits in a row at most before there was half a year or more until the next hit.

currently it seems like we may have the next full-sized generation going between Yozakura, Undead, Mashle, Moriking and hopefully one or two series from the current batch.

It's definitely a weird time in the magazine but probably good to be a newcomer since you'd be against plenty in a similar situation with more spots to grab. However out of those four I'd guess only Mashle is a definite keeper, with Moriking and Undead Unluck probably as well with the way they're going. I feel like there's going to be a lot more cuts on the way before we start to find other newbies that stick around. I wouldn't be surprised if none of the latest four (maybe with the exception of Ayakashi Triangle, to fill the ecchi/romcom quota) survive in the long run.

I would be surprised if he didn't have a goodbye comment for SnS's ending

I have no idea. What I know is that some editors on WSJ also work on Jump+ like the one from Chainsaw Man that works on SpyxFamily and Heart Gear currently.

Mashle seems to be doing really well and it's hilarious to me because even though it's not one of my favorites, I know an asshole who was certain that it was going to do bad just because he dislike the manga. Of course, he has no notion of sales and was surprised when the manga is doing well. That same person of course thought Black Clover was going to fail, all based on their taste.

It's no one from here btw. haha

Updated list of editors with the higher-ups and since we learned who Yozakura's new one is. The only two unknowns now are Ayakashi and Dolphin.
Whoa Nakano launched Nura, Beelzebub and Toriko. But the most impressive is the editor of Chainsaw Man. So many great and good manga he was involved in lauching.

Because it's one of Jump's biggest successes period. It was literally a smash hit out of the gate.
I think his point was that he considers the abbreviation "AssClass" to be weird, not that people are bringing up the manga.

Lmao thats not what I meant. I mean calling Assassination Classroom Ass class is weird. I have only seen being called ass class on this website. When I first saw that I scratched my head in confusion thinking everyone was talking about some revolutionary ecchi manga that I somehow missed
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

What else would you say? Its the easiest short hand, just like OreImo, HaremKing, Oregairu
Yeah I guess but Assassination classroom ain't that long to say. AC is how I shorten it. Anyway I know this isn't important or relevant but I just felt like brining it up cause its kinda funny to me. Sorry :P

It's definitely not just here. Typing ass instead of assassination is just the most natural abbreviation.

Anyway, this is getting off-topic anyway, so let's move on, please.

Last year we had people using BC to refer to Beast Children and Black Clover. Using only the initials when there's only two of them gets confusing (AC is often used to mean air conditioner, or assassin's creed).

Also speaking of initials, I noticed that we have 7 different current manga whose English title starts with M (Magu-chan, Mashle, Me & Roboco, Mission: Yozakura Family, Mitama Secureity, Moriking, My Hero Academia).

You think Jujutsu Kaisen's going to get an English title when the anime gets dubbed? Or will it be one of those series that just keeps the Japanese one?

I was sure all the english ones are used by the JPN originally in the JPN magazine. Mashle is Mashle, BLack Clover is BLack Clover on covers and in the anime...only people that say Boku no Hero Academia, are people that blatantly ignore the english thats apart of the JPN logo and the audio, Mission Yozakura Familiy is written behind the stylized logo.

I dont see one for jujutsu and since its already releasing out of jpn and announced for World Wide Streaming... seems unlikely it'd just get some random translated name.

I think it will keep Jujutsu Kaisen. I know it happens somewhat often but I think adding "Bokuben" to the end of "We Never Learn"'s anime is the only time the official manga and anime English titles have been different for Jump series. Even stuff like Demon Slayer, Food Wars and Yuuna and the Haunted Hotsprings which don't actually translate the title or Nisekoi with only Japanese in the title
