Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I doubt it's either. Manga Plus hasn't had a history of random issues like this and have had unannounced breaks reflected before leaks happen (this past week with MHA for example) so I don't see why we would assume their incompetence. If it was technical issues it would probably be fixed by now (as we know they're aware due to the support convo posted a few pages back).
Personally I think it's the same reason pretty much any unannounced break happens, author was sick and couldn't get the chapter done in time. The only reason people are making a big deal now is because it only started about a month ago and isn't a MHA, Haikyu, Black Clover, etc.
But at least in those series, they put the release date. I know it could be what you said, just trying to dodge the worst case scenarios.

but if it was technical problems, then why was only Magu chan affected?
And I haven't seen any positioning by mangaplus yet.
Well that's exactly why I'm guessing what happened since there's any words from them yet. Just the first thing that just came to my mind, blame the platform lol.

The series is fine. Magu just used his destruction beam on the website and destroyed the release date info to cause chaos while also weeding out the non-believers who wish for the manga's cancellation. Truly the work of our evil, eldritch overlord.

I'd take cancellation over sickness, one is life threatening and the other isnt.

No one was emotionally or physically attached to Magu Chan and it hasn't been with us long for it to have any type of fandom.

I'd just put your faith and hope in the writer and artist and encourage them for their next manga.

Don't think anyone will disagree with you. At least, I won't. Physical and mental health over anything else.

The series trailer on youtube has normal likes and about typical views for a new series not by anyone big, so I can't see it being randomly cancelled at ch 5.

I'm still hoping it's just nothing, and is a really weird screw-up on Manga+'s side.

Why would they cancel any new series after 4 chapters without an announcement or even giving a final chapter? Even the worst received manga in the past 10 years got up to at least 10 chapters. The only way I could see a manga getting cancelled this early is either if a mangaka gets arrested, suddenly gets so sick or injured in some way that the series can't be continued in any way or the worst case scenario, if a mangaka suddenly dies.

So imo, I really doubt any manga will get cancelled due to low popularity after 4 chapters. I don't think we should jump to conclusions of potential cancellation too fast. If the mangaka has health issues, it will probably go on hiatus first like any Jump manga that survived usually did.

does anyone consider the transfer hypothesis?
Perhaps the author of Magu chan has not adapted to the weekly routine.

Hi guys anyone here have a chart of how many volume sales One Piece had around volume 40-45? I want to see if One Piece is more successful than Dragon Ball or if it's not.

I think it's going to some hiatus. 4 chapters and end would be a record.

Oricon didn't start tracking sales until volume 50.

well, unlike hiato of Boku no hero, Magu chan doesn't have a return date. Is it an indefinite hiatus?

No sales info at that time for Oricon but you can compare first prints between the two at the time.

Those arent sales but circulation numbers

As others have said. Circulation numbers that are usually shown when Volumes release or in the magazine itself.
Circulation numbers count in a way because the mangaka gets paid for each volume that is printed.

Kimetsu will break this, but there was a post on here that states that with 31 volumes, Slam Dunk is the number one (100-114? million at that time when the post was made)

(The next part come from the OP Tokyo Tower which I and many have posted on here before)
By the end of 2005(?), One piece is at volume 39, for the sake of this argument let's say it counts volume 39 circulation also, then OP has 112 million in circulation
and in 2006 125 million in circulation (again for the sake of this argument, include volume 44)

now, if you trust wikipedia, it says by 2000, Dragonball sold 126 million copies in Japan alone

So both should have the same with a really small margin of difference

Yeah exactly.
Plus Boruto in V Jump. Don't they also have some from Saikyuu?
Just makes it seem like Jump+ is like a bridge for all Jump magazines which has me super curious about how far editor overlap goes.
But I thought Jump + was for the shonen magazines only

Jump + has series from seinen magazine like Ultra Jump (Hello World, World's End Harem: Fantasia) and Young Jump (Oshi no Ko, 100 Kanojo) (which is also quite weird given that Young Jump already has its own web service).

Yes but those are already out on their own magazines so I wouldn't say that, as Jump+ has much more original titles.
