Hello everyone! I'm the new guy in town. Been lurking here since a couple of months, some time ago I discovered Mangaplus and it changed my life. So now I would like to join the conversation, and I thought my first post could be the rundown of this week's chapters, ranked by me:
1. Hard-boiled cop and Dolphin: I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but of all the weirdness currently running on Jump, this is my type of weirdness, the one that sometimes wants to be taken seriously. This week it's explained a bit more what is happening on that island (also loving the beach setting btw) and I like the direction the story has taken. I am accepting the fact that this manga may not get to see next year, but I hope with all myself that my little treasure will have a long run.
2. Time paradox ghostwriter: Out of context, I liked the chapter telling Aino's story. I think that the single chapters are very well written, but the overall story is going too fast. Either axe theory or time-loop theory may be correct, or maybe both.
3. One piece: going with a classic here. The One Piece itself is back into discussion and the new take can improve this saga. I hope all the Koizuki drama hasn't been built for months without a proper pay-off, though.
4. UNDEAD UNLUCK: this may be my current favourite "pure battle shonen", mostly because of the originality and the world setting. As for this chapter...without going too much on the details (how much can we spoiler in this thread?), i feel like the lady has accepted her new friends a little too fast. Nice take on the Power of Friendship, though.
5. Moriking: I prefer this when it is utterly stupid, but I liked how it tried to be emotional and to tell something different. A bit worried for the sudden drop on the ratings.
6. Me & Roboco: generally I don't like it (and i think there are already too much gag mangas in Jump), but some jokes have made me laugh, most notably the panel showing the name of the girl.
7. Black Clover: I started this "in medias res" with the Mangaplus offer of chapters 200-240 for free, from some week ago. So I don't know much about the power of the protagonist, but I just hope he's not meant to lose control, it's a very used trope.
8. Magu-chan: God of Destruction: I like it a lot in general, not so much this week. It's at its funniest when the titular character is on the scene, and this week he had only 3-4 pages of screentime. Better luck next week.
9. Haikyuu!!: before you start screaming at me, it's ranked so low just because i haven't read the series, but I was curious about the final chapter. So for me it was just a classic "Where are they now?" epilogue, if I grew with it i would have probably felt a lot more emotional (big fan of Eyeshield 21 btw).
10. Mashle: Another generally good series with an average chapter. I think it doesn't do serious parts as well as it does comedy, and I find a little too focus on Lance at the moment (who would really need some variety in his powers). Let's wait for the protagonist to take the stage once again.
11. Bone collection: enjoyed it when it tried to be funny, a bit less now that it's taken a darker tone. Like others, I feel it's rushing or changing because of axe fear, but unlike others I don't think it's building a finale. It feels like a condensed major arc, but not like a final arc. I am also curious about the girl with glasses and her role.
12. Ayakashi triangle: this is just...not my genre. I can understand how it may become popular and grow its fanbase, but I am not feeling entertained by this story now and I don't know if I'll ever be in the future.
As for the other series...I just havent' catched up with them since I started reading manga with Mangaplus. I will probably get on par with some eventually.
