I just read on reddit that they apparently already didn't get along before this incident happened. They unfollowed each other on twitter at some point and apparently Matsuki didn't want to sign his name on an art piece drawn by Usazaki at an event.

This would also make me question that Usazaki could continue on her own. Because if they didn't get along, I doubt Matsuki would want her to continue on her own. Then again, it's hard to tell whether he could have a word in this in case he ends up in jail. We can only hope that he told Usazaki at some point how he plans to conclude the current arc and the story, so she could write the rest of the story herself. Either way, there will most certainly be at least a hiatus.

A google search already reveals a lot about that: ""The "obscene act" prescribed in the Japanese criminal law, means an act that stimulates sexual desire, such as a forceful physical contact, kissing or undressing."

Thanks, I was about to ask if anyone here was well-versed enough in Japanese law to know what exactly ''indecent act'' implies in this context.

Oh dear. I somehow have impression a lot of people on this forum think Jump is some kind of Merryland which exist in parallel universe. Sad but such things happen in real life. There is no guarantee it can not happen with mangakas

Incident happened back in June according to the article, one can only imagine how many girls he's sexually assaulted, this is also the 3rd WSJ mangaka who's been ousted as a pedophile in recent years...Shima, Watsuki, and now Matsuki.
