Basically, we couldn’t talk about Hokkaido Gals here prior to the MangaPlus pickup announcement but now we can.

One less from Jump+, even if known for a while. Now let's see if they keep filling with + or next one is from SQ.

I noticed something on the app’s layout:

If you go to MangaPlus’s Featured Section, the first three sections are “Weekly Shonen Jump”, “Jump Plus”, and “Others”.

To me this sounds like there’s an ongoing effort to being over popular or new Jump Plus manga to the MangaPlus service. There may be some Jump Square stuff coming, but that isn’t as much of a priority.

I'm pretty sure everything on Manga+ (at least in English) that's not a Jump+ series or Hinomaru/David/I'm From Japan is provided by Viz so I think this is at least currently the case. I hope we can get a more expansive library of Jump related titles.

The Featured Section has been like that since the site launched last year (though I believe there used to be a SQ section, lol). I assume they're slowly working on bringing over every series that they listed on that recent user survey (which included Hokkaido Gals and like 7 other Jump Plus series versus two SQ ones).

EDIT: Kemono Jihen and Kono Oto Tomare! were the two SQ series on the user survey. I wonder if they want to bring on Kemono to promote the upcoming anime adaptation (I thought it was weird that VIZ licensed Moriarty but not that).

That is essentially the purpose of Manga+ after all, at least how I see it. To have more Jump+ series running alongside WSJ since Viz don't focus on them much.

That was a surprise, i didn't thought they would ever add Dosanko after all this time, but really, where the hell is "Kill Me" by Yasuhiro Kano? only 14 chapters at the moment and is being done by the spanish side, maybe they are working on it.

They should ask @Shinuki no Reborn to open a pool to decide the translations

Kkkkk ironically this one i don't mind the translation, isn't perfect but at least isn't like Phantom Seer that was just created out of nowhere instead of based in the original

That means you would only comment on Jump Plus topic about manga that aren't officially translated.

Most likely some of them will be weeded out early on; low quality/effort ones, things like "two piece", those that break some of the rules etc. Obviously there will still be a number left but not everything is going to reach the judges hand.

I figure with contests like these that they instantly throw out everything that doesn't follow the rules, has too low quality art, is far too short, or has little effort put into it (which probably narrows things down a lot).

There's not much point in judges reading submissions that obviously have no chance of winning.

I dunno honestly. I feel like it was always meant to be the last place gag but since Isobe's author is coming back, then maybe it won't after all. And a part of me suspects it's gonna get a high first rank, based on the current trend so far.

Roboco i think will be similar to Time Paradox first ranking, in the middle, not because i don't like, i enjoy the manga but i don't see it being placed really high, it seems more like the typical gag series Jump place more in the second half of the magazine.

I think the start of summer? It was about general use (such as would you pay for back catalog) and happened to include "which of these series would you like us to license"

Yeah. I don't remember the whole list, but it included Hokkaido Gals, Aharen-san, 2.5D Seduction, and Boukyaku Battery. Also Kemono Jihen and Kono Oto Tomare! for some reason.

Darn, I wish I would've seen this. Either way, I'm glad that MangaPlus is finally starting to add some more series again. It went through a bit of a drought for a little while.
