Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Exhibit A of why I said I don't wanna talk about BC's future.
Really not interested anymore in having the same conversations with insecure fans.

Moving on, Mashle 3 vs UxU 3 sales comparisons will be intriguing to see. I still give the edge to Mashle but UxU is definitely up there now
That’s what happens when you have people trying to bill it as something that it’s not. Especially if those people are involved in the production.

All volumes of Food Wars look beautiful on my bookshelf. I wish it had went double its length. It was blast.

Didn't see anybody mention this but backlog for Undead volumes 1 and 2 were both in the top 100 as well, seems plenty of people picked up all 3 at once after the award.

They made top100? Weren't they above 100 the days before? Yeah, that does seem like quite some people decided to buy all 3 volumes at once on the first release day of volume 3.

I know we shouldn’t takes Tabata’s “I want Black Clover to be as long as Naruto” comment as a 100%, “he definitely plans on doing this”. But I think Naysayers don’t consider the possibility of Black Clover ending, and continuing in other Shueisha magazines the same way we’ve seen tons of Jump series do before, like Prince of Tennis, Kinnikuman, JoJo, Kenshin, etc.

Would be totally funny if we saw a “Black Clover Part 2” series in Ultra Jump, and it became a intense and darker Seinen series

You know these are all series that have sold a lot more than Black Clover, yes?

Honestly I don't understand why people insist on denying it, it will end up in two years with 300-350 chapters and it would be a lot for a manga like that ....

I think we can all agree that if BC is given five more years (just as an example) it'll be because of the state of the magazine.

But who knows, maybe they'd allow Tabata to switch magazines if it gets too dire sales wise.

But accept that it ends up like, boh 90% of the manga on the Jump ?

I really don't understand this belief, so much so that it remains to be told by now? It is clear that this will be the final arc.

I dont see how it is the final arc. Origins behind Asta are still unclear and not even the point of the arc, Also there is probably some demon world arc. It easily has five plus more years or more. Also Asta and Yuno are in the middle of their teenage years, they still need to do so much to get to yami age before they can reach the wizard king point of their stories, no way is this the final or something ending in five years.

It should soundedly outlive HeroAca

It’s still a respected series with a dedicated fanbase, with money to be made.

We talk about how respected series gets axed and rushed a lot. But I’m pretty certain if Kubo, Shimabu, and the Food Wars Team, desperately wanted to continue their series in another Shuiesha magazine, even if after a break, they’d be allowed to do so. I’d just imagine most manga creators either completely burned out on their series after 30,40, and 70 volumes, and are either ready to retire completely, or just move on to another series by that point.

If Tabata desperately wanted Black Clover to keep going, I’d imagine that’d be an option for him as long as the series is at least profitable

Volume 22 of Yuuna charted 30k with 5 days of sale (June 3rd release, June 1st-June 7th Oricon weekly)
So Undead volume 3 rises to 30k first week is not a dream if it keeps up like this

My guess is both Mashle and Undead have at least 100,000+ copies in circulation

I don't know if you follow the manga, but the one in progress is clearly the final arc and I don't see how it can continue, also taking into account that Tabata's rhythms are quite fast.

This first week had only 3 days of sale, not 5, so I don't think UU gets to 30k sales in its first week, that would be 10+k per day. That's a lot for such a short time. For now let's be happy that it is growing and hopefully getting a dedicated fanbase for the future. The many fanarts and the votes for it in the newcomer competition are already speaking for the formation of such a base.

I remember when people said the same thing about the Elf Arc.

Yes, it can end after the Spade Arc concludes but it also can not. There are several ways to keep the story going if Tabata and WSJ wishes it so. Just because you "can't see it" doesn't means it doesn't exists.

The thing about Tabata hoping it can be as long as Naruto means he has enough ideas for the story to make it last that long, as opposed to series like Kimetsu that are popular enough to last much longer but get through all the planned story and hit a natural end point.

I'm not sure if Black Clover will ever hit an arc that has the feeling of "this is definitely the end and there's no story left after this", it strikes me more as the DBZ kind of series that'll just keep going with big new arcs until Tabata gets bored or it gets cancelled (which won't happen until after the anime has ended and WSJ has a full roster again which will take years).

Nah elf arc didn't have any hints of ending even more when there was still some mysteries from several characters/kingdoms and now Spade arc is now developing those mysteries.

That didn't stop many people from claiming it was the end. And it's not like we have confirmation that every single mystery of the series will be resolved in this arc. BC's world building is very loose so many new things can be introduced as well.

Oh yeah. 100k circulation is either already achieved or will be with the latest volume

Sorry for the inconvenience, but do you know how the new Boruto volume is doing compared to the previous volumes?
Excuse me if what I wrote right is not understood, I am using google translate.
