No, BenoNacho didn't try to recruit anyone N1 themselves, they said they didn't trust anyone enough at that point. However we were recruited N1 by Santa.

BenoNacho tried to recruit desin N2, failed recruitment.

They went for Gruviiidor N3, and died.

Pretty much, also considering that Santa seems to have only perma role changing gifts then it makes sense to assume one of the 3 role changed one is actually Santa and he either failed once or one of those who died at night have died with a changed role and Santa pounced on that chance.
