Okay, they're sea delinquent. But that does not change the complaint factor of "another exorcist manga", since almost half of the jump magazine is occupied by comedy manga does not make any sense.
This is just basically the "i read everything" syndrome going on specifically about Shonen Jump, imagine if people were able to read everything weekly from Shonen Magazine and Shonen Sunday? it would be "oh my God, SM is saturated with so much romcom" or "I can't stand slice of life series anymore on Sunday".
I absolutely loved phantom seer’s first chapter but the 2 chapters after that haven’t been up to par. I’m still going to give it 10 more chapters to see if it is my type of series but so far I’m not really feeling it.
I personally see no problem with 4 romantic comedies in the magazine and the young jump.

He did like 6/7 consecutive chapters with action and more serious plot, not to mention the many ones before this arc, this is already much more than Amano did with Reborn in 60 chapters before going full action, so i don't see where he "doesn't want" to go for action arcs, also, the series isn't a "romcom" it just have some romantic elements, it would be very "meh" if Gondaira start to create generic romcom drama between Taiyo and Mutsumi, isn't really the point of the series and it would drag it down.
It is desperate, because you see the 8 comedy sleeves you realize that 3 of them Moriking, magu chan and Roboko are exactly alike, both in theme and in history. I do not doubt that the fact that Moriking sold poorly was due to the cannibalization of the other series.
I haven't read Moriking, so not going to comment on that.

You do know that it is entirely possible that moriking did not sell well because people didn't like so they didn't buy it.
but this also applies to cannibalizing, the person saw Moriking and I don't think it was interesting for Roboko or Magu chan and became more interested in them.
Taiyo and Mutsumi are engaged from chapter 1, they love each other from the beginning, they married dozens of chapters ago, they are a couple, they're not romcom main characters who are not together and has yet to tell their feelings to each other, you even have many characters that are "crazy" about her but she don't like any of them so creating cliche romcom drama between the 2 isn't the point of the series because both are already a married couple in love, there's no "rival" in love just a bunch of crazy spies/criminals going after her for many reasons.
So explore this better, don't be doing an isolated chapter every week on a crazy criminal who will only appear once.
