Togashi has been sitting on the completed storyboards of the next 10 chapters for nearly 2 years now lmao
I would take the storyboards honestly. I mean it's not like Togashi hasn't published unfinished art in Jump before..
I laughed hard at "Great Hiatus Arc" XD
At least the story would move forward then. One centimeter at a time.

Honestly, I have the feeling that's the case. We're pretty close to the climax of this current sub-arc (?), so I wouldn't be surprised if Togashi wants to release it all in one stretch so the pacing isn't wonky (the most recent chapter was called "Clash: Part 1", so something big is coming, lol).
I mean Oda just reiterated that One Piece is ending 5 years time in the recent Volume 97 SBS and Hunter x Hunter is in the middle of a big arc and probably due to enter an even bigger one after so there's no way it's ending anytime soon. In terms of timelines it's more of a question of whether Togashi will finish HxH or GRRM will finish ASOIAF first.

I'm assuming they're adapting up to the Kyoto event arc then.
Togashi has to be the one to draw though. Otherwise he will get stressed out not being able to draw in a way that satisfies him and would feel like he doesn't have complete control so I don't see why he'd let one of his assistants do it, even if he's providing corrections. He talked a lot about this and his struggle with YYH's serialization so I recommend reading that.
