Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I'm happy for Jujutsu. One of the best right now in WSJ and definitely deserves all the attention it can get.

But I can't help but be cautious about the fandom wars and toxicity that comes with the mainstream popularity.
Well, isn't like the own fans don't set things up, i was quickly reading the comments for the first episode on MAL (didn't watched yet but read part of the manga) to see and the amount of typical "this isn't the typical battle shounen..." or "this is like Hunter x Hunter" from manga readers was cringe enough, Tower of God fans used these two same arguments a lot of times and didn't make any favour to the series in the end, sometimes i just wish manga fans wouldn't do these things, let people enjoy for what it is instead of making comparisons in order to try impress everybody and pretend isn't a typical battle shounen from Jump in the end

Both Tower of God & God of Highschool.

Trending means nothing.
I would say it’s a big thing for an anime to trend in the US. it’s not really very telling for how popular an anime will be in the grand scheme. In the case of both Tower of God and God Of High School, they both dropped the ball hard and their reception became extremely mixed at best the longer they ran.

With Jujutsu we know the quality of the source material already, the seems to be on a good production schedule, with a good director. And it being 24 episodes tells us it’ll be well pace(probably).

So I can see it maintaining its Western hype and trending many more times, and growing its fanbase as it get to some of the more hype stuff

I can also see Panda becoming a big meme

JJK is definitely your typical/traditional battle shonen (much like MHA/Kimetsu/BC/etc) and I also have a hard time understanding the frequent HxH comparisons that the series gets. I love both series but there's hardly anything in common between the two.

Soft seinen,😅😅 Oh God you just made my day . I remember seeing someone saying that he hates shonen manga and that his favorite manga were Claymore, Ashita no Joe, hunter x hunter and death note. When he was told those where all shonen he responded with "they are seinen in spirit" 😂

Congratulations, Jujutsu fans, you're on your way to hitting the mainstream and following the path that HeroAca and Demon Slayer took to anime stardom. Well on your way to help represent anime in the 2020s.
JJK has also been Trending Topic in Spain, which has surprised me totally (for Spain I see OP and MHA being Trending Topics sometimes but is more difficult for the other Jump manga-anime).

Damn those are some really nice numbers for Burn the Witch and Ayakashi to start on, wonder what shoseki and their holds are going to look like.

What does this phrase even mean? Yeah jjk is on the more violent side and has a dark ambiance but even then there have been a lot more violent shonen series, even in shonen jump (jojo, HxH, and FOTNS just to name a few). Also, if it ran in a seinen magazine its seinen, if it ran in a shonen magazine its shonen, no in betweens.

It's mocking these type of memes(atleast I hope it is) :

Basically it's for people who don't know what demographic means and think it's a genre.
