If she is paranoid she should have gotten a result every night unless she was blocked. If we believe marmalade why did shad block farfalla so she coulnt confirm herself? But she went for sakura though and not scav.

1. Marm lied. She is not a Spy and didn‘t check Shad. Shad is telling the truth. Marm is Mafia, Shad is town.
2. Shad lied. He really targetted Farf. But I fail to see which mafia role would/could target Farfalla without her dying.
3. Both are telling the truth -> Marm is Paranoid Spy.

I interpreted this as if a paranoid spy gets a result, it’s randomized.

From the rules thread:

Spy (Townie): The Spy has the ability to spy on someone at Night and find out who they targeted. Does not, however, find out their target's actual Night Action. (GAME 31)
Paranoid Spy (Townie): The Paranoid Spy has the ability to spy on someone at Night and find out who they targeted, but does not find out their target's actual Night Action. His result however is a randomized player name. He does not know about his sanity. (GAME 37)

IMO two options. Either Marms is incriminating Shad (protecting Farf indirectly) or Shad lied about his target. Barkeeper does not exist anymore so there are no switcheroos.

In all cases a normal Spy wouldn‘t get a result, Paranoid would also get no result. In all cases a normal Spy would get a result, Paranoid‘s result is a randomized living player name for roles that target living players, and a randomized dead player name for roles that target dead players

Actually there is a very real possibility here.

Wasn‘t changed, but clarified like 1-2 years back and that‘s correct, Paranoid Spy only randomized a result if the target had an action a normal Spy would see.
