Doing a list of what Jump licenses we have and we don't have in Spain
WE HAVE
-Mazinger Z
-Kochikame (but not the entire manga but the 40th anniversary pack which is 10 volumes)
-Dr.Slump
-Captain Tsubasa
-Hokuto no Ken
-Dragon Ball
-City Hunter
-Saint Seiya
-JoJo
-Video Girl Ai (I think is already an old edition, not sure)
-Dragon Quest Daiboken (a very old edition for sure, I wouldn't be surprised the mysterious classic license here would be the new edition of this)
-Slam Dunk
-Yu Yu Hakusho
-Kenshin
-Yu-Gi-Oh
-I''s
-One Piece
-HunterxHunter
-Shaman King
-Naruto
-Bleach
-Ichigo 100%
-Death Note
-Gintama (I think it stopped at like volume 20, not sure)
-Hitman Reborn (I also think it stopped at like volume 20)
-D.Gray-man
-To Love-Ru
-Toriko
-Kuroko no Basket
-Nisekoi
-Assassination Classroom
-Shokugeki no Soma
-My Hero Academia
-Black Clover
-Kimetsu no Yaiba
-The Promised Neverland
-Dr.Stone
-Jujutsu Kaisen
WE DON'T HAVE (in bold the really key, very important titles with +50 million sales)
-Otoko Ippiki Gaki Daisho (for never ever)
-Harenchi Gakuen (actually surprising since we have an editorial 100% dedicated to Go Nagai)
-Ring ni Kakero
-Cobra
-Kinnikuman
-Sakigake Otokojuku
-Rokudenashi Blues
-BASTARD
-Sexy Commando Gaiden
-Hoshin Engi
-Rookies
-Prince of Tennis
-Eyeshield21
-Hikaru no Go
-Haikyuu
In resume:
-Starting 2008 practically EVERY Jump manga that exists has been coming to Spain. The sole exception is Haikyuu because spanish editorials got scared at spokons after Kuroko failing. But I think Haikyuu manga could come soon too (I saw Haikyuu translator in Selecta Vision asking people if they would buy it this week on Twitter)
-Practically all Jump classics are here, from 1981 to 1998 (except the Morita titles, Sakigake, and Hoshin Engi) (is amazing how despite having 60 million copies in circulation, Rokudenashi Blues seems like it doesn't exist in history of Jump here in Spain).
-However, the Jump big titles pre-1981 (aka Kinnikuman, Cobra and Ring ni Kakero) aren't there
-And now the big paradox, Jump titles between 1999 and 2007 lie in a strange desert. Not Prince of Tennis, not Eyeshield21, not Neuro, not Sket Dance, not Black Cat, not Hikaru no Go, Reborn and Gintama are incomplete, I think D.Gray-man is also incomplete (for some reason Ichigo 100% is here though)

Yeah. I'd even say Prince of Tennis is really minor here in Spain compared with the other Jump spokon. I hope times does the work and people here start getting interested in PoT.
You don't read it anymore so how could you possibly see the world building being explored? Every arc is full of world building, but especially the last few.
It'll be a sad day when Agravity Boys ends.
Is it? We often get to see different places, sure, but it's usually just snapshots without context. We have very little idea of how the universe at large works.
It works well enough for a comedy series, but I wouldn't call it great world building.
Regarding the Mashle thing, the last battle chapters have definitely managed to balance out the comedy and action bits of the series, to me at least, definitely hope Komoto keeps this proper balance from here on out
Not to me. I loved the last chapter, but not because of the (lack of) comedy.
I disliked the two chapters before that because it switched from dead serious to completely silly and back so suddenly it gave me whiplash.
The last time the comedy and action felt balanced to me was in the early fights of this arc, when Mash was still doing/saying funny things during the battle. I hope they go back to that, or better yet, I hope they alternate serious fights with lighter moments of the group in the classroom or something. (The monster-hunting exam also had a nice balance, IMO. And it didn't last long enough to drag. Can we have more missions like that?)

This fun situation where the two best licenses in Spain in this Barcelona Salon 2020 have been City Hunter and this special edition of Yu Yu Hakusho lol
And it seems a third classic Jump manga is coming. Two editorials said they were fighting for a classic Jump manga, everybody thought on Yu Yu Hakusho special edition, but after this reveal we know it isn't Yu Yu Hakusho. Kinnikuman at least? Prince of Tennis by any some sort of miracle?
Nope, these reprints were scheduled half a month ago. They never post about the reprints on the day they are ordered, but on the day they are sent out. It's stated on the tweet and the drawing that the reprinted volumes are only the already published ones so no reprints for volume 5 yet. Also, these reprints are only going to warehouses.
That's the shounen manga ranking. In the general ranking, they are at #187 and #287, respectively. Meanwhile, Yozakura is at #1543 and Shakunetsu is at #1630.

That doesn't seem too bad once you put them next to Yozakura and Dolphin. I'm starting to wonder if Roboco and Magu will do better digitally that with physical sales, especially if they both end up ranking lower than Yozakura and Dolphin on Shoseki
There's been an update to our forum rules to broaden crediting/sourcing to all series news/announcement, etc. Please read HERE
