These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

A bit late but here are my thoughts and predictions for WSJ (and some J+) in 2020
One Piece hits chapter 100k and manages to squeak out 3 volumes next year, Wano ends late in the year, and breaks remain relatively consistent in frequency to what they are now
MHA remains stable, S5 provides a slight boost but nothing significant, S6 announced for late 2022
BC continues it's trajectory but with no signs of ending, anime announced to end after it finishes adapting the current arc in the manga (whenever that ends)
Dr Stone keeps up through 2021, looks to possibly end in 2022. S3 announced for 2022
WNL ends of course
JJK continues to grow as a pillar of the magazine, S2 announced for 2022
CSM ends very early 2021, full anime adaptation announced for 2021
Yozakura is the hardest one for me to predict. If you asked me a month ago I'd say odds were slightly for ending next year, but as of late I'd lean the other way. For it's first year rankings were pretty unstable, only got a few CPs and sales have already been passed by newer series, but it did better than the other newbies. But now with some really strong rankings it looks like it may stick around, at least through next year
Agravity ends early 2021
Mashle continues to grow, anime for 2022 announced by Perriot
Undead grows, less than Mashle but develops a more dedicated fanbase, anime also announced for 2022
Moriking is axed for Sakamoto (unless WNL is ending for it like HQ did for Roboco)
Ayakashi grows, eventually settles around the Yuuna line in the ToC
Magu gets axed around spring 2021
Dolphin manages to last until around spring/summer 2021 but gets axed after being a bottom dweller for months
Roboco manages to stay ahead of the bottom dwellers and ends up in a similar situation to Yozakura
Phantom also manages to survive at least until mid next year, dependent on how many new series flop super hard
HSF eventually takes the ending gag slot
Blood Oath gets U19'd
Build King lasts until at least fall 2021, hard to call after that
Sakamoto, unless it flops super hard, lasts until mid 2021 using meatshields that are ending
HxH does return, but very late into the year (at least fall)
BTW S2, also gets an anime to go with it
Kimetsumania keeps up, wall gradually starts to fall by the middle of the year but springs back up with S2
SxF anime announced for late 2021, provides moderate boost
Jigokuraku ends 2021, anime announced for 2022
Kaiju8 sells well with vol 1, gradually declines after the first few volumes and ends with around 12 total
Ghost Reaper also sells well but continues to grow
Ron Kamonohashi sells incredibly well
WSJ has at least 3 U19 members next year
10-14 new series next year

2020 was a very interesting year for jump, coming off a relatively weak 2019 for new series and having bunch of established series ending in 2020. A very transitionary year, but also a very entertaining one, between the gagbowl, Kubo's return (as well as Yabuki, Tamura, and Nakama's) and some other promising new series. But it also had some less fortunate stuff like the Act-Age scandal and Sam8 flopping. But with promising new series like Mashle, UxU, Ayakashi, I am pretty optimistic about 2021 for the magazine and I look forward to what it becomes in the next few years. I expect it to be harder on the newbies next year seeing that there's no established series ending to save them aside from CSM and WNL early in the year. Top picks for authors to return are Shinohara, Kawada, and Sorachi (who I'm completely fine with taking a good long break after Gintama). Matsui too, of course. What I'll miss the most though from 2020 is Mitama Security, as series that somehow became one of my favorites in the magazine, even more than some established series. Long live the salmon empire

Like i mentioned before, tricky first day, vol.4 was able to break Yaiba wall and be at 16th but vol.5 had 16 Yaiba volumes and 8 JJK volumes above, so is quite hard to get a idea of the performance, will have to wait for the next days to compare

Yozakura Family:

Vol.1: #40
Vol.2: #47
Vol.3: #41
Vol.4: #16
Vol.5: #43

Not bad numbers, would look a lot better without the backlog walls, eager for sales numbers to get a better idea. Magu starting above Yozakura and Roboco is surprising, not a fan of the series but good for its fans.

idk, his headand hair feels way too big for his body. Like some sort of Komatsu/Quasimodo hybrid.
Then again, I feel UxU has similar issues with proportions with every single character and its successful so maybe if the rest of the cast has better designs it'll offset that.
I still wonder if the niche it's going towards isn't already being covered by existing series though.
UxU and M&R both have that retro 80s aesthetic and character designs so those attracted to that may already have their votes set to those series. Meanwhile, series like Black Clover, Dr. Stone, Yozakura Family, Mashle, and Magu-chan are seemingly already consolidating the votes of much younger readers so it's already really competitive in the area.

Plus, I'm not sure who the series is really for. The general premise and one-shot definitely seems geared towards a younger audience. Moreso Takeshi demo geared than Toriko which iirc had a higher number of older Jump readers in that big survey from like 10 years ago discussing Jump demographics and how series do amongst different genders and ages. I'd love to see a new one of those in a few years once the magazine has a stable established lineup.
I'm also not sure kids will really go for Shima's art. M&R doesn't suffer because it's so clean and uncluttered, however Shima can't really have that argued for him even if his art is incredible. I have doubts the series will do well with older readers in the Jump demographic, unless they're already existing fans of Shima.

So it is a good first day for all 3 of them, with Magu even slightly above Yozakura. I don't think it'll hold above it but they should all get acceptable sales at least, which will probably be the final nail in the coffin for Agravity Boys. Its only hope for survival was if most of the new stuff sells significantly worse than it does which isn't going to happen now.

When do Phantom Seer, High School Family, and Blood Oath's first volumes release? I'm curious if Agravity Boys has any slim hope left at all to live past the next batch based on if those three all sell terribly.

Honomieru Shounen in December and Bokura no Ketsumei in January. Release date for Koukousei Kazoku's first volume hasn't been announced.

That means it's technically possible for Agravity Boys to survive longer into 2021 if CSM ends in the next couple months, at least of them is a total flop, and they don't kick off 2020 with another big batch.

Not a great chance, but a chance nonetheless.

Hooray for magu chan..!!!!!!!!!!

for 2021
1. JJK will have double digit million sales (10+ M)
1a. so Jump will have 3 manga with 10+ M, KNY, JJK, OP..
2. but jump also only had 4 series in top 10 oricon, worst than any year since oricon started (right?), and thats already include KNY.
3. next year will break this year record for newbie series. 20 series, yeah???
4. yozakura will not had anime adaptation (announcement), its either end or 2022 announcement..
5. AT had no growth, veteran syndrom or peak fast.
6. UU had anime announce in the end of year.. please god and holy.. by good and capable studio..
