Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I figured Magu-chan would drop off the charts the day after Dolphin did, though it's nice to see Roboco at least hanging on. Hopefully they all make the November monthly chart so we can get a good estimate of their total.
I still think that with slightly higher starting stocks, Magu-chan and maybe even Dolphin could still be hanging on for an additional couple days. Glad to see Yozakura and Roboco still surviving though

I wouldn't be worried about magu chan, he had a reprint announced for 1st December like Roboko.

Trying to reschedule things:

-Issue 52 cover: ???
-Issue 1 cover: Chainsawman (2nd anniversary cover)
-Issue 2 cover: Dr.Stone (season 2 anime launch) (We Never Learn ends here)
-Issue 3-4 cover: group one (with very likely One Piece thematic. Expect all Jump roster dressing as Luffy)
-Issue 5-6 cover: One Piece special chapter 1000 cover
-Issue 7 cover: New serialization round

I'm very confident on CSM getting issue 1 cover and Dr.Stone issue 2 cover.
With this predict, what would you think is getting issue 52 cover?

I can think in 4 possibilities:
-One Piece cover (despite it having the special group covers stuff)
-My Hero Academia cover (Horikoshi special secret project. MHA would also be coming from a break. But who knows)
-We Never Learn (final cover because manga is ending. But WNL hasn't had any cover in almost 2 years so...)
-Jujutsu Kaisen (more anime promotion, and Nak trying to milk Jump since JJK is doing really well)
-Ultimately NO Yozakura cover *spits to the ground*

(inb4 is Chainsawman 52, Dr.Stone 1, and Agravity Boys getting 1st anniversary cover on issue 2 and breaking our minds).

Ayy. First learn how to respond to comments.

Any product/musician/art/personality that has major mainstream success has the highest chance of influencing future generations because their work would've reached far more people than others. The larger the mainstream success = more people reached/liked

Naruto was influential in many ways because it was so successful but it was not unique. That's like someone calling MHA unique 10 years from now.

Me pointing out that Naruto is not unique =/= me not liking Naruto. lmao
You're being totally incoherent with your point and not even trying to explain with valid arguments, saying that one of the most popular and loved manga/anime series in Japan history that influenced a generation isnt unique because...you dont think it is unique isnt a valid argument, is just a personal opinion, this is like me saying Harry Potter, one of the most successful franchises in history that influenced a entire generation isnt unique because i dont think it is since it has obvious influences from older series, and the reason you're using also dont make sense, we're not talking about a regular popular series like Dr. Stone, Toriko or Black Clover, we're talking abut a phenomenon that still big even after 20 years, how can a series influence a generation, achieve this level of success and recognition around the world and not be unique?

Name 3 things about Naruto that set it apart from a regular battle manga that hadn't been done before and that truly made it "unique."
Or as the other comment said, name 3 tropes that Naruto "refined" that made it stand out and made it unique

Series don't get popular because they are unique. They get popular because of the story that resonates and most importantly because those series were made in a way that it's readers/viewers could easily follow.
How is this hard to understand?

Bleach also influenced generations that came after it. Are we going to start calling Bleach unique as well?
Kimetsu is breaking records everywhere. 10-20 years down the line we are going to see new generations of mangaka and artists name it as an influence. Are we going to start calling it unique?

Again, you're not making sense, just using subjective argument that is nothing more than your personal opinion, you're also basically saying something is only unique because it made something that was never done before, and this isn't really what being unique means, bringing my comment from few days ago:

"Unique" doesn't really mean "100% original" since nothing would be unique because any work or form of art has influences behind it, being unique is being able to set you apart from the rest, being individual, having your own signature and style that can't just be 100% emulated, i think both Naruto and Bleach were pretty unique series for their time, of course they have evident influences but both Kishimoto and Kubo were able to pick these influences and put their own spin and signature on it that set them apart from other battle shounens and even became a influence that you can see in current works (MHA and BC for example)
I think Bleach was a unique series, even Kimetsu no Yaiba was a unique series inside SJ at certain degree despite not bringing anything really new to the genre as a whole. Using "popularity /= quality" as a argument against being unique is just convenient argument, it works in the paper to try claim that the success of a series isn't result of quality, but the reality is that in order of a series, music, book, game and etc to not only become a success but a phenomenon and part of pop culture of not only a country, but around the world in 20 years of existence, you need to be unique, you need to set yourself apart from the rest, have your own style and signature that people will recognize everywhere, pick already existing tropes and put your own spin on it, which will become iconic features in your series and influence people in some years, you don't need to invent the wheel to be unique, just refine the wheel, Naruto did this at the time, you don't become a worldwide phenomenon for 20 years being just like any other series out there, how hard is to understand this? lol

If you equate popularity = unique, then your argument is fundamentally flawed. This isn't even a "convenient argument". It's a factual one.
Your definition of unique might have something to do with that. But eh.

I'm not gonna bother debating this or rather I can't be bothered. I was just answering the other dude who said I was "capping".
I don't want to pollute the thread going back and forth with diehard fans.

I'm not equating popularity with uniqueness, i'm saying that as much as we can use the "popularity =| quality" that is a very convenient argument sometimes when people (not really saying is your case) try to downplay a series, the fact is, a series doesn't become worldwide phenomenon and part of Japan's pop culture for 20 years and a influence for a new writers generation with being just like everything else, it's a concept that doesn't make sense, because in order to become something above everything else, you need to be, in some degree, different from everything around you, this for itself is already a sign of uniqueness, maybe you're taking the term too literal like "you have to make something 100% not done before", when the quality of being unique is broader than just this.

So we can assume that the day Spy x Family will receive it's anime adaptation it might become the #2 of all active WSJ mangas after One Piece?

Spy x Family is not a Jump manga, it's Jump+. Also, anime adaptations aren't always guaranteed to boost manga sales.

It will probably be the 2nd best selling manga overall, Shingeki no Kyojin will almost sure be done at the time

#2? I'd say of all mangas it's probably top 3 , but #2? Kingdom is competing with One Piece now.

#17 Haikyuu
#40 Dr Stone
#42 Chainsaw Man
#153 Yozakura
#344 Roboco
That Yozakura increase! I really wish the backlog walls wouldn't have been a thing this past week since I'm curious if Yozakura would've been in the top 50 otherwise. I'm really hoping this volume can show a noticeable increase in sales.

Talk about a increase, last two days has been the best performance compared to all 4 volumes

Yozakura Family:

Vol.1: #40 > #60 > #69 > #114 > #125 > #140 > #251 > #220 > #494 > #394 > Out
Vol.2: #47 > #63 > #145 > #57 > #109 > #214 > #260 > #368 > #349 > #367 > #411
Vol.3: #41 > #69 > #67 > #86 > #151 > #234 > #234 > Out > #434 > #354 > #333
Vol.4: #16 > #52 > #71 > #114 > #114 > #120 > #149 > #217 > #250 > #308 > #267
Vol.5: #43 > #69 > #73 > #83 > #74 > #140 > #249 > #289 > #310 > #285 > #153

Only 1 more day to complete the 2nd week, if the series is able to keep stable, we will have the 3rd week :^_^

#2? I'd say of all mangas it's probably top 3 , but #2? Kingdom is competing with One Piece now.
Taking in count how the both last volumes sold on Oricon before dropping, Spy x Family is in the lead, unless the anime don't really do much i think is safe to say SxF will be the overall 2nd biggest series when the anime comes

Spy×Family #5 (24,272 / 784,018)
Kingdom #59 (35,701 / 725,856)

Not that it really needs an anime right, like it's currently the 2nd best seller even without one? I think Spy x Family might be one of those series that doesn't get a big boost from an anime, like a reverse-Kimetsu if you will haha.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

As for Naruto being "unique" I don't want to debate either of you guys, especially when Naruto pretty much copied Hunter x Hunter plenty of times in its first couple of years, so yeah I don't think Naruto is that unique (what story can be now a days? Beside a few obvious ones like Death Note).

I do think there's an overarching plot device used throughout the whole story where a team of 3 people have a "bad apple" in them... I really, really didn't like how Kishimoto used this trope, like he was set on making the whole premise of the story about "destiny" and how x character was the teacher of x character whose in turn was teacher of x character.. Like everything had to be connected..

Also the heavy use of flashbacks mid battle, and I know that other manga like One Piece also have flashbacks but no nearly as much, Naruto has like a flashback per fight, heck there are two flashbacks just in the first chapter alone.
I don't know if Yowamushi Pedal's mangaka was a Naruto fan or whatever but Yowamushi reminds me of Naruto a lot because every race has a flashback haha.

Aestethic wise Naruto running is a thing haha, but yeah Naruto definetly didn't invent this (Not suggesting Saint Seiya did, although if you want to know about some of Saint Seiya/Kurumada tropes aestethic wise google Kurumada fall/車田落ち ).

Other thing I found disturbingly unique about Naruto was Kishimoto's obsession with eyes, and kekkei genkais that had different eye patterns, like that's pretty unique of Naruto haha.

I always thought like Kishimoto may had had like a eye fetish or something haha.

Again, not wanting to open/continue the debate, just wanted to post some thoughts on a few things I consider Naruto did that I don't think other manga did (at least not nearly as much as Naruto).

@Shinuki no Reborn from your profile I can see you are from Brazil and 28 so surely you have seen Saint Seiya, don't you think Bleach was kinda Saint Seiya with Shinigamis instead of saints? I always thought of it like that, not like it's bad, just that it was pretty obvious Kubo was a huge Saint Seiya fan (Which he later confirmed in an interview).

It’s very possible that SxF isn’t already far off from its peak.
Sometime when a manga is already doing high numbers pre anime, the boost isn’t very big (Exp. AssClass)
Basically, SxF May have already gotten its “word of mouth boost” before its anime.

Not saying it won’t get a boost. Just saying, just because it’s doing big numbers now, and better numbers than your typical pre anime manga, doesn’t guaranteed that it’s gonna be doing One Piece and Demon Slayer numbers once the anime starts.

A point about the "Naruto running" it's actually a real thing, Asian Boss channel did years ago two videos with a real "ninja" from Japan, and showed some clips from Naruto and he said the running is very realistic and actually a way that ninjas used to run in order to cause less fatigue:

Don't know exactly about being Saint Seiya with shinigamis, but the whole structure of the SS arc to rescue Rukia was very reminiscent of the Sanctuary arc, a group of "lower" knights running from house to house and fighting against Golden knights with one being left behind for the rest of the group to continue, this is basically the Soul Society arc, but arcs like the Fullbring for example is 100% Sensui arc from YuYu Hakusho.
