I think it was foreshadowed since Season 1 that Baam's potential was too great to climb up the Tower with the rest of the Regulars and now (actually since the end of the Hidden Floor arc) we're finally starting to see why. The difference between them and him is just massive and odds are that it's going to keep getting bigger and bigger because Baam's growth rate far eclipses that of any Regular. For story purposes, Baam might be close to or comparable to Zahard once he reaches the 134th Floor. From what we know of his other companions, I think they'll be very lucky if they have reached the level of the weakest Ranker on existence by that point.

It saddens me because a lot of those Regular companions are among my favourite characters but from a writing standpoint it doesn't make much sense for them to continue the climb with Baam. It's like a bunch of ants accompanying a baby Tiger, no offence to the rest of the characters ofc. It's not that they lack talent (actually a lot of them are extremely talented in more ways than one for Regular standards), it's just that Baam is an Irregular and Irregulars are built differently. It's highly likely that after this war Baam will be targeted more than ever by Zahard's minions. They're bound to get in the way at some point.

I wonder how SIU is going to handle it. Baam continuing the climb on his own with the help of other more powerful organisations like FUG or Wolhaiksong makes sense to me, but I fear a lot of very important characters are going to be cast aside for a lot of time or they'll have some of their development butchered. I hope it doesn't happen. Frankly speaking, it will be hard for SIU to give a fair treatment to every single character. Who knows, maybe he'll even find a reasonable way for the rest of the Regulars to keep climbing with Baam, even though I highly doubt it.

Also, nice to see you here @hblock I think we already discussed something a long time ago regarding Yuri and Karaka here but most of our debates are in NF. What's with that signature avatar? That has to be one the creepiest ToG Fanarts I've ever seen and I've seen a lot :lmao

Foreshadowed wouldn't quite be the word. It's been outright stated, on multiple occasions. People just think Baam's friends should be exempted from it because they're Baam's friends.

For story purposes, Baam might be close to or comparable to Zahard once he reaches the 134th Floor. From what we know of his other companions, I think they'll be very lucky if they have reached the level of the weakest Ranker on existence by that point.
Even so, this is probably not giving them due credit. Most of them are pretty special as Regulars go. They're just not transcendental in the way that Baam is supposed to be and on occasion looks to be.

I don't have any doubts that they're special. I'm saying that because it's extremely rare for Regulars to reach or surpass Ranker level before becoming Rankers. The only people we know that managed to surpass it while being still Regulars thus far are only the Irregulars (including Baam) and Adori, and even in her case, it was noted that she did it when she was an A-Rank, pretty high up in the Regular ladder. Rankers have been portrayed as a wall to be almost impossible to escalate for the Regulars, minus extremely few exceptions.

While Baam's companions are indeed very talented, some more than others, nothing thus far indicates that they come remotely close to the likes of Adori when it comes to potential.

There people who expect him to be like Sung Jin Woo (not that it's a bad thing) and there are those who are happy with his development, this is practically a loop here.
There are those who wish him to be S rank rather than jin woo rank after 400 chaps rather than within hundred that SL did. So the dichotomy is kind of strawmanning bro.

In the very last episode, Maschenny said she is leaving to go to the central floating ship with the "branch head". She does not specify if this is army or family. The nest belongs to the Lo Po Bia Family. Is the branch head Maschenny is meeting Adori, of the army, or one of the branches of the Lo Po Bia Family?

Certainly a Lo Po Bia Branch Head. Adori is the Commander in Chief of the Army and not a Branch Head after all. It was said that there were two or three Branch Heads of the Lo Po Bia Family counting Dokoko in the Nest previously too.

It’s most likely the branch head who controls the big snake.

SIU issued an update indicating that early December is more likely -- and that he will give us a new update when he has a more firm date. He and his team had started work, but then he started feeling pain in his wrist again, so -- upon the advise of his doctor -- he's giving it an extra two weeks (at least) to recover.

See: Source of this information .

Oh, look.

Early december is here.

Until we see the effectiveness of Adori it’s a bit premature to say they (Baam’s companions) will be useless as time goes on. Also, the way it has been set up is that even after the defeat of Zahard there will STILL be residents of the tower. Baam doesn’t want to run the tower whereas Wagnan does and AA wants to run his family. Lending relevance to their climb even if Baam becomes stronger than Zahard. Rak also has a special place given his mysterious lineage, no one can say what Rak’s true potential is. There is a reason Zahard killed the Native Ones descendants and it just might be “destiny” Rak has his own loophole to wreak havoc in unexpected ways.

They also haven’t been propagandized by the Zahard Empire/Army like Adori... Given that they’ve now been essentially blacklisted and enemies of the empire their feats of escape and defeating the army SHOULD almost literally broadcast the news of their talents throughout the tower.

Im essentially saying hold off on downplaying that comparison, what are they C rank? As you stated Adori was A rank when accounting for one of the feats that gave her such prestige and the widespread recognition of her talent, Baam and Co have just started their prestige campaign.

- AA just started actually training, has new powers (Fire and Ice) yet still being functional with almost ZERO experience with these powers. Also, he has just started utilizing tactical news dissemination to spread information of their accomplishments against Zahard.

- Rak has been feeling the ancient power all too consistently now for it (the power) not to expand exponentially.

- Baam needs no bullet point... lol

AA is the real MVP in all this. His true strength is his brain. His tactical prowess is already superior to most High Rankers who's lived through countless battles and developed experience.

His tactical ability already seems to have one up Lymboric in strategy. All Lymboric managed to do was blow up the cage (which wasn't even going to be their escape route)

I see people being mad at the fact that AA is doing so well but its to be expected. He's always been known as a genus intellectual. He loves being the light house because he loves commanding others like pawns. Unlike Isu he's cold so he's okay with doing questionable things. Like reviving a mass murder as long as it's another powerful piece to help Baam's goal. Having Koon and Isu together can out plan almost anyone. Also High Rankers main rely on their power so there's really no need to plan so deepLook at Evankhell and Kallavan, they are nukes who only 100 people out of billions can actually stop them. Evankhell was so sure of her power she went in solo without a lighthouse or scout. She was extremely lucky but look how confident she was is that weakness that makes koon out on top.

I honestly don't know why you guys see so much trouble in relation to Baam climb, the tests are no longer the focus and a problem a long time ago. The tower is very vast, if at some point SIU wants to focus on climbing, it has several regular teams for that.

It has been said that the war that starts in the nest will be extremely long and the regular friends of Baam are not climbing the tower in a normal way (not even the current rankers manipulate their Shinsoo quality). That is, there is a lot of space to make them strong. And another thing, the Zahard empire is huge, there are several enemies, there will be no shortage of struggles. Not to mention that if Baam is at the same level as Zahard as soon as he becomes Ranker, the king would better leave the throne soon because it is sad. As much as we know that Baam's potential is greater, Zahard has already been trained in the tower and has been around for thousands of years.

About FUG, I think at the beginning of Season 3 it was commented that Baam's new goal is to restructure it, so ...

If we leave the tower in Wangnan's hands, it doesn't last 3 days.

I think we are getting away from the topic a bit with all the talk from Baam friends and I think it can be discussed on a proper topic, but I will leave my opinion here:

Since the beginning, this barrier between rankers and regulars has been presented to us, but even almost 500 chapters later, we don't know exactly what makes them so different. What the hell changes in the test from the 133rd to the 134th floor that creates such a barrier? Sure, we know it's a contract with the guardian, but is that just it? What are the details behind this? Can it be applied only on the 134th floor? There are a number of questions on this topic that leave that topic open.

Will Baam's friends be as strong as he is? No, never. But do you mean they will be useless when they become rankers? Never, there are several possibilities for them to get stronger and the climb so far is not normal.

They have already learned to use their own Shinsoo qualities which allows them to handle shinsoo more easily and it has been said that it is an old way, something that current rankers like Kallavan do not use. Furthermore, they are having contact with rankers and high-rankers, why do the children of the 10 families enter the tower already strong? Because they receive training from the family rankers. Androssi training with Yuri, AA with Evan and Hatsu (in the future?) With White, is something extraordinary that the vast majority of rankers would never be able to do.

And finally, there is always the external factor, even today, there are still unexplored places in the tower, hidden powers like EoB and powerful items. In short, ToG was created in a way that the SIU can use different devices, it is only up to him to use it in a coherent way and that it does not look like a plot armor or exaggerated protagonism.

Eat em! That’ll be cleaner than whatever is actually going to transpire..

We tend to forget Mirchea Luslec and the others that climbed with 13 IRREGULARS... Not just one..

It’s a bit inane to try and say they’ll be nothing. As we have evidence of regulars who climbed with the OG 13 being exemplary and very high ranked.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Meaning that Baam isn't, and that's the problem. The Irregular is an inferior.
No, it’s not a problem at all... Because AA’s power is considered Baam’s, he is his 2nd in command essentially. Any prestige afforded to AA isn’t separate from Baam. You’re still looking at this in a very limited fashion. Baam will, if he has not already, assumed the responsibility of being the head/face of FUG...

The Slayers, his team, the cage, are all now part of Baam’s perceived power. They are FOLLOWING him...

This is no longer a test of 1v1, this is to crush an uprising of an opponent army (FUG) that is becoming a legitimate threat to the empire. Baam is that power, he is that army, he is that threat.

If Baam doesn't find his own brains wherever he puts them these days, one day he is going to be isolated and outsmarted by one of the irregulars, who happen to have both the power, and the brains. I mean even as a team, do we really believe someway somehow Aguero will outplay Eduan??
When the irregulars make direct moves, Baam's friends will no longer be an asset as some seemingly are now, just saying.

No, he won’t be outsmarted because there will be a point where he stands on the same level as them.

Zahard can’t just kill another irregular because he wants to. As evidenced by a not even immortal V killing himself. Or Zahard falling out with basically all of the OG 13 and has not killed one!

So your scenario is a moot point, because they are keeping his ass alive right now! Hence AA being INTEGRAL for Baam to get to a point he surpasses the FH...

Brains? Like Gustang has but can’t beat Mazino? I think you’re underestimating not only Baam’s destiny but the reason he has the Thorn.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

And he literally has numerous others stronger than he, AA and Rak looking out for him also... Like FUG, Cha, LUSLEC, etc.

Baam had a moment AA in one moment shifted the whole battlefield. Resulted in the death of a Clan leader and revived White in one move, which saved Baam and taught Baam to ignite the power of souls. So AA is the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER in this battle.
Baam scored the the final point but Lebron AA heald the team
Who are you even trying to argue against? I didn't disagree with you. I was just expressing my exasperation with Baam being so useless that he's being outdone by a Regular. It's a terrible, terrible look for the supposed chosen one.

My apologies I read wrong. You're right but Baam is a baby right now. Look at what Baam had to go through compared to everyone else. Zahard had 14 companions to learn and grow off and Uerik was pretty much left alone while climbing so he had his chance to grow in safety. If Baam wasn't rushed to grow he'd be a monster like every other irregular, even stronger.

Look at how powerful Data Zahard was, you think he'd be a match against Kallavan at this point? He and Baam were evenly matched. You think after 2 years Zahard could've done any different? AA is MVP but don't knock Baam yet. The second game is coming up

Baam looks terrible? The same Baam that was beating a ranker at the start of the nest? The same Baam that teleported the needle, an ability only a handful of high rankers have? It’s one thing to say AA has out done him, something that’s not going to keep up. But to say Baam has been useless to any degree is not insane, he’s the reason they got past the first wall. I’d argue that’s more significant than taking down a branch leader that had already been weakened.
