Not sure if many people are aware of it but 3 years ago Fujimoto published a one-shot called Nayuta of the Prophecy, from where he took the name/design of [REDACTED] and contain elements that will probably be seen in CSM part 2. Really recommend y'all read it

Thanks for pointing this out. It's even the same character and everything... this has me very hopeful for Part 2 assuming Fujimoto already had this story in his mind for so long.

Moriking definitely feels like it's about to end in just a couple more chapters, this week's chapter has a very end-game kind of tone to it.

That said, it did have a big final battle already but then suddenly introduced a quick new arc so who knows, maybe it'll pull a second random final final arc out after this one is done and keeping hanging around.

Also congrats to Agravity Boys on surviving past its 1 year anniversary, I definitely didn't expect it to last this long but I'm glad it did, it's not my favourite series but it's a fun enough weekly read.

Don't know how much life it has left though now that we have a bunch of new series outperforming it. I wonder if it'll get a colour for the anniversary in the next few issues, or if the one it got in October will end up being the only centre colour for its whole run.

1. Chainsaw Man: Great ending. Some things of the last minute were explained, Denji was relatable as always, great setup for the second act, and I am also a believer of the hug theory. What can I ask more?
2. Magu-chan: God of Destruction: Speaking of people who need some hugs, here's Ruru. It was a great, warm chapter on its own, then it delivered the first depressing end of chapter for this manga. I was really impressed.
3. The Promised Neverland: This time the side-story focused on the endgame, and I daresay it made it better. If it only kept this level even in the main run...
4. Mission: Yozakura Family: It has dropped the forgettable characters reel to focus on the relevant training part, and it paid off. I love me some badass characters doing badass things.
5. Hard-boiled Cop and Dolphin: The tone shifted back to serious and the overall reception is usually better. Will this new ensemble be able to save the series? They got my attention, at least...
6. Sakamoto Days: The new heroine is a great character introduction and we also had the confirmation that the author isn't afraid of killing people horribly if necessary for the story or characterization.
7. Me & Roboco: One of the best chapters ever, on par with the one about being a mangaka. The cherry on top was the end, where Bondo had his usual moral lesson rejected for once.
8. Undead Unluck: Recently this has great chapters with a little something that baffles me. This week that little something is: isn't this admission of character growth too sudden? You usually see this kind of things in the final chapters.
9. My Hero Academia: The character who took focus this week is someone that I really like when it debuted. Then it was sent back to the second line and I lost my affection for him, so now his day in the limelight didn't deliver as much as it could have done.
10. Black Clover: Good setup chapter while a side character gets focus: it's as Black Clover-y as a chapter of Balck Clover can get.
11. Ayakashi Triangle: Opening the second half of this ranking is a series that gets suddenly better when little to no fanservice is involved. That other ninja I didn't care about at first is now starting to grow on me, soon I will also remember his name.
12. Dr. Stone: Nice chapter, better than the recent trend. The strong point of this series is that each of its load of characters has a very unique personality, and this chapter played with that while keeping just the right amount of science.
13. Build King: I liked the upside-down castle and the upside-down king, for the first time there was something in this series that I found original (as in, "not something that Toriko would surely do").
14. Mashle: I liked the chapter, is so low just because the overall week has been very good. Finally they are doing something other than fighting, and is nice for Mash to have finally found some friends!
15. Phantom Seer: Bland chapter saved by two things: the girl is really nuts and the end was legitimately frightening.
16. One Piece: My ideal 1000th chapter is one that focuses in a single fight from beginning to end and concludes it. I'll take everything, even the Franky fight or Chooper vs. Ice Covid. Just stop bouncing around scenes all the time!
17. Moriking: I think I found a new bad thing from this series: our Moriking has to remember us his motivations every damn chapter. Let's hope it's really curtain call this time.
18. Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege has to leave the comedy skits to the authors of the Juju Strolls from the anime. Wait, it's a different person that does those, isn't he?
19. High School Family: Nothing really interesting or funny for me. I wonder when the next chapter of "Volleyball dad - the Spokon" will come out?
20. Our blood oath: It's never a good idea to sacrifice a character that you haven't built enough for us to care. Then again, it's not necessarily his fault since it may have not many chapters left to begin with.

Retro binge update. Kimetsu no Yaiba: I grew curious about the talk of the town. Only 20 chapters so far, and a thing that catched my eye is that it seems a solitary journey for our hero. There's effort, there's victory but there isn't much friendship, at least for now.

Build King had interesting developments this chapter. I still want to see Shimabu do his take on the Hunters exam arc. It'll be a great way to expand the cast and introduce a battle system but renovations for Cork's place takes priority. I've got a good feeling about Cork being a nice addition to the cast.

Sakamoto was alright. I'm more happy that it's starting a new arc instead of these episodic chapters.

Dr Stone: I still don't like the geo-girl, but at least she's making herself useful. And I love how Senku casually went and build a scale while the others were gossiping. (I'm surprised Senku hasn't grown in the last few years though...)

OP: Can we really not stay in the same place for three pages..?

BC: I wish we saw more of the raid inside. The lady was fun too, but watching them steamroll their way through the castle would've been amazing.

Mashle: Pretty nice filler chapter (though I had to look up who this 'captain' guy was again).

MHA: We're still going?

CSM: That was a whole lot more wholesome than anything I expected out of this series.

Sakamoto: That one part was kinda dark, compared to the general tone of the series. But I think this one is here to stay. I wonder if the girl will become part of the main cast, too.

Roboco: Can people who don't know Dragon Ball even follow this series? But the social commentary is a lot better than last time.

Build King: The setting is still interesting. The main character is still... ugh.

WNL: Next chapter: all five routes were a dream and he's still single!
:derp

Yozakura: Okay? That was weird, but it does have plot-relevance, so I'm giving it a pass.

Magu-chan: That was actually pretty cute. Magu-chan is better at understanding humans than the humans at this point.

TPN: That was some nice closure for the character. I'm glad I read it. Now I'm just wondering if we will ever see anything about the main cast past the end of the series.

UU: Kinda lost on why there's two of them (also, that's a ridiculous amount of blood to come out of a single person no matter how fast they regenerate), but I'm guessing we'll get the training arc wrapped up in the next chapter.

AT: Yeah, don't even pretend Matsuri's gender is the problem here. It's, er, refreshing that the girl wants it more than the boy(s) in this one.

HSF: How come fish in manga are always super realistic (they included the poo, for f***'s sake), but the cats look like little demons?

C&D:
Back to the main story. Their entrance was impressive, but I wonder how many of the new guys will actually get to play a role.

Moriking: Those are some impressive horns. And some decent self-awareness, for a bug. I take it we're supposed to root for Moriking, but, er... you like the world just as it is? Do you realise that hundred(s) species a day are going extinct because of polution and loss of habitat? Might wanna consider doing something about that if you care about all life so much.

PS: That escalated quickly. I hope they can still save her, she's not my favourite but I still kinda like her.

AB: "Transcends gender"? Really?

OBO: It's a nice moment... but it loses a lot of impact because we've seen several nearly identical sob stories before, so the whole thing just feels kinda repetitive.

Nayuta is also name of a character in Abara. I wonder how many other Abara references in CSM I miss.

Top 5 for this week:

MHA: I rly like Compress, so this chapter was probably the best in a while for me
PS: Second just because of the last few pages. One of my biggest surprises on a page turn in a good few weeks.
Yoza: The art for this series has improved so much since chapter 1 it's kinda crazy
UU: Very good fight chapter, definitely one I need to see animated asap.
CSM: Pretty good end to a manga I've enjoyed for the last few years. Also a cool callback to Fuji's oneshot.

That would be him.

CSM really was able to end on a high note (albeit its first part but still), looking forward to the anime and part 2. Mashle having a wholesome breather chapter after all the plot heavy chapters is so welcome in my book.

Cop and Dolphin getting back with some plot is nice, specially with the new characters introduced. Ayakashi gave me a good laugh this time. Magu-chan dropping some bombs at the end.

Phantom Seer really took a turn for the horror which is nice. Sakamoto was fun as well, looking forward to this first mini arc.

This was one of the strongest issues in a while. The horror elements in Honomieru Shounen blew me away, those last pages made me very uneasy. Mashle had a fun and heartwarming character after a big arc, the character interactions and especially the last couple of pages were top tier. Already looking forward to its next arc. The introdcution of Cork in Build King did wonders for me, her interactions with the two MCs were compelling and the plot keeps moving. The cast addition in Shakunetsu no Niraikanai was good too, hope these characters are well used throughout the story. The Promised Neverland's side story was fantastic and heartbreaking, it reminded me why I fell in love with the series to begin with.

This was probably my favorite Ayakashi Triangle chapter so far, fanservice was minimal and Ninokuru and Kazamaki's relationship became something cruious to watch. Magu-chan had a chapter that was surprisingly short of gags but managed to be both warm and saddening, curious about next week's chapter. Chainsaw Man's last chapter was amazing in every sense, it did all it had to do, with both heartbreaking and hopeful moments. I'd be very satisfied if it ended right here, but I trust Fujimoto will deliver with part 2. My Hero Academia seems to be wrapping this arc, I'm glad Horikoshi has given the spotlight to different characters, it was something the series was missing.

It can be said that on balance the 2010s were perhaps more prolific than the 2000s in terms of successes.
