A bit of mixed emotions about this because Slam Dunk screams "remake" adapting everything, but at the same time maybe this will be a movie sequel to the manga, because a movie adapting the final match of the series doesn't seems much appropriate since it's been way too long to just suddenly make a sequel of the anime, but well, going to wait for the infos
Great hold for both Yozakura and Agravity Boys, Yoza dropped only 3 positions, i kinda wish this would be a 3 day week so we would probably get Yozakura in the Oricon, but is really trying to stay in, maybe if the 4th day still in the top 50 we have a real chance...
Ranking wise this volume of AB is performing really good compared to the others specially considering is a already canceled series.
Magu-chan had a big drop, 70 positions but overall i think it still performing better than vol.1 that was at #194 in the 4th day, only the weekly one will tell.
Bokura i think will perform similar to Time Paradox Ghostwriter.

Talking about backlog, maybe part of it is stock issues but JJK backlog in this last 3 days has been really bad considering a new volume was released and all the popularity, even Dr. Stone have pratically all volumes charting in the last days but day 6 for example, JJK has only 1, that's weird.
People not buying more Magu-chan is the most depressing thing. This is why I can never have nice things....
Yozakura, on the other hand, is seeing some nice improvement at the very least. Maybe it'll finally get that cover sometime this year, or the editors will photoshop Taiyou into that calendar shot lol.
I must be in the minority that wouldn’t have minded another Kuroko movie being announced a few months back, if only because it could mean Team USA might be invited to watch it, with Curry in tow .
“This green-haired guy was hitting half-courts before you did.”

......Unless it’s an adaptation of the final match. If that’s the case, there’s not really much of a point for a remake when we already see the final match.
If I had to guess I’d imagine the movie will be some sort of stand alone story. Something where, obviously you’d need to be at least somewhat familiar with Slam Dunk; but at the same doesn’t require you to be deep in the manga to be able to follow the story.
That or it adapts the very beginning of the manga
Sure Slam Dunk is one of the biggest manga of all time, and sure the manga recently got rerelease. But I can’t imagine they’d just use the movie to finish adapting a 20+ year old anime series. It would alienate a lot of viewers if every new comer was required to read the entire manga or watch the entire anime before seeing the movie.
Demon Slayer did it, but that was only a year after the anime finished airing
I’m not sure. Slam Dunk is one of the most beloved manga in Japan, and it’s a top 5 all-time great over there. I think almost everybody there has a copy and can follow the story even if it only adapts the final match. Heck, Rui Hachimura of the Wizards knows it.

I’m not necessarily ruling the possibility that it could be the final match being adapted
I’m just thinking from the stand point of most “revivals”. Usually the goal is to revitalize and introduce the property to a new audience, as well making the older audience happy.
Slam Dunk is huge, but I would imagine the vast majority of the fanbase people who experienced it in the 90s. Unlike something like Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk never got constant anime stuff being released.
Even in Japan, most ppl’s first exposure to popular franchises is the anime.
Despite the rerelease of the manga, I would think there are probably tons of Young ppl currently reading Jump(ages 11ish-19ish)who are fans of series like Kuroko, and Haikyuu, but never read or watched Slam Dunk
"Sold"? Did you mean "circulation"? Novels, databooks, spin-offs usually do not have a large circulation, only KNY managed to sell them in the millions.
