That came out of nowhere! So many ways this movie could go... I would have preferred a complete anime remake, but let's see... Also hopefully this would mean other Inoue works can get animated, it's been reported that Inoue is very protective of his IPs... So maybe he's opening up? Who knows...

Kochikame, Kinnikuman, Rokudenashi BLUES, Bastard are all properties that have sold extremely well and could get a new anime/movie.

For Kochikame and Kinnikuman I'd be shocked if they don't get an anime of sorts or movie at least for their 50th anniversary. Kochikame is one of those series like Dr. Slump where I think they could literally animate it today and the gags would work. For Kinnikuman they could maybe animate it with the more detailed designs of today's Yudetamago.

Rokudenashi BLUES and Bastard I think only got OVAs, and I know they are violent and BLUES is more about bosuzoku which I guess Japanese tv doesn't want because I have not see a lot of anime about it.

Sakigake Otokojuku! too... But I think it's time has passed for a new anime/movie, even when you compare it to Kochikame and Kinnikuman whose style looks more caricaturized and IMO has aged better than the one in Sakigake (you see Sakigake and you immediately think old manga from the 80s, at least with Kochikame or Kinnikuman the caricaturized aspect helps them a bit with that).

Anyway I'm glad that, as some of you have pointed, out most of the anime that made my childhood have had remakes or movies. I would love a remake of Dragon Ball (original), if Toei could spew the garbage that was Saint Seiya Omega for like 100 episodes (And I'm a SS fan) I don't see why they can't remake early Dragon Ball, it certainly would get more views and maybe even increase the merchandise of early DB products, heck even maybe today's kids will get into it.

I want to see a Takeshi anime as unlikely as it is. It has a lot of potential as a children show and wouldn't mind at all if Toei did it.

Also we're probably going to have a wall of Slam Dunk backlogs lol. I seriously hope Viz brings those new editions here.

Not to forget YYH getting a live action adaptation.
this reminds me
what are the odds we get a tie in manga like DQ prequel or Alice in Wonderland retry for the new product?

I highly doubt Togashi or Inoue would even bother
but someone like Mizuno Hachi (Akuten Wars) or Sano Yuto (Gokuraku 3rd avenu) could probably mimic Togashi's and Inoue's artstyles well enough

I want the adaption of the last chapters of Reborn
lad, Artland went bankrupt ages ago

Really excited with all this new adaptation content!
We're probably going to see more of this now that anime has gotten so absurdly popular. I've been looking at google trends and shocked that Bleach level popularity is becoming the norm for ROW popularity. I'm hoping for more Kai type editions in anime, there are so many that need it: Naruto, One Piece, HxH, Bleach, Reborn! etc.

Toei-sama I kneel, Gash Bell next pls
I'm surprised none of Kodansha's international branches has released the Gash Kanzenbans.

If Bastard!! is never gonna finish in manga form, then they could at least have Hagi write the story and have an animation studio do all the work for a new anime series.

Kai was just a "remaster" cutting the "fillers", Toei didn't really animated anything new, probably none of these series will ever get a remake or something like a Kai thing, at least in many years, Naruto would need a full remake but there's no need for this for now, neither Pierrot would able to produce for many years since they have their hands full, One Piece barely has any filler which means it would need another full remake but is the same case with Naruto, no reason or time to do, HxH already had a full great remake, it will only need a new season, Bleach don't need this and will get the final season, Reborn also only needs a final season.

Edit: But i would be more than glad to be wrong kkkk

It's a lot of "minor" editing that a lot of anime could use. I'm not sure about what would need to happen exactly, but companies look for demand, and anime has gotten a lot more popular. Filler cutting alone would do plenty favors.
An official One Pace would be nice. HxH's early arcs were butchered, Kite's part being placed in the first ep would be nice, and changes to the atmosphere would complement the show well.

Edit: Kai is some kind of revision, so it's a bit more than just filler. I think it would be great to see competent revisions made for several Jump anime, not exactly "Kai" treatment.

We got this week's sales by volume and there are some interesting numbers. With the sales from the last week of December, Kimetsu no Yaiba 1 became the first work ever to sell more than 5 million copies in Oricon's history with 5,029,069 copies sold in total. Meanwhile, with last week's sales volumes 7 and 8 have also crossed the 5 million mark with 5,009,468 and 5,029,547 copies sold in total, respectively. As Kimetsu no Yaiba's backlog keeps selling, more volumes should achieve the same feat. As for Kimetsu no Yaiba 23 and Gaiden they have closed out their 5th week with 4,297,770 and 1,704,584 in total, respectively.

We also got LTDs for all of Chainsaw Man's backlogs.

Chainsaw Man 1 - 590,936
Chainsaw Man 2 - 545,787
Chainsaw Man 3 - 510,470
Chainsaw Man 4 - 485,477
Chainsaw Man 5 - 466,148
Chainsaw Man 6 - 446,772
Chainsaw Man 7 - 427,048
Chainsaw Man 8 - 396,248
Chainsaw Man 9 - 377,206

Magu-chan tragically low, and that Yozakura drop is larger than I was hoping. Now it looks like its chances of finally making the weekly top 50 have been dashed once again.

Who are all these people buying Our Blood Oath? Whoever they are, they must be reading it it secret, not posting favorable things about it online, or casting votes for it in the TOC. I'm shocked this hasn't disappeared from the charts yet.

The good news about a Slam Dunk movie is that the pacing won’t be an utter joke. The TV anime was a painful experience...

Last for now, going to wait for the full week next:

Yozakura Family

Vol.1: #40 > #60 > #69 > #114
Vol.2: #47 > #63 > #145 > #57
Vol.3: #41 > #69 > #67 > #86
Vol.4: #16 > #52 > #71 > #114
Vol.5: #43 > #69 > #73 > #83
Vol.6: #22 > #37 > #40 > #75

Agravity Boys

Vol.1: #45 > #82 > #224 > #68
Vol.2: #60 > #92 > #246 > #255
Vol.3: #67 > #104 > #187 > #95
Vol.4: #53 > #94 > #125 > #216

Magu-chan

Vol.1: #40 > #89 > #96 > #194
Vol.2: #50 > #70 > #140 > #202

Bokura no Ketsumei

Vol.1: #107 > #161 > #218 > #292

Big drop for basically everybody in this 4th day, Yozakura being the smallest but still 35 positions drop, maybe next day will recover a bit because this one was big compared to how well was holding in the first 3. Agravity Boys was doing really well until dropping almost 100 positions, Magu-chan dropping 62 but still at the level of vol.1, despite the drop Bokura still doing better than expected tbh.

lol this numbers are around what vol.1 of Jujutsu Kaisen sold when it started to get a boost from the anime:

40. Jujutsu Kaisen #1 (25,210 / 613,032)

Which means CSM #1 without a anime is selling around what JJK #1 sold only after the anime, that's impressive.

Adding something cool and interesting about this ranking:

#61 Mashle 1
#74 Mashle 3
#76 Mashle 2

Mashle's backlog is much stronger than any of the other newbies in current WSJ. In fact, this week the backlog should sell more than the current average of WSJ newbie. It can become really big in the future.
