Vol.1 estimations were at 8,400 with 5 days, 10,680 with 12 days, so seems like is going Agravity Boys route, staying around the same level.Guesstimations for Maguchan are 9.5k, hows that compared to week 1 of volume 1?
Also MASHLE being #18 with #30 being 32k. 40k week 1 for mashle or even more?
Agravity trended quite well in the twitter polls, which are not really an indication of the real thing but show that there was a fanbase. It´s comparable to Magu in that regard.Magu has one potential saving grace here maybe and that’s that it apparently surveys quite well. Of course this is according to sources like 5ch Jump generals so grain of salt but given recent ToC positions I can see it. I don’t know how well AB did in surveys for comparison. But if it continues to survey good and sell stable I think it should get the AB-length run. Otherwise, yeah unless there’s a miracle turnaround with v3 (I think they’ll give it that long at least considering it didn’t decrease this time) and almost everything they add in the next couple of rounds flops, it’s probably gone by autumn. Which is pretty crushing to me because I think it’s beautiful and deserves at least 80 chapters. It might be one of those series that people like but prefer to read in the magazine, but low sales are low sales. Let’s see how Roboco stacks up by comparison next month—I’m thinking growth, since that twitter account has been marketing it, but it might also be one of those “read in the magazine” series so it may be the same as well. Dolphin I’m pretty sure is dying a slow death with how little promotion they’re giving it and HSF is in the same boat as Magu/Roboco but way less popular. There’s nothing left to say about OBO besides RIP.
The twitter polls don’t really mean anything and a lot of the votes are from westerners anyway from what I’ve heard. I am talking about the real surveys. Which of course aren’t public so we’ll never know for sure. I’m just citing the Japanese fanbase’s projections. Otherwise I’m pretty much in agreement with what you’re saying. I don’t expect a round of 4 serializations in the first half of the year, but we’ll see how long it can get cushioned (and don’t forget something from the first round of the year could get U19’d).Agravity trended quite well in the twitter polls, which are not really an indication of the real thing but show that there was a fanbase. The biggest difference between the two is that Magu has gotten a lot of promotion within the magazine. It has 3 post chapter 2 color pages already (and it was in the Top 3 in one issue), while Agravity got its first (and only) 40 chapters in. Despite that going for it, it hasn´t shown any growth, which is disappointing.
That´s not to say that it has no chance of getting to its anniversary. If HSF flops (which is not unlikely) and C&P doesn´t grow (which is likely) and the Spring round only requires 3 cancellations (the above two and OBO) then Magu will probably survive until the summer. Probably not much farther, though.
Oh yes, absolutely, but they are probably as useful as the 5ch survey results you are mentioning. Or is there a reason why you think those are more reliable? The twitter polls don’t really mean anything and a lot of the votes are from westerners anyway from what I’ve heard. JJK 1st just as expected despite stock issues, full month sales are gonna be huge. Chainsaw's gonna see amazing growth this volume as well, aiming for 350k, maybe even 400k FM imho. Mashle had a great fw (thanks Hanae), both for its new volume and backlog, and finally we should get an oricon number for yoza.Shoseki Weekly Ranking - 1/4~1/10

Not really surprised since it reportedly sold out in some stores within 6 hours of its release.
Oh, JJK got 1st place in the total week
Uhh the guy that started this topic mentioned most of these alreadyAbout Hoshin Engi.. No, it's a very weird adaptation, the first episode covers stuff from the entire first volume. Then from episodes like 2-12 they cover volumes 2-11ish (basically where the first anime finished, though the first anime had an original ending and only covered volumes 1-8).
Then they skip like one or two volumes worth of content and arrive to one of the most beloved arcs in the story (basically their plan was to get here fast) episodes 12-24 iirc were good paced, they covered volumes 13-16 or something like that.
But the manga is 23 volumes long and they only covered up to volume 16ish. it's weird because they showed us some of the stuff from the later volumes (when an episode started they you scenes from future chapters, and when I say future chapters I mean future chapters, like no kidding the first episode's first scene is the final battle the anime covers! And then it cuts to the actual first chapter...)
And they did for every episode, I guess they just wanted to show fan favorite scenes that wouldn't get animated (a lot of the scenes they showed in the first couple of seconds of the episodes were scenes of chapters so far ahead that they didn't even get to that part of the story in the anime).
The animation quality was actually quite nice, but the damage had already been done... Imo they should have just started from where the original anime had finished if they were going to do this weird stuff. As one of my favorite manga it hurts.
As for other completed Jump anime:
Also Saint Seiya's anime was cancelled and then, a decade later finished animating its WSJ run via OVAs.
Sexy commando and Ninku should have been completely animated, no? Both were pretty short and had animes.
Shaman king and Dragon Quest Dai no Daiboken (and BLEACH) should be fully adapted now (if not.. what was the point lol)
Captain tsubasa's original wsj run was adapted (it's pretty much the thing hat has been remade to death... 3 times of remaking the same content now instead of actually animating new arcs..)
Hokuto no Ken? Idk? Sounds like something that should have been fully adapted..
Death Note and Bakuman (though iirc they skipped an arc or two... nothing major)
Yu-Gi-Oh! was completed, too.
Prince of Tennis I would actually consider it a complete adaptation too, though it was kind of weird. Some of the matches in the later part of the story were different from the ones in the manga, this was due to the anime catching up to the manga. There was one match in the manga that was not shown, like the team wasn't even shown. I'm pretty sure this was at the request of the anime studio because there was a filler match in the anime for that team (This match doesn't happen at all in the manga).
Then iirc some of the later matches were completely changed because they could not wait for the manga, they even continued the anime for a long time, the merchandise must have been selling great I guess.
Then years later they started adaptating the last parts of the WSJ run in OVAs (IIRC there were like 30), actually Prince of Tennis is probably one of the franchises that has the most OVAs ever, it probably has like 50 by now.

Totally agree with you about Eyeshield 21, and what better time could we have than bringing it back to Mangaplus than 2021 and a full reboot at the end of 2022 for celebrating 20 years to it's publication after hopefully Production IG will complete Haikyuu!!'s anime.Katekyo hitman reborn tooand maybe Eyeshield 21
