Damn I wanna now know how BIG actually the digital market is. It could be a pretty considerate amount and especially for the newer series with high interest online

Eh. We've had people say this for like 6 years now. Digital for WSJ series has always been poor and nothing noteworthy.
Don't let anomalies like Kimetsu and probably JJK let you believe otherwise.

I mean, a lot could have changed in the past 6 years

Or you know, nothing could've changed in the past 6 years aside from some anomalies that are exploding both in physical markets and digital.

Just saying, all he’s saying is he wants to see what the digital market looks like. Maybe things changed. Maybe things didn’t. Which was the entire point of him being curious about it how big it is

roughly 5 to 10% estimate give or take

Chainsaw Man at 8 volumes has 2.7 million copies in circulation, then a month later they say it has reach 3 million due to the explosive popularity of digital and physical sale

Too lazy to do math atm but if you take the sales number at this time July/August 2020, CSM would be like 250k~300k(?), multiple by 8 that's 2.4 million copies SOLD, maybe add around ~300-400k copies more PRINTED (PRINTED copies will always be more than SOLD copies), that leave about 300~400k digital sold. Again, all estimation but I could see my math being correct

^ I also did this for Spy x Family when the series was still being allowed to be discuss here, and I vaguely remember the 10~20% digital estimate

Do we have a brief preview/description of next week's baseball series yet? I'm curious if it'll have some sort of twist or just be a regular sports series.

How do those numbers compare to previous volumes?

I see HSF hasn't actually even reached 4k first week like people thought it would. Other series seem to be performing about the same as their first volumes from what I remember, maybe slight growth but not a big jump.

That means very little chance at this point for HSF or Dolphin to survive next round (with the exception of extreme gag manga favouritism for HSF I guess).

Honestly, excluding Phantom Seer that basically doubled the sales of first volume with just 1 more day, the rest is all kinda underwhelming:

Phantom Seer #1 (8.675) - 3 Days
Phantom Seer #2 (16.558) - 4 Days

Hard-Boiled Cop & Dolphin #1 (7.307) - 5 Days
Hard-Boiled Cop & Dolphin #2 (6.550) - 4 Days

Me & Roboco #1 (8.637) - 5 Days
Me & Roboco #2 (10.645) - 4 Days

Kokosei Kazoku #1 (3.636) - 4 Days

C&D is basically pulling the Magu-chan like i mentioned earlier, doing around the same with 1 day less, slightly selling less, Roboco is doing "better" but is pratically selling the same and Kokosei sold even less than i thought, didn't crack the 4k club of the other gag series

#401 Yozakura Family 6 charted for the week as well, so that's about another estimated 3,300 copies.

Basically over 30k at this point, it leave Shoseki with 25.895, adding the "3.293" copies of this week its at 29.188, counting the other two weeks missing, its for sure between 30k ~ 32k for now

eh Roboco is doing more considering its sold 2k more with 1 day less. Hardboiled not as horrible as I originally thought, but not good either. HSF is dead in the water and Phantom seer doing very well no duh

One thing I'm curious about with next week's baseball series is the name. People are localising it to Kowloon's Ball Parade, which is a cool name, but the Kuuronzu part could just be a character's name or something.

Well, Viz has it named as "Nine Dragons' Ball Parade" on their schedule. "Nine Dragons" is the literal translation of Kowloon (九龍/九龙), even though Kowloon is written in Katakana in the series's title. I have no idea why they decided to go with that title.

I just think Kowloon might be too obscure of a reference. Nine dragons actually sounds more interesting as a title.
