We don't even know what the plot and execution of the serialized version of Blue Box is. It seems to early to say it will be a success.

After what happened between one shot Build King and serialized Build King, I think its better to be way more cautious about one shots changed to serialized versions. What you see may not be what you get.

It does have greater weight. But in many cases, the sales are not big enough to offbalance the TOC positions. PS had pretty good sales. But we learned that those sales were not large enough to keep it in the magazine. I guess Jump did not want the same two series hogging the bottom two spots for another five/ten weeks.

Either way I wish we could talk about anything else.
Sure, you guys are insisting on Toc's positions, but tell me, what would happen if Jujutsu, one piece and Boku no hero ended this year, do you think any of the current series would be enough to sustain these losses?

Even a mashle with excellent sales would not make up for the loss of one piece, at least not yet.

even PS not selling what the editors wanted it doesn’t mean they couldn’t have insured the series until June at least.

This is true. Wasn't Golem Hearts a fairly popular one-shot and became one of the most generic series that got axed just barely out of the U19 club? For all we know it will be stretched to a volleyball and basketball player in love but never confessing then more sports girls come and it's just a harem with a sports background.

looked it up and seems to be 15. So even worse than I thought.
I don't think Blue Box will flop but I think it's worth remembering just because the one-shot was popular doesn't mean the series will be.

Jump has existed before Jujutsu Kaisen and Hero Academia and I'm sure it can survive without them. It is not like theyve been in it for ever.

Anyway, the possibility exists that animes for Mission: Yozakura Family, Mashle, and Undead Unlock could be hits and cause each of those mangas to explode. Mission: Yozakura Family could be the next Katekyo Hitman Reborn and become a Shonen Jump mainstay getting 200+ episodes. It has everything needed to succeed.

Mashle can become the Harry Potter of manga and become an unmitigated success. Undead Unlock could be a Tokyo Ghoult styile hit.

So you're telling me that Jump doesn't need new hits because the current sleeves are more than enough?

Even if Mashle becomes the new Harry potter, or Yozakura becomes the new Reborn and Undead is the Tokyo Ghoul, there will always be a need for new hits all the time. You can't be satisfied with just what you have, you always need to improve.

That's what I said before, it's okay to have manga with poor sales, as long as there is a majority with strong sales.

People that think Jump is in any kind of trouble need to expand their manga reading horizons. Some of the best selling stuff in Sunday and Champion (excluding their runaway hits) are selling at Jump's mid-tier and those magazine's mid tiers would have been axed ages ago in Jump. Jump doesn't need to be the best selling to survive, it'll be fine.

Things you have on. sunday and champion are much better than the things you have at Jump.

It is useless to say that, things that have in such a magazine would not work in jump, it is all about disclosure and marketing.

The point you seem to have missed it Jump has a long ways to fall before it's in trouble. Every popular series they have could end this year and no one ever buys backlogs for any of them and they'd probably still sell better than Champion does. They are years and years away from any sort of risk to the point it's completely laughable to even consider it.

Even if Jump's current pillars vanished overnight, it's not like they would be in any immediate financial trouble. The past year has to have been one of the most lucrative in Jump history, between Kimetsumania and JJK's runaway success. Any series that gets axed is a drop in the bucket compared to the money Jump is making right now.

But it's not like Jump is twiddling their thumbs and not introducing new series. We have a very promising new batch starting just next week. I can't wait to see the preview page and get a peek at what Ame no Furu looks like.

Yes, but that does not mean that you shouldn't look for improvements even more, colleague.
Since Sunday and Champion are light years away, it is better to keep that distance than to let it reach in a few moments, no matter the distance.

The problem is when jump wants to keep manga from poor to bad performance, which makes it difficult for new promising series to enter.

Even though the jump still has a good performance in sales it does not mean that you should relax.

Ending bottom ranking series like Phantom Seer and Build King and bringing in new series is proof that JUMP isn't relaxing. Furthermore, giving Yozakura Family color pages, promoting Magu-chan and other series with T-shirts, and reprinting Cop & Dolphin s well as giving it a Vomic shows JUMP is working really hard to make these series big hits. Hoping they will succeed as I cant wait for their animes.

Maintaining series that have low volume sales and do not grow is a complete waste of money. Especially if the fandom of magu chan, C&D and HSF has no interest in buying the volumes.
I doubt that they survive long enough to have anime, and even if they do, it is no guarantee of success.
And does reprint seem to matter?
At the time of phantom seer you kept implying that reprints were not important and now they are?

Personally i doubt Yozakura will be getting an anime soon. It has yet to surpass 40k+ for a volume in its 1st month iirc. The anime will cost more than the money they have probably made from Yozakura comics etc.

I always thought Undead or Mashle would win anime before Yozakura. So imagine my surprise at the possibility of Ayakashi triangle winning anime before those three, even with a few chapters

Cop & Dolphin getting reprint for the first 2 volumes would have a much better impact/meaning if wasn't for the recent events, is basically the same "100k printed" thing done by the editor probably in the cover of the chapter or something, barely means anything at this point, but happy to see the manga potentially getting more readers, maybe if Jump pushed a little more around the first volume like with Magu-chan and Roboco...

Cough cough Komi-san cough cough

Sales itself doesn't matter much when getting a anime adaptation, there are dozen of series that sell less than Yozakura and get/got a anime, the point of a anime is exactly to bring the attention and elevate the sales, Yozakura is already what you can consider a popular series with potential to become bigger and Jump is finally pushing it in a regular basis, getting a announcement at 2nd anniversary or at least on Jump Festa in December would be perfect timing

That's one thing I'm jealous about Shonen Jump manga if the series last long enough it's a 95% chance it's going to get an anime

When was the last successful WSJ manga that didn't get an anime? Even Isobee got a bunch of shorts.
