JJK was also on Netflix in Japan, as are Kimetsu, Jojo and many others. The most likely choice for CSM in the west is Funimation, cause they reported on its announcement, which they are yet to do for a series they haven't licensed.

The diversity and inclusion aren't so strong concepts in Japanese manga. That would hardly be the reason for a same sex couple in a manga.
Is much less that they don't want to appeal to this group, and more that there's a big divide in between magazines on Japan. The authors and editors on Jump, may not push or want to publish series, featuring same sex couples, because there's already magazines there who are specialized in publishing this kind of manga. So they think that if they wanted this content, they would go to the specialized magazine, and not shonen jump. Even though, i believe that Jump knows and tries to cater their huge fujo following, they don't have a lot of interest in publishing a yaoi, because this may push way some readers from the work and the fujoshi, may end up not finding the work so interesting, the same goes to yuri.
Wherever, i don't think that a same sex romance manga would be a bad idea for Jump

Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia being absent really hurt this issue since both are at really interesting points in their new story arcs. My thoughts on this week's chapters:

Great:
1. (+2) One Piece - Loved the action this week; I like that it's starting to feel like this battle is nearing a possible end - on one hand is has been going on for ages but it is also a pivotal moment of the story with two characters that should be near impossible to beat so anything faster would feel wrong. On balance, I'm happy.

Good:
2. (+6) Undead Unluck - Enjoyed this chapter way more than last time, like the design of this new villain and some nice action again.
3. (+1) Me & Roboco - I'm a big fan of the Akane/Gorilla sub-plot so more than happy to have more chapters focusing on that dynamic.
4. (+3) Black Clover - Once again, cool action. Not really better than last week but with the other (better) series absent it feels like an improvement compared to the rest of the magazine.
5. ( = ) Sakamoto Days - Definitely enjoy this new character that was introduced even if the game itself did feel much less important to me. Still enjoyable however.
6. ( - ) Dr. Stone - Nice build-up to what seems like is going to be a massively important moment in the series.
7. (+2) High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku - This made me cringe in the exact way it wanted me to. I know many here expect/want HSF to be ending sooner rather than later but damn I'll miss this family.

Fine:
8. (+4) Phantom Seer (END) - The wrap-up felt rushed and like there's way more story to tell, but the final pages tying back to the first chapter were a nice touch. I'm sure many people won't let me forget this series whether I want to or not by the turbulent time its had in the magazine.
9. (-3) Nine Dragons' Ball Parade - I'm glad we're getting a real game going, feels needed at this point in the story. However, I'm not a fan of the new member of the team. I get that's the point but I'm hoping (and hopeful) we'll see a character arc beginning from this.
10. (+3) The Elusive Samurai - The story feels like its moving and the new character seems... interesting, at least.
11. (-1) Mashle - Yeah, this chapter relied totally on a gag that was not successful so let's just hope things pick up again next week.
12. (+3) Mission: Yozakura Family - Better than the past few repetitive action chapters, I'll give it that.
13. (-2) WITCH WATCH - I like the new tengu character and that a villain has been established for now. Wish I could say I enjoyed the way this chapter ended...
14. ( = ) Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin - I wanted to like this flashback, I really did! But I'm not sure it carries any weight with these characters I frankly don't know much or care about, especially when it feels like the story could end anytime soon.

Bad:
15. (+1) Magu-chan: God of Destruction - Cute enough, but not where I want the series to go right now.
16. (+3) Ayakashi Triangle - This was the best chapter of this mirror world story.
17. ( = ) I tell c - This is... dumb.
18. ( = ) Build King - I hope it does end next week. This was the worst chapter yet. Every page felt disconnected in a desperate way to include 15 different things happening all at once from a dozen characters nobody cares about. Mega yikes.

Looking forward to Blue Box next week and whether it's going to focus on one pairing or multiple throughout the school across its run.

They actually have been. Here's a post of Eden's Zero (Netflix) for example. https://www.funimation.com/blog/202...eals-preview-trailer-premiere-date-for-japan/

They also posted today's Jojo news despite not having any previous Jojo news and some Pokemon news.

You're totally right about the reasons why WSJ won't really have Yaoi and Yuri.

However, my point wasn't that.

SharkBait mentioned diversity and inclusion as reasons to show same sex couple. So, I want to explain that the appearance of same sex couples in manga wouldn't be for these reasons.

Yaoi and Yuri aren't for diversity or inclusion. These stories exist to appeal a certain demographic (which aren't gay men or lesbians).

Cop and Dolphin is so much better when it's doing backstory stuff than the actual plot imo. Really felt the absence of MHA and JJK this issue, having both of them back along with Blue Box will make next issue one to look forward to. Glad we're getting into an actual match in Kowloon, I think this could really make it or break it for the series.

I don't think Jump particular cater to fujo audience, just things popular with teenage boys at the same time are popular with fujos (brothership etc.).

Isn't current echhi manga in Jump full lesbians fanservice? Chainsawman had some lesbian fanservice. I think may obstacle for same sex romance manga be for example sales. If you compare straight romance manga sales with BL/Yuri romance, straight stuff outsell gay stuff by huge margin. I personally don't know if any BL/Yuri romance manga have sales close to 5toubun or other popular straight romcom. Also I don't think Jump want risk and greenlight gay male romance manga in shonen demographic magazine for obvious reason.

RIP Phantom Seer, I hope the artist returns at some point with a better writer.

Build King also most likely ending next week is no surprise, it's definitely heading that way story-wise. I think chapter 20 is the earliest veteran cancellation in a long time, maybe since the legendary Chagecha?

If they return that it is in another magazine (magazine, champion, sunday or young jump). Phantom Seer writing was not as bad as many point out.

Have to say, the direction of Shimabukuro's career is...quite something. He went from an author who Shueisha was legitimately trying to push on the same level of One Piece and Dragon Ball, to now being a failure who gets cancelled after 20 chapters. Almost makes me feel bad for him.

Dr. Stone has good plot, but it always just feels it needs more panels, and more chapters, and to draw things out more. Love it, but with these things it can sometimes make its more fantastic moments kind messily executed.

1. Dr. Stone: Chapter of the week once again. The plan devised by Senku is very clever and totally reckless - who would have thought of that? And how can anyone restore the status quo now that we are at this? A question that leaves you asking for more. Top notch storytelling.
2. Sakamoto Days: I like the new character very much, I find myself empathizing for him and I hope he will return as an ally of Team Sakamoto. I can really see this series taking the Gintama route of estabilishing a large cast and then going for small adventure arcs with a random selection of characters everytime (like "Gintoki, Katsura and Kondo get transformed into cats, hilarity ensues").
3. Hard-boiled Cop and Dolphin: Time for flashback! I like that it doesn't seem to fret and isn't afraid to take another chapter because it needs it. They are basically letting him developing its finale at its own pace so that the series will have a nice closure. It this sense, it's way luckier than series like Phantom Seer or Build King. Also, yay for sudden promotion!
4. Magu-chan: God of Destruction: The chapter of wholesomeness. Poor Naputaaku debuted as the less interesting character early on, but now that it has become the butt monkey of the series it takes good advantage of a chapter dedicated to his development.
5. Nine Dragons' Ball Parade: This is a character that either you like him, or you hate him. Fortunately I like him and no matter what our side is, we all have to admit that thanks to him next chapter will finally be about a baseball game!
6. Undead Unluck: The mission of this arc is to make Shen a more interesting character for me. So far, so good, since we get a bit of backstory and we get to know a little more of his personality, which I liked expecially with his lines in the last pages.
7. Mission: Yozakura Family: After what I found the most interesting fight of the arc, we cool down a bit while we prepare to conclude the showcase of Yozakura Family's Bankais. By the way, nice trick from the villain so he can't be attacked from the good guys.
8. Mashle: I am often critic of its repeatability, but this time the usual shtick of doing something absurd to win no matter what is applied to a more engaging situation rather than the usual fight. Now that a usual fight is starting, I just hope I will see something different this time...
9. One Piece: Nice chapter with two different situations where victory comes from teamwork. This is a setup for even more interesting chapters to come, so let's see how the whole situation will unfold.
10. Highschol Family: After winning the title of best spokon debuting in 2020, it now decided to challenge the upcoming Ao no Hako in its own territory: the romcom-spokon hybrid. I don't know how it happened, but now I find myself liking this series and its absurd but very human characters.
11. Ayakashi Triangle: Best chapter of the arc, this series is good in arc resolutions. From the clever strategy for defeating the monster to the ability of Suzu to empathize with Ayakashi, all in all it was a good chapter storytelling-wise.
12. The Elusive Samurai: A new (small?) arc begins, I can say that I like the new character already although he hasn't done anything relevant yet. Let's wait for next chapter where he will have a chance to prove his worth.
13. Black Clover: Nice action-packed chapter. It is always a fun read that leaves me with few cues to comment on, for this chapter the only one is "nice idea for representing your time limit".
14. Phantom Seer: It took the open ending route after the arc closure, as I guessed. I never liked this series very much but I think it didn't deserve to end like this. I was trying to find something to like about it since I expected at least a medium run.
15. i tell c: Reboot completed, this could have very well been the first chapter of a new detective series. So i tell c (part 1) was axed and i tell c (part 2) has begun, will this new series be able to survive the tough competition?
16. Witch Watch: I don't care for Tengu-Ogre rivalry, I don't care for dramatic change of pace, I don't care for mysterious prophecies, just give me back the weird classroom already. Let them live school adventures with classmates that accepted their powers without batting an eye.
17. Me & Roboco: Nope, another boring chapter. Either Roboco lost the magic, or I lost my connection with it. It seems that Highschool family took advantage of this situation to rise in my rankings. Nice move.
18. Build King: So if the real colour is Black, why all this focus on colour Gold before? Maybe I am reading too much into it, let's just end this series and move on.

Niraikanai has always had some really interesting ideas and settings at its core, and it tends to deliver when it focuses on them like it did this week. Maybe it would have helped if it had highlighted them more prominetly early on. Anyhow, I hope it can deliver a nice conclusion in the following ten or so chapters that it has left. Who know, it might even end up as a nice little series.
Unexpectedly, there is a chance that the entirety of the Ayakashi batch (all 4 series) passes the 50 chapter line. That has to be a record of some sort.

I have enjoyed reading Phantom Seer every week, especially because of the art, but I'm not particularly going to miss it. At the end of the day, it had really little to make it stand out from similar series.

Build King's biggest failure was ultimately, I think, that it never made "building", the central concept of the story, look fun or interesting at all. The house-mechs from the one-shot had their problems, but they were leagues more interesting that what we got. The only thing that identified Tonkatsu as a builder was that he used a hammer, which acted more like Goku's staff than a hammer, really. His whole "builder of peace" thing felt like a betrayal of the premise. Why are they builders if they are just going to act like martial artists?

I've come to like Elusive Samurai more and more each week. So far it's been having a monster-of-the-week structure but with quite refreshing scenarios and solutions (the dog-hunting arc was really cool). Some of its recent ToC positions are probably partly due to editorial push, but I hope the series is truly successful and manages to stick around. I like it.

The rest of the most recent batch doesn't have me particularly excited. Witch Watch is losing me. The whole premise seems to be several decades old. Like Robo-co in a way, but the execution makes it feel much older than that series. Meanwhile, i tell c's detective-in-love premise is proving to be a bit repetitive. I think that her quirky personality, and this week's chapter, would have worked better if the series was a comedy instead of a drama. Kowloons' is fine. It's competently drawn and written, but it's premise is quite unremarkable. I've seen this story before, and this version of it doesn´t excite me.

The Blue Box oneshot was good, but that was partly because of its self contained nature. I'm not sure what would be the best way to approach a serialization. A traditional sport approach with long matches would take too much attention from the romantic core of the premise, and, knowing Jump, a focus on romance would eventually devolve into a convoluted harem. I would be looking forward to this if it was published in Magazine, but not here. Let's hope Jump can evolve in the romance department.

I think the way it handled Tengu will probably be the only thing that makes it stand out.

Otherwise, I think one will find that Hell Warden Higuma did the using the demons powers much better and more refreshing than Phantom Seer and also, it had shocking story beats. I very well imagine if Hell Warden Higuma was running now, it would definitely be a JUMP mainstay. Serialized too soon.

I doubt I will remember Phantom Seer next year while I will still remember Higuma.

Then it's me who's a scratched record. you are constantly celebrating the cancellation of Phantom seer as if that would make the situation of C&D and magu chan better.
