Also Blue Box in the 7th chapter, not that being well received is much of a surprise kkkk
It's not, but getting a color page before it's even ranked is a surprise. Lots of confidence and an impressive start, hope Miura can keep it up!

The vast majority of the magazine is around "it's fine" levels, few things I really love and few things I actually hate. I don't really want to drop anything, since it's fun to read the entire line-up, but if I someday give up on this endeavor I will probably drop Black Clover. It's far from the series I dislike the most, but I already read a tooon of it and it's not going anywhere for now, nor I have expectations that it can somehow change to be more to my tastes. It is what it is and what it is isn't something I've been enjoying.

I enjoyed Oniyome, I could see it being a nice series, I hope the other oneshots get translated to see how they compare.

Might join in for a tierlist. Only really read JJK and Elusive Samurai weekly atm. Maybe a Roboco chapter here and there when i am in the mood and that's really it for the most part. Jump definitely had better line ups for me in the past but it feels like we are in a transitionary phase again like around 2014.
Edit: Just realized that i have actually read like 2 chapters of the Dolphin manga but would've been f anyway

Volume 99 Rough cover !

Volume 99 - 100 - 101 covers will be connected !!!
At this point it's very unlikely, but I'm quite hoping for the end of 101(~12 chapters from now) to be the end of Wano. I want to know what's happening in the outside world.

I love it, very fitting for the best ongoing series in the magazine.

--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

France is going to distribute the ENTIRE Prince of Tennis anime franchise (TV series + OVAs).

the publisher of PoT anime is really doing the work this year first Funi now this company. Wonder if any other old series will try to market itself worldwide like PoT is doing.

Both Yozakura and Cop & Dolphin feel like they are entering the climax. I don’t expect either of them to make it past summer. Though Yozakura at least will probably live another round.

Dr Stone: Called it. Though it can’t have been that long, since the previous timeskip already took us several years.

Mashle: That was great! Though it felt kinda short. But I’m really glad to see some new stuff here.

Blue Box: *snort* Well, at least this time he has sort of something to stress over (though she calls you by your first name too, dude). I’m rather liking the cynical best friend, too.

TES: … It would be cute if he was this worried about the boy. But the stress he puts on his bloodline calls up images of World’s End Harem, and that’s.. not cute.
10. The Elusive Samurai: A new adventure begins! The most interesting part is the brief introduction of the new villain, someone that isn't afraid of playing dirty since it's the speciality of the Elusive Warriors (like that name btw). I have a problem though: I can't remember at all how the chapter ended.
They are suddenly surrounded and then cliffhanger.
It could’ve been more impactful.

Candy Flurry: Hmm. Didn’t really like this one. It’s a bit early for a full-blown manhunt, and it’s hard to tell where they are in relation to each other (she can hear her, so they must be pretty close..? But I thought she was going fast?). Guess we’ll see where it goes.

WW: Lost me again.

Roboco: I enjoyed the Dragon Ball references and some of the jokes, I guess, but I really don’t like Roboco and I can’t see her as a hero.

Sakamoto: Really nice story. Though it makes me wonder where he was between then and now.

AT: So being timid and cowardly is considered cute? No wonder Japan has a sexism problem. Someone wake me up when there’s plot again.

UU: That was very sweet and touching, and no doubt cathartic for Shen (but I have no idea what his plan is).

Ball Parade: The first one I didn’t mind (the joke about the one-sided rivalry worked well enough), but the little tagalong felt dragged-in. And then there’s the villain, who feels like a cross between Hisoka and the headmaster from AssClass… which is a shame, because none of the other characters are caricatures and this story doesn’t need a villain.

I tell c: Huh. I actually liked this chapter. The main characters are absent, which is already a big plus (and yes, that is a problem), and instead we get a genuine phantom thief case, with clever tricks and everything, and the duty detective is doing an actual (if not very successful) attempt to solve the case while acting like a sane human being.

… I guess I’m putting the bar a bit low here, but still. If all chapters were like this, it might’ve had a chance.

A: I’d buy it
B: Mostly fun, occasionally annoying
C: It’s okay, but I’m not really invested in it
D: Mostly annoying, occasionally fun
F: I’m only reading it to complete the magazine

I barely even post here anymore but sure why not.

Some explanations for those that feel like hearing my opinions:
-I've never loved a manga more than Magu-chan. It's perfect. Part of my heart will die when it dies. Start selling goddammit.
-Sakamoto Days is my second favorite series in the magazine right now. Really fun action setpieces, good characters and comedy, and some sweetness underneath it all. Glad it's looking like a success.
-Nine Dragons' Ball Parade is way more enjoyable than I expected it to be with really endearing characters and solid development. I don't even particularly care about spokon but it's been fun. Only recently has it started to falter a little bit probably because they were told to wrap it up. Goodnight sweet prince, we hardly knew ye.
-Technically I'm not caught up with Undead Unluck, but with only 10 chapters to go I think I'm far in enough to form an opinion. Maybe it's just up here because recency bias, but despite the pretty rough start (didn't really interest me too much until Spoil and really grabbed me at Unrepair) there's a lot of interesting things going on in this one even if actually following what's going on requires a huge suspension of disbelief especially when it comes to Autumn's weird self-insert stuff. The power system is unique, it has a colorful cast of characters, the spreads are really nice and I like the anti-nihilism. My major complaint that brings it down is Andy and Fuuko's romance (which is a major driving force behind the plot) has a terrible foundation and the way its developed feels too unrealistic.
-I wasn't feeling Witch Watch at first, but it's grown on me. The characters are sweet and starting to come into their own. The super gaggy chapters usually aren't my favorite, which was why I wasn't into it early on, but it's good at being fantasy SoL with some light comedy and potential for drama/action later on. Holy shit, can't believe Mr. Magu-chan Fan likes fantasy SoL no way.
-MASHLE was laugh out loud funny in the early days, not so much now but it definitely has its humorous moments. The action isn't always the most dynamic but it never gets old watching Mash say screw the rules I have muscles at everything he faces. I just wish I cared more about the rest of the cast. Besides Mash, I only really like Finn. Also chapters tend to go by too fast, it was a better binge read than weekly read I think.
-Me and Roboco would've been higher a couple months ago but it's been getting viscerally uncomfortable lately and it's been more pain than fun for the last few chapters. Only last week's was okay out of the last like...what, 4? They gotta quit it with this awkward Roboco/Bondo stuff man. Well, when it's good it's cute and kinda nostalgic, Gorilla and Motsuo are great and the humor isn't bad when it lands. When it's bad it makes me want to barf.
-High School Family is kinda just there, but it's generally pleasant in the moment. It has definitely improved since making the switch from 11 pages to 15. Dad and Gomez could carry the manga by themselves though honestly.
-Technically Mission: Yozakura Family is stalled while I catch up on other (shorter) things, but I liked what I read even though I'm still in the episodic portion. Nice to see it doing well now. It's only really in C tier because I forgot too much about it, it'll probably go to at least B when I get to properly reading it again. My birthday is the same as Taiyo's so I feel like I'm bound to this manga or something.
-Blue Box is alright but it's not appealing to me as much as everybody else and tends to go in one ear and out the other for me. It should be my thing on paper, but I don't care enough for the characters yet and I really want to get a perspective other than inside Taiki's head. It's still early, so we'll see if it turns around like Witch Watch or if it'll end up feeling like more of an obligation read for me.
-I used to actually get a lot of enjoyment out of i tell c's ridiculously bad writing, but lately it's just been boring for me. I hope it still manages to go out with a bang when it inevitably gets cancelled in like a month.
-I don't feel anything when reading Candy Flurry at all. I can see myself dropping it if it doesn't pick up. I was hoping for something either really good or funny bad but instead I got absolutely nothing.
-I'm opposed to Hard Boiled Cop & Dolphin on principle but I read the first chapter anyway. It sucked. I heard it got a lot better but eh, there's not much driving me to go back to it like there was with other series with bad first chapters like Roboco.
-Everything in the second-to-last tier is either considerably long or just off my radar at the moment, but I respect them enough to put them down for consideration, or at least anime-onlying stuff like HxH and JJK.
-One Piece is way too long and inaccessible to even bother making an attempt. It requires lots of time and effort to get into and that time and effort I have not. Black Clover is also too long and just doesn't interest me at all. I don't like ecchi and even if I did Ayakashi Triangle is now just doing straight up incest so haha, no.
