Nah existing players don't have to do anything once the league has been reactivated by the league admin. Only new participants need to be sent an invite. @scav did you send an invite to Sho?

Another thing to have fun with besides having 8 different injured players on squad at once.

Have been thinking about MPJ for a while.... feat and production-wise, he deserves every penny of his contract extension, but his vaccination holdout is a bit of a concern. Granted, Denver doesn’t have the strict protocols that NY and San Fran do, but the mere possibility that a game can be swung in the opposing team’s favor just because they lost him to Covid should have crossed the team’s mind at some point.

So what I’m wondering is, did they attach his vaccination status (or a lack of) to the contract? That’s what I would do, tbh. I feel like if this leaked out in the coming days, they can still play dumb but it’ll be pretty obvious by the time the season starts.

Not sure about his vaccination status being in his contract but as far as in aware his injury issues are, but I'm not sure to what extent anymore. I was listening to the athletic podcast and they mentioned that.

Also to bear in mind, the league is allowing teams to dock pay for players who miss games due to being unvaccinated. We'll see if this becomes a deciding factor later.

Yeah, this is the part that stood out to me. I’m sure the team would’ve raised this possibility with him in the negotiations, so is MPJ that dumb to sign his first major contract only to lose money in the end? (Tbf, he probably is)

I think perhaps players were naively expecting there to be some sort of NBA exemption, but cities like San Francisco and NY are standing firm in their decisions regarding vaccination. Maybe it's that or he just values this personal decision over money?

On one hand I understand not wanting to be forced into making decisions like this but say you're healthy and can only play 41 games all season for your team because of this choice. In MPJ's situation, Denver really need him because Murray is still out injured for God knows how long. It's interesting to say the least, because if these players then decide to change their minds, then all this hold out was just pointless time wasting.

exactly vaccaned players went from 90% to 95% after league took that stance. now that they have to put their money where they mouth at im sure more will take the jab. Kyrie is the wild card tho, he the kind of dude who could just retire on a whim
