Maybe it's because we haven't seen an expert so far but Spells seem too random. And their conditions are weird it's hard for me to imagine a true Sorcerer in battle ATM. That Question Mark one for example.

Well, one of the reasons is that spells are not often learned in the tower. The best example of sorcerers we've had is Arlen till now. And that guy who used question marks was really strong compared to regulars. SIU said in the blog post that it's hard even for top regulars to fight someone who knows spells if they don't have a good understanding of spells. So spells can be used as powerful means in a fight because, at the very least, not many know how to counteract them.
I said it would be cool for Bam to use them although I'm not sure he would because the rank of spells depends on mediums. And Bam is related to the outside God, so he could take advantage of this feature. And he's almost immune to spells.

They can be used in a fight yes but I am not fond of their use so far. Spells are from the Tower themselves so they must still be taught, but because of Zahard they are not as popular anymore.

It really can't be any more obvious spells are going to be central to White moving forward when the guy in the driver's seat is talking about them and holding spell books harder than any movie product placement that exists.

• Asensio comments that the Khun Family hate being stabbed in the back.
  • Perhaps they like to do the backstabbing themselves.
    • Maschenny at least seems to be fond of backstabbing.
  • Is this foreshadowing that Asensio would backstab AA and Co?
• Maschenny wasn't impressed by Baam defeating White.
  • Did she already have much higher expectations for Baam?

Seems like It's just an excuse to keep him alive, and if he is still High Ranker lvl while Baam is unconscious how the hell did he lose vs Baam ? Anyway I liked this chapter a lot. Having Koon take the lead somehow immediately made this feel more like... ToG is supposed to feel to me somehow. The offbeat comedy bits. The more conversational stuff and the way that was paced. I enjoyed seeing more of that come back.

• He's not surprised to see White on Baam's field.

It sounds like Maschenny was aware of Baam vs White. I also think it was one of her minions that blinded Baam's field from McCage.
