Ayashimon is more like Onepunch-man but as a hot-blooded teenager starved for a brutal fight to the death. Elder Sis hardly had any time to shine in this chapter whatsoever which is a shame since she seems to be the more interesting part of becoming the new mafia boss vs several other gangs. Chapter was all about MC whining and his horrible past life and hard training that made him so superhuman strong that he can reveal even Yokais, didn't really cared much for that tbh. I am more interested in the "feeding zone" concept and the beef 1vs1 rituals, the yokais do need a good system to hide the deaths of humans they devoured after all. Else sooner or later people would know they really exist and feed on humans and I doubt mankind would just accept that.
Could see this survive the axe and last quite a while though. Red Hood and Neru just ended, doubt WSJ will go for a new axe round for several months after this. Especially since some of the longer running ones seems to be in their final arcs even if that make take some time to really finish.

After reading the first chapter, I also wasn't too keen on Ayashimon. The super strong but somewhat moronic MC really didn't do it for me. Got a good chuckle out of the Kamehameha though.

Could be successful, but probably won't be my personal cup of tea.

Ayashimon will have the problem of a main character that doesnt develop in any meaningful way.

Also feels like he likely has some demon within him or attached to him.

He's cute though so I will cheer him on.

HeroAca finally did a BLack Clover and subverted my expectations. Definitely one of the best non BakuKiriKami fights in the entire manga, anime, and movie 3 (baku + todo respective fights were so cool).

I know I brought this up before, but do you guys see AyaTri being prepped to end? Love confessions tend to be pretty finalistic in manga like these.

It's possible, but it could also be Yabuki wanting to do something different and make some proper progress for a change since To Love Ru never really had any. A lot of Ayakashi Triangle feels that way to me, like Yabuki's doing different things he maybe wanted to do in To Love Ru but couldn't due to someone else writing. There's much more fighting, girl on girl fanservice, mostly focusing on the one main girl instead of many girls evenly, and so on.

I notice mid-series confessions are starting to happen a little more frequently. Without really spoiling any Hokkaido Gals, Yankee JK Kuzuhana, even stuff like My Monster Secret, Quintessential Quintuplets and Kaguya Love is War all had confessions take place quite a ways before the ending that either got brushed off in the usual rom-com misunderstanding antics, led to rejection, or even led to dating. I wouldn't say a confession means too much right now.

I looked up at the raw and Suzu says it "wrong" because she's eating ("Raifuki" instead of Daisuki), so maybe that's what will cause the misunderstanding (it would be kinda stupid but it's possible). I would like to see what the translation would have to pull up for it to make sense in english tho

Like said about the raw and now after reading, i don't see Ayashimon flopping, will at least be like Ayakashi Triangle with stable sales, but i think it will be overall popular, good 1st chapter, cool protagonist that teenagers/readers can engage with due to the connection with Jump mangas, cute main girl, nice action and art.

And well, goodbye Neru, it sucks that the manga just flopped, it was definitely more consistent and better written than RH, it wasn't terrible by any means but for some reason got under the radar just like Kowloons Ball Parade, i wish the best for the author, he has good potential.

Yabuki is directly working on stuff for Ayakashi Triangle event on Jump Festa? Interesting...:grumble

Btw, happy to see Hasegawa is finding some success on Jump Plus, seems like is becoming more and more common for WSJ authors...

WSJ # 51 preview :

WSJ issue #50 Authors' comments :

I'm really surprised this is Yusei first time taking a break. Major props to him for doing assassination classroom for that long without taking a break. Also I didn't realize he was in his early 40 I thought he was older than that for some reason.

I liked Ayashimon. I trust Yuji, because Gabimaru was pretty OP right from the start and Jigokuraku was great.
The color spread reminded me of Studio Ghibli movies.

Yeah, was worried reading some impressions, but I enjoyed the first chapter.

Though as with any series, depends what he does with the next 5-7 chapters.

About the end of Neru, for me at least the biggest problem was that for a story about martial arts there weren't many fights
