Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
3. Zoro > Luffy
4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
6. Mihawk's rank within the story
7. Law having CoC currently.
8. Katakuri > Kaido/Luffy/Etc.

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

Big Mom and Kaido don't have it and they do just fine.

1. I'm not 100% sure if Katakuri can hurt Zoro either. Zoro tanked Big Mom's named lightning attack. Katakuri Couldn't KO or even seriously damage Base Luffy after 11 hours. Base Hyozou kept up with G2 Luffy. Zoro stomped amped Hyozou. If Katakuri's AP was too weak for Base Luffy it isn't doing much to Zoro.

2. Wadatsumi is unquestionably stronger than a Pacifista. Moriah is weaker than a pacifista.

1. Katakuri is absolutely capable of hurting Zoro,Zoro's not a zoan or a anything lol also we've seen almost every character in One Piece can tank lightning. Hardly a feat at this point in the story.

1. Nothing is confirmed, and even if she does join, Oda will power Zoro up. As of now, Zoro isn't stronger than Yamato.

Luffy winning this fight doesn’t mean he stronger than kaido. Luffy would be in the ballpark of a yonko but I don’t see him beating a fully healthy kaido or BM wihtout any help yet. maybe elbaf would determine that

I don't think CP0 was overestimated. 2 CP0 members basically mid diff'd Drake, Apoo and 2 numbers. Ending with Drake and a number KO, while Apoo and the other number running away. Drake, IMO, was the strongest Tobiroppo and a commander level character.

I think it's more of a case of us underestimating Izo and Scabbards in general.
Izo especially has kinda proved himself now. I think he's probably as strong or even stronger than Jack.

Jack was slightly stronger than base Cat/Dog, I see Izo the same way as well. So yes, it's not like Jack faced them in a 2v1.
I see them all in same tier.

Izo faced 2 CP0 members, beat one and injured another.
They both are collectively above Drake + Apoo + 2 numbers

Remember Snack was considered a commander before his defeat. I always included 4 ranks for the commanders…even if WB has 14….Perospero, Ulti & XDrake are pretty damn strong themselves.

The CP0 were injured from their fight also as was Izo from the Gifters he saved Usopp from.
So Izo managing to take out on of them is impressive 2 vs 1.

Oda is such a troll and so clever he puts caveats in so many fights, and the stamina of these characters they just won’t stay down when they lose…..

After seeing the feats of CP0, and then feats of Izo, I have a hard time believing he's weaker than Cat/Dog/Jack. I consider Izo >= them, but yes, same tier and extreme diff fight between any of these individuals.
The 2 CP0 members basically mid diff'd a 4v2 fight, taking down Drake (arguably the strongest Tobiroppo) and a number, and got Apoo and another number fleeing.
The CP0 members do seem like low commander level characters.
And Izo took down one of them and injured another in a 2v1


Whitebeard pirates were on an entirely different league from the other two Yonko crews we know. It does seem that way as time progress more and more.
Apart from the first 5 commanders of WB pirates, which we all agree are strong even relative to the 3 commanders of Kaido/BM. Now we see that commanders 6-16 are also pretty strong as well, now that we saw feats from Izo.
As for Kaido's and BM's crew, yeah, there are others who are candidates for low commander level (i.e Jack/Cracker tier). Snack, Perospero, X Drake and Ulti fit this bill IMO.

At least as of now, Izo has a better portrayal from that fight over the other two, individually.

I just want to point out, Izo hasn't faced them 2v1. The other one is clearly sitting down in a fashion that seems very unrelated to combat, and we also see what he is doing, he is communicating with the third one.

If the other dude was just sitting out, why would be be panting exhausted and more injured than he previously was?

Clearly him "sitting down" was something Izo made him do. Probably knocked him off far enough to get the opportunity to finish off the other dude

Yeah sure Izo knocked him into sitting there cross-legged.

There even is a "flash" symbol above his head signaling surprise, implying he didn't pay attention to the fight until his partner got taken out. He was already bruised up when they encountered Izo and is panting from the surprise. He didn't expect Izo would sacrifice himself to take Maha out, he even said that.

Well Izo got one CP0 out of commission, more than what a Tobi Roppo member could achieve. I'm glad we just got one panel, i'm sure even Oda doesn't know how to show a fight with guns and make it interesting.

Both imo were fighting Izo; I don’t see why they wouldn’t jump Izo and get rid of him quickly instead of fighting 1 on 1 and actually waiting for a conclusion to the fight to intervene.
