Frickin' beautiful.

Remember that KGB takes place around the 90s if we observe architecture, vehicles and tech (not the flipphones). 50,000,000 yen is 328,000 dollars which in 1990 would equate to 800,000 dollars which is... still pretty cheap for a nuke. Guess Kyora was being stingy.
I forget what the source for this was but I've seen it enough times around to assume there's some truth to it: it's supposed to be in an alternate 1950s Japan. Of course that gets weird when you see certain anachronistic tech like old cellphones and....a game console.

not the flipphones
The Motorola StarTAC was released in 96. Japan had flip phones at the time. Japanese cell phones were far more ahead of the time than their western counterparts. It's honestly quite fascinating.

Thank you. I just needed a day away. But at the same time, I know I won’t last long. I’m thinking about my future and if I ever do come back, I hope it will be freedom like everyone Luffy has saved.:luffy

Well, yeah but digital sales are part of how big a series is. It doesn't matter if more people bought physical copies of Yuuna, we have proof that more people are reading Sakamoto/Blue Box than it, so yeah, pure physical is fairly irrelevant.
Do we? Where is the data/info that more people were reading Sakamoto and Blue Box at 10 volumes than Yuuna at 10 volumes? If you speak right now, well it's quite obvious Blue Box is much more popular, but within the comparison of 10 volumes, at the time digital/kindle volumes was already a thing it was just not as prominent as today, the magazine circulation itself was much bigger, and digital Shonen Jump was also already a thing before Yuuna even started, so i don't know, Blue Box was in fact very close to Yuuna since the start but Sakamoto Days took a while to even reach 100k in a month, Yuuna was definitely a bigger success for a good while.

Kagurabachi is killing it! Let's goooooooo! Also don't see any astro royale or kill blue there, maybe saito should just get ride of them
Kill Blue didn't release a volume in October lol and the cut of the Top 20 was 89k, why you're acting like Astro #2 was expected to have sold like 90k in a month :grin

Few comments going off topics about US politics deleted, i asked to not go off topic about it, so please let's move away from the topic from now, it's a japanese manga thread not about politics or how anyone is feeling about the election, important to notice, this is not me taking any political side just keeping the thread from going off topic, thanks! :super

Edited including Nov 8 since seems like Iker is off, pretty big drops for both Hima-Ten and Kiyoshi, now under Chojo, i wonder if stock are starting to go out or just regular drop.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was under-printed. Although that also depends on when that Oda rec was decided on. I highly doubt they'd have under printed if they knew Oda planned to rec it.

The recommendation is in the obi included in each copy of the manga available, so they knew it before deciding how many copies to print

I see. Damn. Guess my hopes of under printing were unwarranted. Hopefully we can get a rise with vol 2.

Not really, MamaYuyu which got recommeded by Gege Akutami got a reprint announcement 4 days after release, it sold 4.848 copies in 3 days while Kiyoshi did 4.098, so i would expect a reprint to also happen for Kiyoshi and Hima-Ten soon.

I'm gonna try to be fair to Kiyoshi and say that, since everything dropped pretty significantly on the 8th, it might be more stock issue?

That said being consistently that much lower than Chojo is not a good thing no matter how you slice it.

As for Himaten, it keeps jumping up and down around Chojo, so I will refrain saying much before we see the sales numbers, but I am getting more confident in saying it will survive the next batch at least.

lol the Kinokuniya Store advertising Hima-Ten! volume in front of the Nisekoi volumes:

Astro being advertised with Tokyo Revebgers in the Kodansha section and now this, these bookstores know their stuff at least :grin

Btw, they could have reached Naoshi for a obi recommendation...
