Very good Jump issue this week but also kinda weird:

Witch Watch potentially ending next year and Chojo dropping a pseudo-finale feel of a chapter. Kiyoshi also confusing too, it feels axed and progressing at the same time but I'm really hoping it sticks.

Also what a fire Kagurabachi chapter. Art was rough and I worry for taco sensei, but hooey what a twist. Strongest Nue chapter for me in a while too, I really enjoyed this— felt a lot like the one Black Clover chapter ~100 ish chaps in where I got really hooked instead of reading with a sense of "meh it's alright". Loved UU and Akane a lot too this week, and I think Shinobi is finding its groove in an early Kill Blue sort of way. Also Kill Blue thrives in comedy, and I hope it sticks through it especially if this ends up being a last arc deal due to another axe situation looming.

No seriously, I was stuck after last chapter wondering how they could possibly give the bad guys a leg up after Samura retrieved Tobimune.
Never once crossed my mind that Hokazono would make it so Samura was never on their side to begin with. Saw a lot of JP fans comparing the reveal to Bertholdt and Reiner from AoT which was pretty hilarious.

Not really, Shinjuku Swan sold around 70-80K at the end of its run, and he had two flops afterward. It's the same effect as calling Iwashiro or Kano a big name, he only had a niche success and two flops beforehand. Revengers was p. much his breakout hit.

Bruh, are you really comparing Shinjuku Swan to Psyren or Kano's romcom series? Wakui was well known for Shinjuku Swan, it was a seinen hit, it run for 38 volumes, 8 years, it had a live action drama series and 2 live action movies, it wasn't a "niche" series lol

And honestly, everytime his new work flopped, it was because he was seeking new reader audience base and I admire him for that

Surprisingly Himaten got the best legs out of Chojo and Kiyoshi

Some thoughts:

-Another great chapter for Kill Blue, the manga it's in a pretty good streak of chapters, even the jp haters admit it's interesting, Fujimaki should just stick with the relatable comedy and SoL type of chapters for as long as he can, it's definitely when the manga is at it the best, also don't know if others noticed but this is the most consistently well drawn chapter in a while, Fujimaki was really struggling with the art during the last arc but it has finally come back to it's original quality these last weeks, hopefully it can keep that, and about next round, it's definitely going to happend on #11 or #12 after the anniversaries, so it's like 10 chapters from here and i don't know how many chapters the festival will be, and the director said he will not do anything so until Fujimaki actually touches the main plot again, i don't expect the series to go anywhere.

-Nue chapter was pretty good, and damn, this panel goes really hard:

-Astro didn't go as i was expecting, and this is good, i thought it would be the classic "mc vs main villain" but it will be Kinpa the one to defeat Himuro? That's cool, next week color pages and i hope we get some nice Kinpants

Also another panel that goes hard:

-It was actually a pretty cool action chapter for Kiyoshi, the artists is pretty good for his 1st series but did the author just literally used Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingan design for the Demon Lord eyes?

-Not gonna lie, the final page of Murakami made me feel a bit bad for the author when i saw, i don't know, such a casual "Thank You", but it's not like the author was axed with 16/17 chapters too, it was 21, he had the time to do stuff and choose to be very casual about it, so well, i didn't hate the series or anything just didn't care about but it was just a bizarre choice to push the series as a "end of the issue" manga, it was kinda obvious from the start it wouldn't be popular, and pretty sure that's it for Ihara on WSJ, no way it gets a 3rd series after 2 gag bombs, Jump Plus it's the right place for him, i wish good luck in the future works.

Pretty excited for Tsutsui return next week
