between yozakura supposedly being able to go on a while longer and UUpotentially needing more chapters to fill volume space....are we getting a very delayed new batch??

I think we'll get a 2 series batch. With Hakutaku and Undead x Unluck ending. With UxU's final volume just being filled with one-shots + extra chapters. With a one series batch a month or so later when Yozakura ends.

At this point guessing Hakutaku will join the U19 club so a new batch could be in the next 7 issues.

Don't fall for the Astro bait by the Editor in Chief, Astro Royale is doing splendidly well.

About the TOC:

Kiyoshi top 5 yeahhh! The promotion is working probably . I hope it continues like that, the series deserve it all
Hima ten got in the bottom.. okay not that bad, it's the first time
Shinibigoto goes up and gets out from the bottom. Very nice
Elusive is in the place where it belongs, Same Witch watch, while Chouji rise up and get out from the bottom.
For kill blue the situation is becoming very dark, if it continues like this could be axed along Hakutaku...
Uu is probably ending in a couple or max 3 chapters. As expected from the latest one.
Yozakura fill probably follow it soon
Astro situation is pretty unclear. I will wait for the next week to see what kind of ranking will take.
Kagurabachi 6th as expected. Nice

I don't understand the high kiyoshi placement since the sales will most likely not increase with volume 2.

Why would Kill Blue be axed, Kill Blue is presently the longest running ongoing subsequent non sequel series without an anime in jump by a massively high selling author, it has significant protection from Kurobas name brand recognition and Kurobas is still receiving new art and merch.

IIrc, Beelzebub had it too. It also had extra pages for its final chapter.

Didn't stop them from cancelling his previous series Robot x Lazerbeam, which ended with a similar number of chapters and was infinitely better than Kill Blue.
Nor did it stop them from cancelling series like Samurai 8.

If Jump doesn't think it has the potential to become more profitable, then they aren't afraid to dump it.

Undead just started a new volume and they are 2 out of 7/8? chapters filled up.

so 6 chapters or 14 chapters left max

Personally i would be more happy with 14 chapters, but if it is ending in 6 chapters it could be alright too.

The final volume could just have more chapters then usual instead. I have a 12 chapters volume of Nisekoi on my bookshelf lol.

I get it's probably bait, but weren't you going on for months about how ToC is the deciding factor behind whether a series lives or dies? Not that I nescecerily agree, though if anyone here were to think it was unsafe I thought for sure it'd be you. It's last place in essentially everything.

I get it's probably bait, but weren't you going on for months about how ToC is the deciding factor behind whether a series lives or dies? Not that I nescecerily agree, though if anyone here were to think it was unsafe I thought for sure it'd be you. It's last place in essentially everything.

It is but in the last thread it was noted that most series have been bouncing all over the place in the ToC seemingly at the random will over the editor in Chief. Too many aberrant wild swings and goofball color page decisions to make conclusions for surviving series

The only ToC truth now that is evident is the consistency in last place dwellers (Hakutaku) and if a new series doesn't earn any additional color page following chapter 2 (Yokai Buster Murakami) leading to early termination.

A lot of people are saying that it can't next issue for a few reasons but I think it definetely can.

It doesn't have to fill the final volume completely or some volumes can be bigger.
Mha is a good example since the final volume had 8 chapters and not the usual 12 for it.

And a chapter announcement isn't required since for example mashle and dr. stone didn't get a chapter announcement.

Not only different times but Kill Blue has been more successful than both series, specially Samurai 8, it only sold less volume copies than RxL but that came out when Kuroko no Basket was still a hot franchise with a new movie released the same month, also if RxL was "infinitely" better i think it wouldn't have flopped in the ToC as fast as it did lol

Not really arguing that Kill Blue has a infinite protection but the series had a entire successful 1st year, which is why the series still going and getting promotion.

Hard to rank this week. Think I'm gonna have to go with

Ichi has been fantastic this whole arc, but this chapter was just on another level. Love that we're finally getting our bad boi ensemble rolled out. Interesting to have them be Majiks rather than an elite group of evil male witches. So excited to see where this leads.

Hunter x Hunter was just brilliant. Really hope this hiatus is a short one because this cliffhanger is a wild one to leave us on. There's so much I could say but I don't wanna write out an essay for one series.

After a dope fight, we get a great cooldown chapter for Shinobi. Reminded me of why I was initially so in love with the series in the first place. Glad the series managed to pick itself back up after faltering for a short bit.

Syd Craft was just ultra comfy. I really like the set-up, characters, and world being built. Really hope it can sell well despite its low viewcount on digital platforms. Want this to stick around.

Feels weird leaving off both Nue and Kagurabachi, but I really wasn't feeling them this week. Real shame too, given last weeks Kagurabachi honestly might be my favorite chapter of the series. But once people start dying and being brought back in a battle shonen, I start to feel real iffy. Especially given it's seemingly implied Uruha is still alive as well.
Nue wasn't a bad chapter per-se, and honestly I'm going to love the "RESCUE SHIROHA" arc, and it'll probably be my favorite of the series. Doesn't change how much this chapter HURT though.

As a result, Astro just barely made it on my top 5. While there's lots in the chapter I found really dumb. It also just felt like a classic battle shonen, reminded me of reading Jump as a kid in the very early 00's. So I had a lot of fun with it regardless.

Jump pretty rarely announces final chapters the issue before.

Robot x Lazerbeam getting cancelled doesn't mean much. Success & failure are not always markers of quality. Especially given contemporary discussions on RxL were always pretty positive. Kill Blue has never had much acclaim.

TOC is more or less perfectly accurate (specifically bottom 2-3) but only in the weeks leading up to a cancellation round. For the first month or so after a serialization, a handful of less popular works will occupy the bottom.

If there was a work they planned to axe then they would have axed it in the previous round. So between rounds there is some wonkiness, especially when every series is doing okay. There is confusion literally every time this happens even though it is always the same deal.

That said Kill Bleu could totally kick it despite perceived popularity but I'd be skeptical if the news about UU ending is true.
