Just axe Kill blue, it keep declining in sales and the reception of the chapter based on TOC is the second worst of the magazine lol
Anime can save it tho but so far all results are catastrophic
Ima keep saying it, there is enough newbies wanting to make a hit. Saito go back to the good old days and AXEEEEEEYAAAAAAAAAAAA.

But on serious note, it Will just get an neutral ending.

Plus veterans to come back.
Regardless of Kill Blue's quality, it just kind of seems like a waste of a spot atm.

Except Kill Blue has been mostly in the bottom 5 for months now.
Yeah but the stuff that actually gets cut is basically always dip below it when the axes start. It's in the back of the magazine, yeah, but so was UU for most of its lifespan.

A lot of newbies, maybe not that many skilled newbies rn

Fair, but eventually it won't have any more buffers.

I mean all of this arguing,it’s assuming Kill Blue is selling bellow expectations, right.
isn’t kill blue an action comedy like Mashle or Kiyoshi.

it sells about the same amount as Kiyoshi and is Kiyoshi is kinda a success apparently, why is kill blue suddenly the axe bait.

Since WyldViolet used film as a example,I just used TV. Is it possible that Kill Blue is designed to be a cult hit,not to be a rating juggernaut but to keep a certain type of viewer watching.

besides,an lot of the first half of Kurok’s basketball ranked poorly……..it took until deep Into the 100s chapters for it to not consistently rank near Bottom
Actually sell quite more than Kiyoshi.

Kill Blue's an everything series, really. Hitman action comedy sports romance teen drama.

Though the romance inherently can never lead anywhere, the sports are mostly gone (the horse riding was really just a gimmick battle), the action's nothing special, and the comedy and teen drama doesn't match up to Witch Watch or Himaten, leaving the series rather devoid of any remaining strong points compared to its competition.
Why you're comparing with Hima-ten? they're nothing alike lol

99% of them which are going to flop anyway, Kill Blue isnt preventing any newbie from making a hit :grin

Personally though, I liked RxL a lot more than KnB and thought it had much more charisma personally.
Hot take

Bro, I legit read it as Hima-Ten too. Took me like 3 rereads to realize it actually said "hitman" lol.

And yea, I personally think RxL is one of Jump's most underrated series. Will always sing its praises when it comes up.

Oh yea, you're right. Duh.
I guess he's probably just saying that given Kill Blue is trying to be a swiss army knife of shonen genres, it doesn't really excel at any single thing that any of the series that fall under one genre are already doing.

My point is that, with the sports gone, every aspect of Kill Blue is now outclassed by multiple series.

Sakamoto Days and Kagurabachi are better at action, Blue Box and Himaten are better at school life and romance, Witch Watch and increasingly Kiyoshi are better at mixing serious stuff and comedy, heck even the very specific school bodyguard premise is being done better now by Shinobigoto (where the enemies are actually trying to kill her, and there's potential for romance).

Its strength was being a jack of all trades covering a bunch of genres only filled by one series or even nothing else, but now there's 2-3 better choices in all directions except the one genre it stopped doing.

Tbh, Shinobi Undercover is everything Kill Blue should've been imo.
Kill Blue definitely bit off way more than it was capable of chewing and just kind of vomited everything out on the page. Sure, some of the food it consumed may have been of high quality, but now it's just an indiscriminate mess.

If Shinobi Undercover its everything what Kill Blue should have been why its not doing as well as Kill Blue did so far? :grin

lol again why are you comparing Kill Blue with at least half of the magazine as if its a competition? all of these series excluding Kgb and Shinobigoto have been successful before Kill Blue even existed, not to mention neither Kgb or Kiyoshi has any resemblance with KB plot, what exactly was Kill Blue filling until Kagurabachi started?

I understand your point but the thing is that we're talking about a case and situation where something failed simply for not being good enough despite having all the hard work already done for it, RxL had the author, sales, early good reception and push from the magazine, so why it failed to keep going? its not like the writing was even different than Kuroko no Basket, it had the same tropes and fujo bait characters, what would be the mystery reason RxL got axed other than not being good enough? i'm not even calling the manga "bad" but it was pretty much a worse and less charismatic Kuroko no Basket.
Except the ultimate determinant of popularity is sales. Rankings are determined by a test audience. Rankings also clearly depend on what state WSJ is in, and right now it isn’t good. Laserbeam would survive today just look at EluSam. What sells has to be popular, what ranks doesn’t have to be.

Except Shinobi stills diverts readers. Even if it isn’t an instant hit, it still is read, and will cause competition.

Elusive Samurai had always ranked way better than Robot x Laserbeam, and just overall much better received and popular, really not the best comparison.

Because look at the competition EluSam had. Selling 50K+ was literally enough for Akane to be billed as a big hit. Laserbeam’s sales, while well above the average flop where really nothing special for the time. This is the reason you’re argument fails to work you’re not taking account of the situation of Jump, just making some generalizations.

You do realise that Robot x Laserbeam had one of the best selling 1st volumes for a Jump manga right? the series sales was far from being "nothing special" lol what killed the series was the ToC rankings which sunk in less than a year

Yeah, its first volume did well, but it wasn’t axed because of the first volume right? It had a shit trend. EluSam and UU also had shit trends and survived, as does Kill Blue. Ergo, Laserbeam was in a more competitive era/Kill Blue being in a shit one.

I’d do a more thorough dissection of your points but I’m on my phone and have had this argument with you so much I can’t really be bothered.

Kill Blue vs Shinobi Undercover discourse let's go!

I am counting on Shinobi Undercover to ultimately be the more successful work solely because Yodaka can fuck minors and Ogami can't!

Wait no, don't screenshot that!

Because dufferent than RxL both series didnt just die in the rankings in 30-ish chapters, Ichinose is pretty much a example of a series that surpassed Akane in its first volume (over 50k) and still got axed due to rankings falling apart in 30 chapters, and that was just 1/2 years ago

Personally I like them both, they do different things. Santa art is better than Kill Blue, but Kill Blue writing is incredible.
