TOC is more or less perfectly accurate (specifically bottom 2-3) but only in the weeks leading up to a cancellation round. For the first month or so after a serialization, a handful of less popular works will occupy the bottom.

If there was a work they planned to axe then they would have axed it in the previous round. So between rounds there is some wonkiness, especially when every series is doing okay. There is confusion literally every time this happens even though it is always the same deal.

That said Kill Bleu could totally kick it despite perceived popularity but I'd be skeptical if the news about UU ending is true.
Except Kill Blue has been mostly in the bottom 5 for months now.

Jump pretty rarely announces final chapters the issue before.
Dr. Stone and Mashle didn't announce that the next chapter is the final one , they just announced some kind of final climax.

Yep. I've been following the magazine weekly now since 2011. That's the usual course.

Just axe Kill blue, it keep declining in sales and the reception of the chapter based on TOC is the second worst of the magazine lol
Anime can save it tho but so far all results are catastrophic

it’s mind boggling how many color pages it still gets despite the obvious decline

Why is sharing our opinion mean? It's not like they called Kill Blue bad. Just that it probably should be cancelled given nothing Jump does to promote it seems to work, despite it being from a huge vet. Sure, an anime could help, but I kind of doubt it personally.

Robot x Lazerbeam getting cancelled doesn't mean much. Success & failure are not always markers of quality. Especially given contemporary discussions on RxL were always pretty positive. Kill Blue has never had much acclaim.
It came after a huge success, It sold over 100k in the 1st volume and it ranked decently well af first getting a fast 2nd cover, it had everything going on for it and still flopped in the rankings before even reaching the 1st anniversary, if the manga was really good it would have been a hit.

Everything you said is correct except for the last 11 words. As I said before, success & failure are not always markers of quality. There are countless pieces of media that were not successful upon release. However, have wide acclaim after a period of retrospection.

We're not talking about a underrated gem that didnt sold like Green Green Greens because it went under the radar, we're talking about a manga that had all the spotlight on it and big sales, and failed to keep it, and honestly, it completely fell in obscurity years after, the only time i read about RxL online is the occasional pennycryman mention.

As if major filmmakers haven't released bombs immediately after an acclaimed previous film countless times that later went on to be reappraised years, sometimes decades later.

Ironically the last time RxL was acknowledged was when Fujimaki recommended GGG #1 as the "RobotXLaserbeam author", even though he was already making Kill Blue at that point. That was a cursed rec if ever there was one.

Movies are totally different than manga, a movie is a short story with a start and end planned, movies are not just axed mid production because the public is not voting on it or buying volumes, also movie longevity has a wide range of ways to happen, be on DVD, streaming or TV channels, a 1 year axed manga is just that, a flop, these series get no life beyond the axe, just get forgotten unless its a controversial case like Samurai 8 which becomes a "meme", and i see no one suddenly calling it a great manga in Japan.

They may be different mediums, but my point is that upon release they were ignored/seen as terrible outside of a small niche, only to gain reappraisal later on.
Yes, film obviously has different longevity due to accessibility, however just because a manga from a famous vet is ignored, cancelled, and forgotten does not mean it was "bad". Whether it had life beyond the axe at the current moment is irrelevant.

I understand your point but the thing is that we're talking about a case and situation where something failed simply for not being good enough despite having all the hard work already done for it, RxL had the author, sales, early good reception and push from the magazine, so why it failed to keep going? its not like the writing was even different than Kuroko no Basket, it had the same tropes and fujo bait characters, what would be the mystery reason RxL got axed other than not being good enough? i'm not even calling the manga "bad" but it was pretty much a worse and less charismatic Kuroko no Basket.

I mean all of this arguing,it’s assuming Kill Blue is selling bellow expectations, right.
isn’t kill blue an action comedy like Mashle or Kiyoshi.

it sells about the same amount as Kiyoshi and is Kiyoshi is kinda a success apparently, why is kill blue suddenly the axe bait.

Since WyldViolet used film as a example,I just used TV. Is it possible that Kill Blue is designed to be a cult hit,not to be a rating juggernaut but to keep a certain type of viewer watching.

besides,an lot of the first half of Kurok’s basketball ranked poorly……..it took until deep Into the 100s chapters for it to not consistently rank near Bottom

I think we're going in circles here. I just think say "it wasn't good enough" isn't a fair statement. There are many reasons a series may fail in Jump, quality is not the only one.
Personally though, I liked RxL a lot more than KnB and thought it had much more charisma personally.

I mean, I don't think comparing it to Kiyoshi is really fair, given Kiyoshi is from a rookie mangakas. Plus, Kill Blue has been running for well over a year, coming on two. It's definitely a disappointment sales wise. And sure, it's definitely plausible for Kill Blue to survive as a middle dweller for a few years, thus being a "cult hit" as you mentioned. The problem is it isn't working as a middle dweller, despite all of the promotion Shueshia has given it, and despite coming from a mangaka who made one of the mags most popular series the sales keep dropping, magazine rankings keep dropping.
Thus, why the KnB comparison doesn't really work either, given Fujimaki was a rookie when KnB was serialized.

Kill Blue's an everything series, really. Hitman action comedy sports romance teen drama.

Though the romance inherently can never lead anywhere, the sports are mostly gone (the horse riding was really just a gimmick battle), the action's nothing special, and the comedy and teen drama doesn't match up to Witch Watch or Himaten, leaving the series rather devoid of any remaining strong points compared to its competition.
