What we saw of Adori before was only her back. And it completely doesn't match her current appearance.
At least she had her hair slightly curly and in a half-updo now, whereas the old image had her hair straight and down.

Like I said, it's just her back shadow without any color. Similar to the black guy (the killer) in Conan.
I also remember another time, her back shadow was pink.
But her case is not the first time. Traumerei also is a case of changing appearance. In the name hunt arc, his image doesn't even look like when he had long hair.

If Ur talking about detective conan, I haven't watched it yet. As for pink hair of Adori, that was in S2 iirc. As for Rei's flashback in NHS, I find it similar to transformed Rei. Ofc, there will be some changes but it's kinda similar to me atleast. Even S2 Dumas had tail but not in S3, likewise Proust had beak iirc in S2.

OK so let me explain. The "back shadow"(?) (Maybe "back silhouette"?) is simply to describe the outline of a person, not to show their color.

In the picture you gave it is not colored, it is simply a sketch of the back.
In the other picture it is pink simply because it is in a flashback so the author put the background in pink.

Actually it was only in the last chapter of ss3 that the author changed Adori's appearance and it does not match the previous image.

And the reason her appearance changed is clearly related to her becoming Arie Adori.
She was mentioned by name a few times in ss3, but not Arie.
There may be many theories about her origin, but I believe SIU never hinted at it.

Yes, but she never appeared like this in the manhwa itself. Not really a retcon in this case, just like with Yama certain things were changed. She wasn't a Arie originally.

In S2ch309, when she described herself as “merely the blade that cuts down the enemies of the Zahard family” I instantly thought she was an Arie and that she had white hair.

The more I look at her, the more I think she resembles Inieta, especially her hair and eyes, but with a lighter skin tone
