Yep, would be an easy way for Cross Guild to get fleet manpower, as well as Crocodile being interested enough in Pluton enough to motivate him to settle base further in Wano.
I had forgotten about pluto. Though I have no idea of how the cross guild would learn pluto is at wano. Could buggy have learned this from oden?
They could be motivated to go there in the first place going by Buggy’s memory and then earning Momo’s trust for him to tell them about it.
In any case, I can def see Oda going this route given Crocodile’s interest and Buggy’s past. He could even leave Mihawk there after they set up base. Mihawk just wants peace and quiet at the end of the day, so a mostly secluded country that’s hard for many Marines to get to would suit him well. And would give an excuse for Yamato to leave to seek answers for Wano from Laugh Tale.
One point though, the cross guild can't set up shop at wano. Doing that means automatic all out war with the yonko luffy. Wano is part of luffy's territory.
As far as Momo and the others know, it’s fine though. They’d have no reason to alert Luffy as long as they keep friendly relations, long enough for Croc to figure out how to get Pluton for himself.
Pardon me, I did not want to violate any community rules, this was more about me wanting to talk about the latest Yamato developments in a thread dedicated to said character. But now that the chapter has been (inofically) released, here I go.
It really depends on how Yamato is motivated to copy Oden less and be herself more. I think that will really boil down to her wanting to do things different from how Oden did them, and I'd say she's on that path already given how Yamato delayed her journey even though Oden sailed out right away first chance he got.
Agreed, I mean I don‘t picture her discarding her Oden personality anytime soon, but I think she has her own idea of being Oden and I figure she‘s not trying to exactly copy every detail of his adventures. IMO it‘s more of a vague dream, be like Oden, discover the vast world after being “chained“(in Yamato‘s case literally) to Wano for most of his / her life.
She doesn't have to discard her entire personality, yeah. At the end of the day, Yamato grew up forced to be surrounded by militarized people with a military-minded dad who even fought with her repeatedly. So it's no surprise she's pretty tomboyish, playful, and rough the way she is when combined with being influenced by Oden's easygoing, fun persona.
For some reason I‘m still expecting Burges to step into the ring and challenge Yamato to a sumo match.
Cover story is set slightly in the past and a Blackbeard invasion would be too significant not to cover in full, more significant than the Whole Cake invasion.
Yeah I agree on the timeline being a good reason against Blackbeard appearing and also him attacking Mary Geoise already. Only circumstance making it possible would be a time related phenomen in Elbaf, but well I doubt it is the case.
I don’t recall him doing one, though it doesn’t really matter since it’s clear Yamato is doing what she wants to do. She isn’t going around trying to be Daimyo or have children like Oden did for example.
Yeah and that‘s exactly why I think Blackbeard would be the perfect opportunity to change the pace at Wano.

Momo will prob get mad in the event Blackbeard comes and Yamato confronts him while telling Momo to stay back, because Momo doesn’t want to rely on people who wish to leave. If Momo doesn’t find out Yamato stayed because she doubts Momo by the end of the cover story, then he’ll def find out when Blackbeard invades.
