Bruh:

1. Blue Lock #37 (170,796)
2. Ahiru no Sora: The Day #1 (114,380)
3. Shangri-La Frontier #25 (107,768)
4. Hajime no Ippo #145 (59,023)
5. Four Knights of the Apocalypse #25 (42,379)
6. Gachiakuta #18 (33,559)
7. There Is Also a Hole in the Student Organization! #12 (31,686)
8. Rent A Girlfriend #42 (30,889)
8. A Couple of Cuckoos #31 (25,774)

It's expected to release on early June
That 33k is probably the series peak btw. It's nowhere near the peak Cuckoo or Rent a gf got. Hell, It probably has the worst peak in this list.
Student Council has holes has an anime coming with alot of hype so we'll see what happens with that one.

TLDR; Magazine should not rely on Gachiakuta to be their main action series. Try another one.
Also, axe all veterans except for ippo. Nakaba should be working on an entire new series instead of trash like 4KOTA

Why are we just lying now? That's almost top 5 in sales for Magazine right now and Magazine struggles to find new series that can make the weekly Shoseki rankings for multiple weeks, let alone sell 20k. Magazine isn't shitting out Blue Lock/Tokyo Revengers/Quintuplet level sellers like how Jump isn't shitting out Kaisen/Demon Slayer level boosts for their series once an anime comes out.
It's literally on the lower end right now.

If you look at its sales chart over time you can see the immediate drop in sales following the infamous pool chapter.
Well, good…. I thought sales stayed around 100k even after that fiasco. At least, the marketing gave that impression.

By the way, does anyone know how many hours are left until Jump Press? What time will it take place?

I really don’t understand the Alien Headbutt hype in the west. It’s been nonstop fights since chapter 1. this manga is literally just only “Hype moments and aura”.
This is exactly why

Found this post and I’m curious on what are people’s thoughts on it on this forum. Just wanna know since folks talk a lot about manga sales on this site.
Of course they're right. Jump fans are completely detached from reality and how sales works. Most series don't even dream of selling 20k physical, most anime adaptations come from works that sell less than that. This isn't even adding digital sales and manga app views, that are now bigger than the physical manga market.

Gachiakuta sells well, it's no wonder a competent studio had interest in it. The severe mainstream expectations from "Big 3" era fans is why people think this is low or assume japanese fans share their messed up perception.

If they want to lock themselves only to the best best selling battle series, it's fine, their taste. But they should stop sharing misinformation because they're obsessed with sales validating their tastes, it's like if someone thought only blockbuster movies are good because they sell the most.

If you look at its sales chart over time you can see the immediate drop in sales following the infamous pool chapter.
Barely anyone talks about that chapter in Japan. The drop in sales is a mix of it just running for long, some people moving to digital and some people getting tired of the story dragging, a way more common complaint, more than a silly chapter.

It's still very popular though.

Nah man axe Ippo too. Has he fought again yet or is he still "retired"? I wanted to read the manga at some point and decided against it when I saw there were like 300 chapters of that shit. I'm glad I read Jump where that stuff wouldn't fly, lol.

He hasn't fought yet. The story is in the middle of a plot point where every single rival of his is either dying or severely injured just to hit home that maybe ippo shouldn't return to fight again. It's Sendo right now. Miyata's probably next after that.

George himself got admitted to the hospital but he's since been released.

That ichi chapter is really funny lol. Immediately reveals the traitor in the next page of the chapter😂.
I’d like to bet Nishi went back and forth on whether she should make the traitor investigation a long arc itself or just reveal it right then and there.

Hero Destroyerz is absolutely terrible.

ABSOLUTE DOCTOR! 🙌
This chapter is a punch in the ba**s to everyone who still thinks Tanimoto doesn't know how to write! ❤
He's good at emotional writing (and we've known that for the most part) but he sucks at technical writing.

Did Nishi do something similar in Iruma-kun? I have a feeling she did. Because of how straight to the point it was. My guess is that she just did not want to make an investigation arc, which, honestly, I can see being a bit of a drag.

I'm liking the issue overall, good twists and turns for some series, and some possibilities in the future. Now, that is what makes for a solid issue overall, in my opinion.

Don’t read Iruma, but yes, an investigation arc needs to be paced juuuuuust right to succeed. Or you can just skip that entirely.

This was a pretty strong issue of jump, I can't say I didn't enjoy a single series this week.

Its not terrible buuuuut... it doesnt feel like gorilla seriously trying. Heck editorial doesnt even trying because again setup is weakly weak.

This is actually a good description. This chapter of UD was very good but the path to get there was bare; the UD mangaka kind of has an anti-Mashima problem (Mashina is fantastic at setting up the table but the ending usually falls flat). We need better plot and story, because that’ll make those emotional moments hit far greater than they already are.

In all these new manga that flop.

Characters building is weak. Characters relashionship dynamics are weak too. This characters system doesn't support a theme either.

IMHO.

Mangaka who are good at oneshots are not automatically good at series. They are recruited based on their onsehots skills. Nothing weird here?

What do they want to say, as authors??? Nobody knows. Because they're told to make jump manga for the mag.

So, they choose a settei, a concept, and they're building something around it. Something pretty superficial. Something that relies on gimmicks.

Editors are gatekeepers. You have to do what editors say to be published.

'nough said. :hee
