Sakamoto Days might be nearing the conclusion in a story-sense, but Suzuki is clearly in no rush to actually get there.

I think he'll push the series up past ch 300 at this point, if only for the sake of hitting that number.
Idk if there'll be 43 chapters from this point lol. We really only have the Shin fight now, and then its the final battle against Uzuki. For context, this final battle started chapter 222, which was 35 chapters ago. Like if somehow the shin fight is a full volume long, and then the final uzuki fight hits like 3 volumes as well, for some insane reason, you're only matching the current content. You'd need another volume after all that to eclipse 300.
My personal bets are like 5-8ish chapters for the shin fight, and then 16 max for the remaining Uzuki stuff. So just about 3 volumes from this point onwards.

Where is this from @Nuesmoker?

--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

I saw this on Twitter saying that there is a original merchandise project currently in progress and that future updates will happen on May 25 which is curiously the exact date of Issue 27 release in Japan :hmm

To be honest I got it from a JP mutual, and I remember the same format being from an official site... I just do not remember WHICH site lol.

Anyways, as I said in my tweet, I can't cope enough for it to be Anime related, but at least I am always happy for new merch.

Uzuki can just unlock a new personality and unveil a new set of assassins made up of new characters. Kind of like what he did this arc.

Kagurabachi next volume is in August. In theory it has good chances to get its first Shoseki 1st place there

I imagine Sakamoto and Hertz will be for August too

Kaiju 8’s mangaka has incredible art. He’d be great to be paired up with a good author. I feel like Kaiju 8 really lacked in the story department after the first arc. Him with someone like Nisoisn, inagaki, or kishimoto would be awesome
I agree on the art quality, but bear in mind this is the same guy who was barely keeping to an average of monthly chapter drops by the end of his ~120 chapter series (admittedly more like 160-80 if you factor in chapter length). It would require some kind of lifestyle change to ensure that he’s capable of keeping up with a weekly schedule without dropping weeks. (That, or be doing something that requires less painstaking detail than all the stuff in Kaiju no. 8. I also don’t know how much of his burden was a result of managing the story.)

Double issue in September of all months

Mayhaps this will redeem the lack of group cover on the latest issue? I hope so, at least.

They really are getting rid of himaten just to prepare for nisekoi’s author comeback aren’t they?

well, in the end, i hope the author gets at least his cover in the 2nd anniversary and then the anime announcement with its ending

if i'm not mistaken the time length between the last 3 or 4 chapters were like 2-3 months wasn't it?

Grim. Iikagen Kizuke is already a frustrating read as a oneshot, i don't want to see the full series.

I would rather have a newbie take up the romance slot again.
Infact, they should get Kengo Matsuura to team up with Kouji Miura again and do a full series.

Dunno about good art, but the main thing i took way from kaiju8 is that his paneling is HORRIFYINGLY BAD, so much so that every chapter is like a min read because he doesn't know how to draw in smaller panels.

We actually have 10 battle shounens right now in the magazine, but i'm sure @Kiaida isn't satisfied with just that, so Saito-san, please another round! :cheez
Atleast 3 is getting canned after 2 rounds. I don't ever want to see Kiyoshi and Shinobi be comfortable.

Same, would rather see one of the GFC winners take Hima-ten's spot like Shirokuma Shirosaki or Izumi Hakase.

Lol! Found it on the Kiyoshi Reddit.
A comment from Usui in the new Kiyoshi Volume about Toji Shuten "First appeared in Volume 2. There was backstory planned, but when the series got canceled, it was all shelved. Lucky you, Shuten!!"

So did Asuta Roth really save the series? :teehee
I think it’s really obvious that a lot of the series shortcomings are a result of it selling poorly/being afraid of the axe. Like the one fun school life chapter tanked hard in the toc, so he really pivoted to having only battles with no downtime 😭.

I think it’s a shame the action series with a comedy focus in jump all inevitably start dropping the comedy. I was super surprised reading Beelzebub for the first time and it never really became more serious aside from a small part in the middle

Tamura is the GOAT when it comes to tonal versatility.

Still haven’t done this so:

Issue 22-23 Votes:
1. Akane-banashi (Was expecting return of the Rakugoverse but somehow got something more leveled up beyond that)
2. One Piece (Hard not to put up here with all the Imu madness being shown)
3. Nue’s Exorcist (Really good combat and great to see some opportunity for our protag to grow a LOT in the aftermath of this)
4. Kagurabachi (Teamwork makes the dream work!… for now, at least. Make ‘em look cool before they die, I respect it.)
5. Under Doctor (It was nice feels.)

6. Blue Box (Wholesome brother)
7. Hima-Ten! (Wholesome pictures)
8. Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi (Wholesome mama)
9. Witch Watch (Wholesome… eldritch horror?)
10. Shinobi Undercover (Wholesome Talk no Jutsu scheming)

@Xanji06 deleted but he's talking about this:

"Shuten Touji

First appeared in Volume 2. The character design was already set, but when the series got canceled, everything got shelved. Good for you, Shuten!!!"

So yeah, apparently the series was supposed to be axed, but is easy to see what happened, Touji was introduced on chapter 15 (Vol 2), published in October of 2024, Volume 1 was finally released 1 month later in November 2024, sold nearly 13k copies in the month, and "Kiyoshi vs Asuta Roth" started on ch19 published on November 4 days after vol 1 released, so basically Usui was able to struck gold with the decent sales and introducing a great character which saved the series!

With this I am really confused on like how the axe works. I guess he was in a similar situation to Otr, but the push actually worked out?

He probably got the cancelation notice around ch 10~15 to start planning the end of the series but vol 1 decent sales and Asuta Roth driving the survey up that came immediately after that just made the editorial go back in the decision, Horie, former EiC said that there are cases of series that they decide to axe where popularity start to only rise later on:

"Horie admitted that the decision to cancel some series can be made too early. He said, "There are also cases where manga go up in popularity little by little," and that fact is sometimes overlooked. Horie said that the standard for cancellation is 10 weeks, but some series start to gain popularity by the seventh or eighth week."

I guess looking at it, that november really only had Syd Craft, so it makes sense that they held off on axing it, and then it recovered on its own. But wow, I guess everyone's instincts about the Roth fight really weren't incorrect, and it was written as a possible end to the series. Makes me even prouder to stand by it, its really overcome everything.
